older siblings do it okay and are you
involved in any other events outside of
track uh yeah I’m in volleyball and FFA
okay so quite a bit are you a distance
or a sprinter um I’d say I’m more of a
sprinter but I can do a lot of stuff I’m
not that fast I guess
but what events are do you participate
in um I’ve done long jump and everything
below a
400 okay do you have any superstitions
going into the track mates at
all no not really just kind of go with
the flow and wing it yeah what are is
the main goal go throughout the season
um I would say just to improve um as an
individual and with the team always are
you part of the ray team uh no I’m not
okay and exactly what all events are you
in um I can kind of do anything really I
just started shop put this year but I
haven’t really I don’t have much
experience with it at all okay thank you
CLA and we are on to the next
hey
brce I’m here with Mitchell iner how
many years have you been in track
Mitchell since sophomore year okay
what what was the inspiration behind
that uh my friends like K Cox forced me
to go
out have you regretted that at all I
wouldn’t say no I’ve made good memories
along the way oh yeah what are the
successes and failures
of track uh successes I’ve placed a
couple track mates failures um last year
I scratched all mine at all my discus at
conference so that was kind of a
bummer oh don’t sound too good right
there what events do you participate in
um I’m a shot but and discus thrower
maybe like a 4 by fat every once in a
while what does the training outside of
look like uh every day we go down warm
up work on footwork work on confidence
really you know down there see how well
we can get confidence really a big key
across all
sports what is the main goal throughout
the season uh keep improving keep
building team chemistry keep working to
get better every
day okay thank you Mitchell and we are
on to the next thank
you I am here with Cole
Cox hi Cole how long have you been doing
track four years since freshman year
okay what was the inspiration behind
joining track uh get better at
football okay what does the training
outside of track look
like um running on the
treadmill okay are you a distance or a
sprinter I’m going to I’m going to have
to go with Sprinter
here okay do you have any superstitions
when it comes to the track Mees um well
we actually lost our fortnite and what
would goodies say baton so I’m a little
nervous that we’re not going to win a
whole lot because
that okay what are the successes and
failures of
track um failures um when I was in
eighth grade one time I fell over every
hurdle and
successes I don’t just succeed in track
I succeed through life
heck of a success right there what is
the goal throughout the season um
hopefully go to State and something you
know maybe shut R that’s what I’m
say well I hope that goal gets
accomplished thank you Cole we on to the
next thank
you I am here with Josh g hi Josh how
long have you been doing track I’ve been
doing track since seventh grade what was
the inspiration behind joining track um
all of my friends were doing it and
really my sister did it too so that led
me to start okay what events are you in
I’m in shop foot and
discus okay what are the successes and
failures throughout your track career
well I’ve uh really struggled with
discus and one time I threw that shorter
than my shot put but my successes I’ve
placed in multiple sh shot put events
okay do you have any superstitions
behind before the golf
mates track mates excuse me um not
really you just show up cold weather
definitely hurts the performance of the
athletes oh yeah and what is does the
training look like outside of track um
for me as a thrower a lot of
weightlifting and just practicing
technique and form okay and how did you
learn your
Technique uh that would be from um a lot
of
practices uh from
Mr yep
nope what is the goal throughout the
season for you uh to stay in the upper
40s for 40 foot range for shot put and
to continue to improve discus that would
be a great goal to accomplish thank you
Josh we on to the next
I’m here with Cole joam hi Cole how long
have you been doing track uh six years
since seventh grade so what was the
inspiration behind joining track uh
wanted to stay in shape for other sports
like football try to stay
active what events are you in uh mostly
just short Sprints hun 4 by1 4X two
Sprint Med stuff like that okay and with
those events what are the successes and
failures you’ve come across um well last
year I was hoping to make it in the
honored for uh state but didn’t quite
get there as close but um last two years
we’ve made it for Sprint Med so yeah
okay and given that what are the goals
to work on throughout the season uh I
want a little faster block times get out
a little bit more shorten down my time
maybe hopefully get her 115 for 100 time
and make to say again hopefully okay
that’d be a wonderful go to accomplish
what does the training outside of track
look like uh just trying to stay fit
keep active run on the elliptical do
some jogs get in the weight room
absolutely just keep the body active
right there y absolutely and final
question do you have any
superstitions um I like to make sure my
stuff is packed the night before feel
like if you forget something right away
you’re just starting off on a bad foot
but always keep organized thank you Cole
we are on to the
next I here with with Luis salar hi Luis
how long have you been in track I’ve
been in it since seventh grade what was
the inspiration behind joining track I
heard that joining track would help out
with football a lot so I wanted to get
better there and how has that translated
has it helped at all I I have gotten I
feel like more athletic to help with
football but hurting my knee a couple of
times kind of made me take a couple
steps back oh yeah what events are you
in uh I just
I decided that uh my freshman year I
didn’t want to run anymore because when
I was in junior high someone signed me
up for races I didn’t want to do Ian
Oliver so I just wanted to throw and
I’ve stuck to it stood on business how
did you learn your Technique with
throwing uh my older brother threw when
he was in track so he kind of gave me
some tips and pointers I’ve had to learn
a lot from
geese oh yeah what are the successes in
failures that come with track successes
are sometimes you’ll scratch and that
kind of really sucks cuz it’s just you
out there on that platform so it look it
feels like everybody in the world is
watching you or when I’ve thrown Varsity
a couple times I just feel like I’m the
smallest person out there and I can’t
throw it just as
far oh yeah and what are the goals
throughout the season I’m hoping to get
to throw a couple more Varsity meets um
not much for me to do since I’m about 60
lbs lighter than anybody there so I just
kind of want to have fun okay and do you
have any superstitions Beyond track
meets um there are two things that I do
I have to take a nap on the bus and I
have to almost procrastinate getting up
there to the throwing platform about the
only time procrastination helps thank
you Lis we on to the next all right
thank you
I here with Ian
Oliver Ian how long have you been doing
track uh since seventh
grade okay and what was the inspiration
behind joining track uh my parents
didn’t really give me a choice I was
either going to do golf or track and I
don’t like walking on
grass what events are you in exactly uh
this year I’m pretty much going to be
running the mile and maybe the two mile
but throughout my career I’ve run some
400s and 800s too so much more distance
than a sprinter yeah definitely and that
comes with being a cross country
Runner okay and have you been on any
relay teams at all uh freshman and
sophomore and then I guess a little bit
on junior year there are some 4 by
eights but I guess I’m not really the
guy to talk to about those okay what
does the training outside of track look
like uh I mean for like most sports it
starts in the weight room I mean you got
to have a good base Fitness wise and
then as always running
helps oh yeah are you involved in any
any other
events uh I by events do you mean other
sports yeah okay uh I run cross country
and that’s about it for other
sports okay and what is the goal for
this season uh I’m not the greatest
distance Runner so I mean it’s really
just about personal Improvement and
being consistent and knowing that you
went out there and you did your best
absolutely as long as the dedication
that counts and final question of the
day for you here Ian what do you have
any superstitions
uh kind of so if I’m ever thinking a
meet’s going to get canceled I cannot
make any bets or outright statements
that it will get canceled otherwise it
doesn’t no matter the
conditions thank you for watching this
