well it’s a big Thursday night under the
lights on the south coast and here’s
your Manchester City starting 11 for
this Premier League Clash Edison is
between the sticks Walker where’s the
armband aangi a and vario rodri kovich
de bruyne berardo and although foden
didn’t train on Tuesday he starts
tonight against the team he scored the
most against in the league and after an
impressive showing last time these two
met Alvarez leads the line a quick run
through the subs Orga Diaz Stone starts
on the bench after coming off in the FA
Cup semi final Gish doku Gomez Nunes Bob
and Lewis Keith k your first impression
on that starting 11 for
City I think it’s a strong bench and I
think they’ve got game changers on the
bench as well U but now happy with the
team I think there’s movement there’s
good ball Mastery in there can dominate
possession of the of the football which
uh which we do and I think there’s goals
all over the attacking third a tricky
opposition tonight in Brighton let’s
take a look at their starting 11 still
between the sticks dunk wears the arm
band Jia Pedro Pascal gross Lana Moda
Welbeck the young argentin and star and
janary signing Valentin Barco starts
Bela van Hecker and veltman are the
starting 11 a look on the bench and the

tonight well big Thursday night under
the lights on the south coast it’s a
pleasure to be joined in the studio
tonight by Keith K and Paul dickov Paul
what are your thoughts on uh the
Brighton team tonight yeah well look
they’ve had a time to prepare for it you
know they had a free weekend um team
that’s not been scoring a lot of goals
you know last home game Arsenal went
there and on them 3-0 um Xiao Pedro
coming back in you know who’s who has a
real threat and they’ve got the
experience Adam Lana um L dunk at the
back and we know how Brighton are going
to play you know um the play is um
expansive football um steel at the back
takes a lot a lot of risks and they’re
one of these teams that when it walks
for them um they’re a real good team you
know good to watch difficult to play
against as well they like to go man for
Man without the ball
um but when it doesn’t quite go right
and it can only be a little thing
sometimes Keith that um it can go right
out the window for them you know they’
took a few beatings and conceded a lot
of goals when it’s not worked well for
them so um they live a goas tonight and
there’s no doubt about it but you know I
say it all the time if Man City play the
way they can play I’m hoping for a com
comfortable Victory any surprises three
changes tonight is that what you’re
expecting Keith I think there’ be
changes uh from now to the end of the
season um I think the pleasing thing is
the the squad is settled and got a good
understanding of the fundamentals of how
um the manager pep wants his team to
play and I think a lot of the focus now
because they know we’re getting into the
stage now where it’s like these are
pressure games and as a manager which
Paula know as well now you work on
fundamentals you’ve got to have your
fundamentals in place of how you want
your team to play and what the what your
your key performance indicators are as a
team but then still giving the players
that individual freedom to go and
express themselves because which one
those yes we need to win a game but we
got to win it as a team the chase is
certainly on isn’t it pep has said in
the past that he prefers chasing do you
think the players will will feel the
same yeah well they’ve done it both ways
well they over the last what at five at
the last six they’ve LED from the front
um they know the pressure of doing that
and um last couple of Seasons you know
they have You’ you’d like to be 10
points clear they well yeah most
definitely but they do know how to chase
teams down and they don’t panic you know
and they’ve got this um uncanny thing of
and they say it all the time and people
think it’s a bit of cliche that they
take one game at a time but they
genuinely do you know so they B have
seen the results um obviously Arsenal
winning Liverpool getting beat but that
won’t affect how they’re going to
prepare for tonight you know they’ll be
looking at Brighton tonight Chelsea’s
gone F Cup finals in the bag um and six
games left you know I keep saying it I
said there’s eight games left there’s
any team that can go and win every
single game that’s left it’s Man City
because they’ve been there leading from
the front but they’ve been there as well
when they’re chasing teams down stones
and viio in just how good has viio been
recently again I think he’s been
seamless his transition in into the team
and I think that’s always the sign of
one a good team and a good football club
but also then of a very good player um
you have a look I was I was watching his
interview now I still can’t believe he’s
what 22 years old I’m thinking um very
mature very mature when he how he plays
a game good understanding of his role
and he’s he’s somebody that I think will
develop more and more and add more to
his game I think there’s still a lot not
a lot but I think there’s there’s still
Improvement in his game I think he’s
been outstanding you know it’s difficult
to come into a pep team anyway but when
you’re a center half we all know what
pep wants something different from his
field backs as well so from being a
center half playing fieldb um in the way
pep wants to play I think he’s adapted
so well you know for somebody so young
probably end up as a number
eight over in the whole yeah I think
he’s been outstanding but when you look
at the the new crop that has come in you
know you’ve got to add doku into that of
a similar guys who’s come in and is hit
the the ground running obviously very
different position but it it’s so
exciting to think once pep gets you know
more than a season to mold these players
the talent that’s going to be in show on
the in the future is is just going to be
incredible absolutely I think the
signers coverage as well they’ve come in
they’ve settled in and if you hear them
