now it seems Liv golfers John RAM and T
Hatton have been offered a Ridder cup
Lifeline yep a Ridder cup Lifeline like
cast your mind back to when we heard the
announcement of John RAM and then
following that till Hatton joining Liv
golf maroy came out and says the rules
have to be changed in order to make them
eligible and I’m a big fan of that
because um at the time I was like we
need them if we want to do anything
decent at Beth p black next year however
we now have heard from the new
CEO of the DP World Tour guy
Kennings and he’s come out in a
statement saying the rules don’t need to
be changed but you’re thinking what what
is going on here well let’s dive into
this breaking news story a little
further new DP World Tour boss guy
cunnings insists there’s no need to
change the existing rules on the a cup
eligibility despite the defection of the
two European Main Stays from their
victory over the United States in Rome
last Autumn Kennings began his tenure as
chief executive of the European tour
group earlier this month when he
succeeded Keith Pelle the Englishman
comes into the job at a time a men’s
professional golf is pretty much a
battlefield now essentially think about
it this way there’s a little bit of sum
to this we’re all thinking well if the
rules don’t have to be changed while the
likes of Lee West W Stenson who was
meant to be captain and polter not
eligible to play even the likes of
Sergio Garcia well the simple fact of
they resigned their
membership and there was something to do
with fines now whether they were paid or
not essentially if fines are paid and if
you don’t resign your
membership it still makes you eligible
to play now if you ask me that just
sounds like a bit wish Washi because how
it was put across towards go back 18
months ago that you literally can’t play
for the Ric Cup team you are out that is
it and let me know if you thought that
too because into the media that’s the
perception and the Persona that was
definitely given off so when the
Spaniard signed his lucrative deal to
join Saudi Arabia funded live golf his
Ridder cup teammate Rory initially
stated that he needed to change the
rules now but the new man in charge at
the went withth base tour believes there
is no such move required and says this
if you look at eligibility criteria for
2023 then I think there has been a
slight misconception he told reporters
the reality is under the current rules
if a player is European a member of the
DP World Tour and abides by the rules if
you don’t get a release there are
sanctions and you take those penalties
there is no reason why the players who
have taken Live membership could not not
qualify or be available for selection
how complicated is this so essentially
let’s go into this a little more Rah and
Hatton remain members of the DP World
Tour despite playing their trade in the
Liv golf circuit now each time they Tee
It Up in the live golf league they have
to apply for release for from The
Establishment tour the DP World Tour for
the ability to go and play now the DP
World Tour don’t want that to happen and
and that means the DP World Tour
typically refuse their waivers which
then puts the players in a breach of
their rules and then findes them up to
£1,000 per tournament and per time they
Tee It Up so think about this logically
what Kennings is saying we don’t want
them to play we don’t allow them to play
but if they we find them and they pay
Their fines this still makes them
eligible for selection to the Ridder cup
now you’ve also got to think on Merit on
the rder cup standings and points it
will be quite hard for Hatton and RAM to
qualify on points just simply because
the amount of tournaments they’re going
to play in which have Ryder cut points
available in them in reality it’s just
going to be the majors and maybe a
selected amount of DP World Tour events
if and if they decide to play and are
allowed to play this is all so
complicated please tell me if you’re
keeping up right now essentially what
I’m I’m saying if they pay the fines
they’re eligible to play which is
definitely not what we heard in the last
few years so let’s hear from Kennings
himself the new Man In Charge he said
this we take it everything on a caseby
casee basis everything must be done in a
fair responsible proportionate way that
is what the sports resolutions ruled on
all suspensions will count and you have
to serve them kenning said and the guys
who have analyzed this detail have said
that they do it in the right way there
is no reason why they can’t play in the
Ridder cup we’re not going to change
anything on that basis rules are rules
and they have to apply from every member
we’re not in the position to be changing
the rules that we had to go to to court
to
defend very very interesting all I’m
saying is that as the media and me as a
golf fan definitely had a totally
different perception on those rules now
he was asked a few questions around the
PF fund and the framework agreement and
yaas Al Ryman and said this it has to be
better for the professional game to find
a single product and he is a very smart
guy he will know that everyone is going
to have to give a bit to get where you
need to the more you re read the
headlines about viewership figures are
down people realize if you don’t move
quickly they’ll be lasting damage and I
don’t think yes sir wants damage to the
game he clearly likes the game hopefully
we see that a deal is being thrusted out
and this is the interesting bit what do
the fans want to see what kinnings was
asked they want to see the best players
play together as often as they can and
as well as on all the majors that’s the
model I can see being very appealing
that’s the only part of the picture
self-evidently if we’re going to find a
solution we’re going to need to be
thinking about integrating team golf in
some way that’s to satisfy what’s been
with live but also the recognition
that we all love team golf kenning says
is hopeful that we can actually get to a
resolution and the game will be in a
clearer space in the coming months but
does not anticipate any significant
change until
2026 this is just
ridiculous
2026 this deadline just keeps getting
puted back put back put back and put
back now he doesn’t stop there he says
this the reality is 2026 season needs to
be the one where there is significant
changes to do that you’ve got to get it
done by the end of 2024 to give yourself
2025 to repare prepare and roll it out
I’ll be doing everything I can to
encourage people to make the decisions
as quickly as possible the truth is
people are having to do stuff they have
never thought they’d have to do they’ve
got to be willing to compromise if we
find a solution we’ll have to move fast
and make it work but people have to get
get in the room first to talk about it
and this is the point why are we not in
a room to talk about this already golf
is popular right now but like guy
cunnings just said there will be lasting
damage if we don’t react quickly now
that is all we have time for in today’s
breaking news but it’s very very
interesting to hear his stance on the
right a cup slight little loophole in
the rules if you ask me but the rules
are the rules and it’s interesting to
get his take on what’s happening with
the framework agreement I think the
summary of that is literally nothing
thanks for watching