talking um you know they say it’s such
an easy changing room to come into you
know and you can tell that the players
are together and you know people talk
about team spirit and it can be
overblown a little bit and people say it
for the sake of it but you know being in
around the players that it will be need
a change room to go into cuz all look
after each other um this they all know
it’s a squad thing as well you know
Keith touching the bench that bench
tonight is absolutely ridiculous you
know the players that are on there um so
I think for for them to hit the ground
running the way they have done I think
especially Dau and gradi at such a young
age speaks Williams for them and I think
pep science players that he knows has
got progression in in them as well so we
haven’t seen the end product take it
take it way back when Jon Stones first
came to the football club if you have a
look at him now he’s is a completely
different animal to the person and
player that he was when he first came in
the door people would say that um
previously or when he first came in he
would give you a chance defensively if
you have a look at him now he’s reliable
consistent and dependable the three
things that you say as a as a footballer
you want against your name especially as
a Defender but now he’s he’s got a Next
Level into his game and one of the games
I can’t remember what was he’s
underlapping inside the 18 yard box as a
center back and I’m like wow that’s
Progressive when you you look at someone
who we’re seeing those levels even
though it’s someone we’ve we’ve known
for Years Phil foden the team he scored
the most against in the league is
Brighton he’s in great form just a man
enjoying his football how much of a joy
is he to watch at the moment he’s an
absolute pleasure to watch um you know I
love watching him you can tell how he is
and knowing him that he just loves
playing football and this season you
know I think ph’s been excellent for the
last two or three seasons but because
there’s been like a de bruy in the team
or a howand in the team that sort of
take the spotlight he under the radar a
little bit uh this season especially
when Kevin’s been out injured for so
long and Ling’s been out Jack’s been out
you know for somebody so young to take
that mantle of it’s as if I’m going to
be the main man today this is my time to
go and do it you know his goals his
assists and his all around performances
whether he’s playing in the middle
whether he’s playing wide he’s just a
fantastic football to watch and he not
just one of the young best players in
Europe he’s one of the best players in
Europe at the minute absolutely and
obviously we’ve got to mention Julian
Alvarez as well and a similar guy
someone who stepped up in in the absence
of of Harland and has really paired
really well with you know foden in the
absence of De bruy and those those young
talents coming through has been
incredible to watch it’s something that
we will talk about a lot more over the
course in the runup to kickoff this
evening but we can say a first hello
down in Brighton to FG and Michael Brown
hello to you
both yes thank you very much Ellen
welcome to the American Express Stadium
it is with great pleasure to say I am
joined by Manchester City Legend Michael
Brown brownie first things first let’s
take in the location around where we are
the away section on our left hand side
Thursday night fixture here in Brighton
long journey yeah long journey not too
bad but you know what this is a place I
enjoyed coming just sat over there and
that premier league title was delivered
FG so great memories here it’s a
difficult place to come we know that at
times an interesting Brighton side but
we hope for a great night at football
happy to have the journey you know down
the m6 on the 25 on the 23 so hopefully
a good night of football hopefully a
very very good night for the away fans
behind and everyone watching on Matt Day
live let’s talk about the Manchester
City team then to start any surprises
looking at the starting lineup here we
go again isn’t it right so who’s going
to play where is Kevin De bruyne going
to be an advanced position with Alvarez
you know the interesting one is it no
docu no Jack greish um in the wider
areas and understand that at times with
this team who you’re coming up against a
little bit more energy and Bernardo in
Phil Ford in in possible wider positions
that can happen but you know a nice
little partnership in defense as well as
isn’t it AK and AI so lots to think
about really really really strong team
it is a really strong team it feels like
we’re so lucky as well to have the
strength and depth like you said to be
able to leave players like Jack and
Jeremy on the bench we’ve seen Jeremy
dcu’s influence From the Bench as well
which gives us a lot of confidence but
the players on the pitch Phil foden has
been exceptional we speak about him all
the time on mat Day live and for for
great reason left hand side today or is
it still how how can you guess could he
play on the left could he play on the
right could he come inside and he’s he’s
gonna move around I think that’s what’s
really good now and and against the
Brighton side as well who will move you
around the spaces are going to be there
so you will be drifting inside when you
follow other players and he should get a
little bit of room get turned around and
that that you know at that point really
comfor he’s Progressive in all the
things he does and not only that now
he’s getting goals to his game he is
getting goals indeed and a man who gets
goals gets trophies has won everything
in football Julian Alvarez is starting
in the absence of Erland Harland again
he’s a fantastic player and that’s the
energy we’re talking about as well from
Julian isn’t it well it is and what he
does as well he’s obviously Advanced
positions he loves to get his shots away
he’s understanding more now of the roles
that pep demands and what’s really good
he sets off the press so I think that’s
so important against a Brighton team who
will come out and then from there on
that support of Bernardo Kevin Phil Ford
can get around him and obviously support
wherever possible rodri kovage might be
the two little that’ll just hold a
little bit but um yeah know it’s it’s an
opportunity now to really play this game
with a bit high energy does this
Brighton team want you to press them or
do you think it’s very much because it
can be a point of sometimes like
previously especially under derer they
like teams that pressing because they
can help well they do and but they’ve
had so many changes they’re on a real
bad run at Burnley they didn’t play the
best they got Fortune Mich that mistake
that went under his foot so they’ll be
hurting they’ve had a big rest they’ had
enough time to get on that training
ground where the manager knows what he’s
doing so yeah dun will want to come out
so straight away I’ll wait for that
first one to come and that’s the trigger
and when you’re watching it the fans you
know it’s first we’re thinking what do
we do once that player comes out then
it’s the next pass the spaces start to
appear are they going to be brave enough
to do that against city they’re going to
try it but this is where the team Now
understand the traps they’ll wait for a
certain player wait for a trigger then
jump on on on down that but very good in
possession Brighton they are very good
in possession I mean it’s important to
note that we haven’t won her in the last
two seasons albe it we’ve been Champions
every time we arrived here we are still
Champions but just not quite yet this
year we’ll talk on the title race a
little bit later let’s look at that
Brighton team real quick Adam Lana is
the one I want to pick out a man who’s
who’s had such a sensational career and
goes under the radar but he’s still
playing at such a high level isn’t he
yeah and he understands the game he
won’t be phased at any point of it he’ll
just step into positions come get on the
ball comfortable whether somebody’s
around him top of the pitch Welbeck
Pedro is a brilliant player by the way
whether he’s going to play Down the left
or whether he can get him in an advanced
area the Midfield three there’s been a
lot of disruption there so I think
that’s one area City can Target young
Argentine and coming in at left back
possibly that could be key so whether
it’s going to be Ford and Bernardo at
those areas now so a brilliant game
tactically so much to see for us and um
that’s what we want don’t we in the
Premier League we’ve also got some good
views but we’ve also got some Intel from
the studio as well um I got told that
presenter Ellen wanted me and you to do
our best seagull S I thought Keith K was
going to do it oh well I tell you what I
heard Keith K was going to do it Keith
are you ready for it yeah I think you’ll
have a really good one what you think FJ
so how about Keith and Ellen we’re not
leaving you out of this Ellen give us
your best seagull sounds will you oh you
flicked it back on us I thought I was
setting him up but as is so typical with
FG he’s fired it back at us I’m going to
fire it back at him and say if you guys
do it first me and Keith will do it is
that right Keith yeah don’t show yeah
but as as suggested I want to say I’m
going to full disclosure here pre-show I
was only going to do it if FG did it
first I was trying to set him trying to
set him up as we so regularly do on this
show um well there’s my train of thought
completely gone uh back on to Brighton
though uh obviously I just a bit of
context there uh gone a bit viral this
week a boy who has won the European seag
goal Impressions championship and I
thought with the opposition tonight
being the seag goals how fitting would
it be for our our team down on the south
coast to try and mimic it but only we
will only do it I want to know how that
comes about how do you know you’re good
at making a seagull
noise it’s I think I think it’s he’s
quite a young kid and I feel like that’s
just the kind of thing do when you’re
about seven is just see a seag go and
it well this is what this is that that’s
the kind of thing I was doing at seven
you guys are already well well on your
way to incredible
careers right um so three changes for
Brighton uh including the keeper we
mentioned that Adam Lana though uh
550th career game that is quite some
achievement also calls Manchester City
the best club in the world I mean he’s
right isn’t he um but just a word on on
him and the experience that he brings I
think he’s he’s a fantastic player um
you think he’s got 5 550 upmc’s which is
a remarkable Landmark but at the same
time you know he’s so many injuries so
how many games you know probably touch
in 650 700 games if he hadn’t and the
injuries have really held him back I
love watching him play he’s great on the
ball great awareness um maybe he’s the
the other side talking about being a bit
older now his legs have gone a little
bit but he’s got such a good football
isn’t he yeah I think his understanding
of the game you can tell he’s the purest
of the game you he’s one step ahead
knows where the balls go and knows where
he needs to be in those when he arrives
in those areas he’s got excellent
execution as well absolutely and you
know you look at the the way that
Brighton have have brought players
through particularly from the South
American Market you know we look at
young Valentin Barco at the minute he’s
their next star how important is it that
Valentin Barco to be coming in his his
first taste of of football in Europe and
in the Premier League to have those kind
kind of figures you know Lanas Welbeck
you know these really experienced heads
yeah Louis dunk as well you know it’s a
big big game for him tonight you know
there’s no tougher game to get thrown
into than um playing against Manchester
City whether it’s going to be ffing or
bernado Silva if he does play at field
back but you know you’ve got to give
Brighton a lot of credit as well the
recruitment they’ve had over the last
four five six seven years has been