  1. I think its all bs who cares what tour they play for during regular season..its Europe against the USA so if they are the best European or American wouldn't you want the best players playing for that country..dosent make sense to me other than dp and pga are just butt hurt..I don't think ill watch it..I prefer watching the LPGA they're more adult..

  2. I will tell you what is going on , the reason why i am not into golf anymore so many stupid comment even from you sick and tired of all this live this stupid dp pga and Liv . what a crazy stupid . All I ewant is to see the best golfer in the world play one against each other. so all them rich fuck %%% compnay are killing golf

  3. This guy is in charge of the DP World (EU Players mostly) Tour? He's a hitman for the PGA Tour. He has no interest in making it fair. BTW, he didn't answer the question. He switched it to an answer about Team golf. Which had nothing to do with the question. This guy will destroy DP World golf.

  4. Ok so $100k fine per tournament… and there’s approx 14 LIV tournaments… so if Hatton pays $1.4M in fines he can play in the Ryder cup? Haha sounds like a sweet deal for him.

  5. It's just FUCKING RIDICULOUS… PGA and DP just fucking with these guys and NEW glasses man is NO different…. you should do a show on how the PGA and DP are NOW being like LIV…..

  6. Can we get off the PGAT/LIV/DP for a couple of videos and talk about other golf tours and womens golf, even YT golf. Becoming a broken record when we all know nothing's happening with PGAT/PIF
Grown men who can't come to some type of an agreement in anyway. So the videos become repetitively boring. IMO🇦🇺🦘🇦🇺🦘

  7. Didn’t Luke say they didn’t need to change the rules a few months ago when he was asked about Rahm and Hatton when he was appointed captain ?

Also, the way I’m reading this is that they are fined if they don’t get a release and Poulter, Westwood and Garcia were not granted releases. So they are saying is they will grant releases to Rahm and Hatton.

I just can’t see them saying if you want to play in Ryder cup we’re going to effectively charge you £100k per LIV event you play. Which is what they did for the others.

  8. Oil company in Dubai decides who should play in Europe…
Btw no one care about European Tour, fans left long time ago and won’t come back because they prefer Liv, it’s cheaper, funnier and the field is 50x better than any DPWT event.

  9. Not a LIV fan at all but one thing I do agree on is LIV golfers being eligible to play Ryder Cup or President Cup fixtures after all your talking about playiing for your country and that alone unites both PGA and LIV golfers although for selection you still need a qualifying criteria (whatever the current criteria for selection is) you can't be selected on past performances

  10. It appears that you have to look like a douche to be the boss at the DP World Tour.