outstanding you know they find these
gems don’t they they bring them in they
play them to sell them on and you think
they’re not going to be able to do that
again but they consistently produce
these players through and you know
recruitment strategy they’ve got there
and um the recruitment of the managers
as well has been fantastic they buy into
it and they play in a certain way and
touch on it there like they play in a
certain way like they’ve got an identity
and they recruit to that identity and
that always makes it easier and if
you’re a player that you go in and you
know that the what’s required of you and
why you’ve been brought to the football
club and then it’s a case where that’s
your fundamentals now going to express
yourself the pair of you both both
former managers what do you think and
you know is that an identity you that
you like I love watching them play um
it’s risky is really risky what they’re
doing and they’re Brave in what they do
um all players that they’ve got out
there that playing tonight on the bench
a lot of injuries at the minute they’re
so comfortable on the ball um but the
identity is what the manager wants them
to do you know they they make the pitch
really big um they take risks yeah they
take risks and without the ball they
like to go man Forman in players and
make it difficult for them to play so
it’s Brave to do it and it’ll be
interesting to see how Brave they are
tonight I think that might be one of the
for some some of the team selection
tonight why not playing with wide
players so that then so people are
playing full back or Wing backs for
Brighton they won’t have somebody as a
direct opposition they’ be going and
playing inside of the pitch and the
movement can cause them problems and
then that might then they might be go
into a false defensive position because
they they can’t go and follow their
their Runners so it might be why we’re
not playing wide players and we playing
inside inside forwards or as you say
like Midfield players playing off of the
line because you’re going to dominate
possession and and then you’re trying to
pull people like Le dun you want to pull
him out of that back line uh if you can
do they’ve struggled since the turn of
the year in February they they beat
sheffeld United 5 nil but since then
have only scored four goals they’ve only
they haven’t won in each of their last
four they have got some significant
injuries though Ferguson matoma Gilmore
lampy
estupinan it’s a challenge for them you
know how how much are the results that
they’ve seen recently a reflection of of
the damage that’s been done to their
squad for injuries I think it might even
be a case of like because I think
probably about two three months ago
there was a lot of publicity about the
manager and his position at the football
club whether he was going to stay where
he’s going to extend his contract or
there might be an interest from
somewhere else and I I don’t think that
helped the football club at that
particular time
the whether the manager stays whever
he’s committed him his future um is down
to Brighton and down and down to the
manager but does it have an effect can
have an effect yes the end of the season
now it’s about finishing well finishing
strongly and that will be what
every football club will try and have
their their kpis the key performance
indicators and the manager will be
stressing to them this is what I want
you to do uh and they want to see
progression in that as well as in like
because then come to the end of the
season going to be new players coming in
or do they do do they need new players
or can they progress with the players
that they’ve got so every opportunity
every game now is an opportunity for
Brighton players to impress the manager
it’s a weird Time of the Season where
some teams are playing quite a lot and
then you’ve got teams who are playing
not really at all and Brighton are one
of those teams few of the players to
recently have said they actually prefer
this churn of games however intense it
is just to have that
consistency will it be a challenge for
Brighton having not paid in I think 12
days I think probably before the game um
they’ll be seeing about the time rest
for other teams been able to work on
what we want to do against them they
wouldn’t necessarily be able to work in
anything because they’ve played
Wednesday Saturday they’re playing again
Thursday they’ve the game and Sunday so
um but as a player you want to play you
want to play You’ rather play absolutely
absolutely and um it helps if you’re
winning you know I say this all the time
you never hear players coming out and
saying they’re tired when they just won
a game you know it always tends to be
that when you’ve lost a game the mental
side of it as well so be interesting how
they start tonight whether they will be
a bit Rusty not having the games or
whether they fly out the blocks so
obviously the big talking tonight
talking point tonight the title race it
seems it’s that time of year where
Everyone’s Watching particularly last
night everyone’s watching the merys side
Derby not for any other reason
particularly if you’re a city fan other
than to be willing or never to see
Liverpool get beat um you can see on the
screens uh a closer look at the title
race um it seems like a long long time
since we beat Luton toown in our last
Premier League game um Arsenal and
Liverpool have played three times since
then but as we just mentioned
particularly after the result last night
it is in City’s hands just looking at
the results there Keith is is there
anything that you know coming up you you
want to pinpoint for for either City or
or the other two teams is what might be
a challenge I think it’s the next game
and City you got to focus on the next
game which which this evening is
Brighton and I don’t think there’ be any
other focus in that changing room apart
from the game tonight then as soon as
the game finished and you get the uh the
positive result then you move on to the
next one you can’t plan um your when
you’re going to win who’s going to drop
points you can only look after yourself
and you can only make sure that you do
your business which means that go out
perform entertain express yourself but
get the win Paul looking at at Liverpool
it just what’s happened there can you
can you pinpoint what’s happened no I I
think Liverpool a few weeks ago um were
winning a lot of games without playing
well um you know they were sort of
scraping through a lot a lot of the
fixures that they had um which is a sign
of a good team the same when you’re not
playing well it’s a sign of a good team
but I just thought to myself once it get
the end of the season you can only get
away with that for so long yeah um you
know the the Atlanta was out in Europe
hit them badly I don’t think anybody
would have foreseen them losing at home
to Palace or Arsenal that weekend was
just crazy you know and it was like I
think five six weeks ago Liverpool were
the favorites and Arsenal dropped out of
it after the lost and then um then it
was Arsenal the favorites then it says
after the last couple of weeks so it’s
so hard to call but you know I look at
Arsenal’s game at Tottenham away Derby
game seen Liverpool would into the as I
say Derby last night is huge huge
favorites as Arsenal well and anything
can happen and you know that could be
this that could be the sticky one for
Arsenal going into it but as Keith said
you know um the reason Manchester City
are so good is because they take each
game at a time they know they can’t
affect what’s happening elsewhere but
they also know that if they do their job
and they win their games they’ve won for
a all it’s always said and everyone
everyone goes you know I think as as
journalists and people who watch the
press conference yeah exactly and we’re
like really is it but it sounds like
that is genuinely the mindset as as Paul
says of the players yeah I think it’s um
you try and create that culture in the
football club where you the next game
within the squad is the most important
game because the players have got to
perform to get in the team next week and
it’s one of those so they they will all
have their jobs they all have their
roles and they will be given areas of
the pitch where they’re allowed to go
and express themselves but but again
every win you get you have to earn and
there’s things that City have to do
today to earn the the result and and
that’s what probably pet will be saying
to them do your job individually and
collectively that then that looks after
itself if everybody in your team does
their job you get positive results does
the the record at Brighton in the last
couple of Seasons away at Brighton you
know not not having won there do you
think that will wear on their minds I
think it’s you know as they said at the
start of the show I think it was FG
mentioned it you know still gone on to
be Champions will will that record weigh
on their minds a little bit I don’t
think it will look I think the SP the
special last season much sh about before
I think we’d already won the league yeah
you know and I’m not saying the players
were on the beach or did cele a little
bit too much I mean who am I almost on
the
beach I wasn’t celebrated a I don’t know
what the players saw there was a lot of
changes I don’t think you can read
anything into that too much you know the
players will be down there back to I
saying about each one game at a time
that the mentality of the squad and pep
and what he’s installed in on his his
career I remember last year after last
season after we beat Madrid and that was
the best performance I’ve ever seen at
home um and I was seeing some of the
staff and the players after the game
saying what a great result you must be
buzzing and they were like I think it
was Everton we’ve got Everton Saturday
yeah and that sets them apart where
there’s a lot of players a lot of teams
will still be dwelling on on that but
their first thought as soon as that game
had finished was the next game and and
that’s why they’re the best before we go
down to to FG and Michael Brown while
we’re talking about almost silly stats
um I’ve got one written down and it’s
always something that I I mean to ask
players and managers uh because I always
see it come up in the stats pack and
that is Brighton have failed to score in
all three of their midweek Premier
League games it always seems to me like
that is a nonsense stat and doesn’t
actually mean anything is that true um I
think it’s just some just board try to
look for the ridiculous stats they can
find yeah I you can find stats about
anything and then you can you can read
it’s how you read data you can make any
anything into it and again there’s some
fantastic uh analysts out there that can
give you some fantastic information how
relevant it is it’s one of those use it
if you need it or fall back on it if if
something goes wrong and you say oh well
that’s because of that just you can read
it how you want no one sat there
thinking we haven’t won on a a Tuesday a
Wednesday or a Thursday fair play um
let’s head back down to the MX where FG
and Michael Brown are right have you got
something for us
[Music]
Lads yes thank you welcome back to the
American Express Stadium as the players
are starting their warm up now then
brownie let’s talk about the title race
our week four points behind two games in
hand which team would you rather be in
this it’s so difficult isn’t it I’ve
been used to it for so long that
Manchester City in every tournament
latest stage of Champions League Cup
competitions it’s always a bit of a
catch up isn’t it these games that
you’ve got to slot in but this team they
understand the load they understand this
business end to the season that we
always look for the determination now
and they realize they go into that mode
going this is it now the focus gets real
and generally have’ been brilliant with
a return at this time of the season so
let’s talk about goal difference because
of course we know all about goal
difference in title races Arsenal’s goal
difference is 12 goals better than Man
City at the moment um how much part do
you think that could potentially play FG
come on goal difference let’s let’s
forget about the goal difference this
moment in time let’s all does the
results just run smoothly start with
this one it’s is the one in front of
youly a difficult um run ahead of away
games can can be quite tough look at not
in Forest Fulham are really good at home
Spurs away is also there’s another one
to consider but listen goal difference
could always come into it Arsenal are
growing in confidence because they’re
scoring those goals but they’re all
still looking they’re everybody’s saying
we’ve seen book makers say the job is
done I don’t think the job is done this
team don’t underestimate anybody and
that’s what’s really good but um work to
do but you know City are in a favor
position at this moment in time they are
in a great position let’s talk about
Liverpool then shall we um a bit of a
shock that they lost the Derby in the
way that they did yesterday um where
does that put them in this title race do
you think do you know what I was working
on the game last night and actually I’m
watching the screens come in and we had
to comment on it I’m like do you know
they missed chances but they were
nowhere near to the level so in the
space of a couple of weeks what the
European game has done to him the
Crystal Palace game the pressure is just
mounted and have seemed to be falling
away so that was one worry wasn’t it
Liverpool they’re still there they’re
still within a chance of winning it
that’s for certain so it’s not over
Jurgen klopp will say yes it is but um
subject to other teams but that’s not
the case they will still be hungry in
that dressing room but um isn’t a nice
sign when you’re watching that game that
Liverpool start to slip up but this is a
title race you know the complacency is
key there’ll be none of that from this
team and pep will that result give these
players a bit more of an extra boost do
you think um I’m not sure about that I
think they will realize um because of
what the last week has has took out of
the players how difficult this game will
be it’s the uncertainty of what Brighton
are going to bring they’re being
excellent with the way they move it
around and and the way they do things
differently so they’ll realize every
game now so important every training
session uh the topup group who doesn’t
play ready and that’s in the morning
whether they need to go again cuz the
next four five could come straight back
in so it’s it’s important times but you
can look at Arsenal as well can you some
of those fixtures FG they have to go to
Manchester United the north London Derby
at the weekend it’s a Spurs side who are
hurting they’re in consistent at the
moment in time they going for a
champions league position so key games
it’s excellent isn’t it a it’s a
brilliant run in for people all around
the world watching this incredible
Premier League yet again watching this
incredible Premier League yet again
indeed but how important is the
experience of the group of players
behind us like you said in being in this
situation three in a row now on
potentially if they well if they win
this there will be a record four in a
row in the English Premier League um how
important is that experience because we
saw it last season with Arsenal that
perhaps at times they lacked it a little
bit and now I mean they have the
experience of that but they don’t have
the experience of going over the line
there I think if you look in the
dressing room don’t you you go straight
away with a captain k
being there done it he’s got everything
now and and he keeps driving that team
Kevin De bruyne he doesn’t get phased
does he he understands it Phil for and
now he’s also so much more advanced
mature in his performances and again a
know we can keep going on right
throughout the team harland’s come into
City and had a little bit of a goal but
still you know not as experienced but
there’s you know there’s four or five
the goalkeeper who’ve done it season
after season week after week and that’ll
be so important in that dresser Bernardo
Silva as well
and these players I mean we’ve had a lot
of talk from everyone in the media I
didn’t mention Rod as well I was just
say I was going say R Ruben Diaz we got
literally a squad of 11 yeah of course
so this group of players as well will
they be watching other fixtures because
they say that they don’t watch it and
you know we hear it a lot will they be
watching other fixers when you’re
looking at teams around you are you
watching fixers they say they’re not
necessarily watching the fixtures of
what of what’s forecast going forward
but if it’s a game this weekend they
we’ll have a little look they’ll turn TV
on they’ll start to to get into the game
and hope it goes their way that’s just
human nature is it not yeah you know
you’ve got to have a little look see
what your opponents against how they’ve
got on where you can find a weakness uh
but they’re getting used to that sort of
position but again it’s about your own
performances these games now it’s so
close isn’t it but such an important few
weeks well this is the best time to be a
city fan and the best time to be a
football fan as well um so back to our
thing about the seagulls Ellen told us
that she would do it if I do it so I
agree but you just go first
dick off first so I think they must have
they must have heard Keith during that I
was like Keith Casi we’re not going to
do it we’re not going to do it um all
right we we bit of stun still haven’t we
on the seag Go Front we’ll see we will
see um got goal difference it can’t can
it can it come down to that there’s
every possibility that has done before
um the minute I hope it doesn’t um but
what I will say you know our last three
League games you know four against Villa
um four against Palace five against
Luton so if we keep that going not at
the end of the season we’re going to be
back in it again go difference you know
um I genuinely my own personal opinion
don’t think it will come to that um I
hope it doesn’t at the minute
anyway when we talk about the players
not looking more than one game ahead
they’re not going to be thinking about
goal difference are they or or is it
just going to be a bit of will it be a
bit of both will pep just be like go and
score as much as you can but maybe not
from a thinking about gold Defence
perspective again I think I touched on
it the when I said about the the
fundamentals about how the team
functions which means and it’s it’s
about repetition going out and making
sure that when the ball’s in this era
these number these players number uh
numbers are in this area when when the
ball goes there it’s all those sort of
fundamentals that you that you work on
uh that you haven’t got time to think
about um have we scored that one or we
haven’t scored that one because it’s
about getting possession back and then
recreating and then again more
repetition about getting the ball in
certain areas getting numbers into the
box and creating goal scoring
opportunities on one day I when things
go well there one of those Man City can
beat anybody four five 6 nil on another
day it might just be a one nil or a two
n we’ve seen it haven’t we um I don’t
think my heart could take gold
difference I don’t know I’m prepared for
that for that this time around um do get
in touch with us tonight on uh on
WhatsApp the number is at the bottom of
your screen we would love to hear your
questions for our guests tonight we’ll
start with one from Lewis uh Keith would
you rather play against Harland uh and
Alvarez or and Paul who would you rather
play
with um Alvarez again harand I don’t
think you can play as an individual man
for man against him you’d have to be
reliant on your back three or your back
your back four um to be tight and not to
allow many spaces Alvarez I think is a
player that arrives on your shoulder
arrives in spaces that you don’t really
get that that that that sort of contact
with harand the physical side of it
um again he’s a big strong boy as well
and and he’s got to turn of pace and and
he can finish so again personally uh I’d
rather play against Alvarez than than
Holland who would you rather play with
let’s throw back to old school and go
big man little man com yeah I think
earling and that’s no disrespect to to
hul is either you know I think the way
he occupies two Center halfs in his own
sometimes three Center halfs in his own
that would allow space for me to to buzz
around and run
into um let’s you I know you said no no
disrespect to alvare there so let’s
let’s hype him up the next question from
Matt what does Alvarez offer in this
current lineup that is different to
Harland yeah I love them they’re
completely different players you know
keep said there plays on the shoulder um
he can come off um the center halfs and
cause them Problems by getting little
pockets in between the defense and
Midfield um he shoots from everywhere
and anywhere right foot left foot he’s
not scared to miss um and the most
important thing I think for Pep is
without the ball he starts the Press you
know his work rate is absolutely
phenomenal I think his attitude his
mentality CU he doesn’t always start um
you never see him with his bottom lip
hanging out you know and if it’s Off the
Bench or he’s in a starting lineup he
always he always produces whether it’s
goals or assists and and influences the
team you know and he’s he’s an Absolut
hero I was out in Argentina a couple of
months ago and everywhere I was
expecting to be more messy honestly than
Alvarez but Alvarez was everywhere so
there such a young age I think his
mentality for how big a superstar he is
cuz he is I don’t think we quite get
that here in this country you know and
he’s he’s won absolutely everything at
such a young age and I say the
influences a game every single time he’s
on the pitch yeah and I think he’s he’s
added to his game as well the ability to
play off of a off of a Harland as well
the cut the games when he played earli
on early on in the season before harand
got injured he was playing dropping deep
and finding spaces um which is something
that but he can play as a lone Striker
as well and been sometimes when you
team’s in possession bit all you got to
do is occupy two center backs which
means don’t get marked go and play in
between them and then get involved in
that little ball down the down the side
the city got a great Knack of finding
but it doesn’t just happen you’ve got to
be in the right place at the right time
and make those good runs then again
slightly different than playing coming
playing off of Harland where you’re
playing deeper and trying to find the
gaps in front of Harland the Argentinian
fans credit him for win the World Cup as
much as Messi yeah they say because if
Alvarez is the team Messi doesn’t get to
do what he wants to do cuz he was doing
I think he missed the first two games
didn’t he when arent really struggled in
the world cup and then he came into the
team with four goals but he was the one
he was doing the work rate for two
players and letting Messi go and do his
stuff and he’s getting all the credit
for that which I’m delighted about for
him and you you look at sort of in the
the way we saw him in the runup to that
World Cup and and then you know
following it and into this season
everyone was like how is he going to
keep him how’s pep going to keep him
happy how’s how’s he going to balance
this because you have got a kid who like
you say his stock is I I can’t even say
on on the up it’s through the roof’s
he’s won everything and like you say
Peppa’s found this way to fit him in and
and play him but then also on the
occasions when he doesn’t play he he’s
still is ready to come off the bench
he’s ready to be called upon and and you
never see I mean you don’t see any of
them complain really but you you never
see him you know like you say show the
bottom lip or show any sign of
frustration he just seems so happy and
that’s real credit to him and his
attitude um and also credit to the
changing room as well because the
changing room will understand what
there’s a player that’s a world star and
he’s not playing but the the changing
room won’t allow that player to to for
to affect his demeanor it’s one of those
make sure you’re on it you’re not
playing today but you might be on you
might go win the game you might be
starting next week I saw he did his his
first interview in English the other day
and that shows how comfortable and
confident he is that he’s you know we’ve
seen players in the past who plenty of
them don’t have English as their first
language but then also don’t don’t come
out and do the interviews they’re always
doing it with a translator but the way
he sat I could understand
Paul Paul needed a translator
translated and get it done um but you
know he he wants to push himself he
wants to and like not just on the pitch
this is within the the family and the
community of the club as well and is and
again it’s full credit to him as a
person and he’s he’s a young boy you I
think people forget that um his English
is actually better than my
English to get it done but um I just
love him I just think he’s a wonderful
person I know that I know for a fact
that everybody within the club loves him
as well because of how humble he is um
and you know there’s plenty of players
that can speak English that pretend they
don’t isn’t
there um a few more questions um let’s
go to someone who is another one is
coming to the squad and Sean and and
Oscar Bob really really made a a great
impression this season um it’s a a
message from a fan in Norway what do you
think Oscar Bob can achieve in the next
few
seasons more starts that’s got that’s
got to be his main name um I don’t know
I don’t know off the top me know exactly
how many games he started next year but
his progression will be adding to the to
the number of starts so if year on year
he’s adding to his starts he’s got a
progression in his career once he feel
once he feels that he’s not getting the
start then it might be a time to say
right well now I need another
opportunity got to look at that moment
once again amazing incredible isn’t it
it is for somebody so young but he’s
Tech he’s so natural and his technical
ability and what he done you know and um
he’s really really good in in tight
areas um about he’s got quick feet he’s
learning really good awareness you watch
him before he gets the ball he’s always
checking his shoulder he’s always got an
appreciation of where he is in the pitch
and where his teammates are on the pitch
um and you know I can only see ke I can
only see him being more and more
involved from now to end the season next
season as well because he’s a he’s a
wonderful Talent this is a moment that
that could be title defining it could
look you could look back on that and you
know he’s come through and has been the
star in that how important is it having
you know the likes of foden seeing
players who have come through um you
know even Rico Lewis to to some extent
come through and and made their Mark and
getting those regular starts how how
important will that be for him it will
be and look ph’s he’s a Shining Light um
for all the Academy kids not just like
Oscar Bob Rico Lewis M Hamilton all the
ones that have been involved this year
but even the ones below that you know it
F’s a leader for them they look at F
they look at his progression they look
how talking about spit his dummy out he
never done that and that’s ridiculous
clamor was for M loan um he he stayed
where he was he learned off the players
around him and now he’s he’s the one
that likes a Rico mik Hamilton and the
younger ones coming through now they’re
looking at Phil and saying that we’ve
got a real chance here and now with
Oscar being the next one coming in um
the young I remember when mck Hamilton
made his debut in Belgrade so good yeah
we were we were out there and the the
academy um had a game in the afternoon
and we’re speaking to Brian Barry Murphy
after it and he
said even for Micah to be in the squad
tonight it’s gave this his Squad the
biggest Buzz ever cuz it shows them that
there is a route into the first te
there’s a pathway the best club in the
world he said it just lifts the whole
Academy when they see these younger
players go in not just go in but staying
in the squad as well cuz you don’t get
that everywhere no you don’t you don’t
Pep’s always shown that he’s willing to
give these kids a chance and you know
the scary thing is you know in the 16s
18s and the 21s now there’s there’s a
lot more coming through as well strange
enough I um when I turned up tonight the
I think it was the 16s or the 18s were
out training um so had 10 minutes so
I’ve sat there and watched them and it’s
uh it was refreshing to watch um and
listen to because because I was able to
listen and the coach was on about
repetition repetition repetition and
it’s one of the thing that impressed me
was when the coach was speaking the
players were attentive as well as they
were listening to every word that you
said not every single pass and drill
went well and went right but again they
were encouraged to express themselves
and again repetition repetition is well
good habits as as a a young professional
you’ve got to pick up good habits and
then that will take you and set you on
the pathway then you’ve got a chance and
great management as well to former
managers in the studio with us today uh
time to look back at or look forward to
the the two managers taking charge
tonight pep goola and Roberto derer um
this is going to be a tactical master
class from these two isn’t it it has
been you know think peps openly come out
with his his admiration for deser and
how he sets up his teams How brave he is
um remember when he first came to
Country and not a lot of people here had
had really heard of him and were
wondering what he’s like and I think pep
was one of his first man maners to come
up and say that he’s he’s going to be
fantastic through premier league and the
way he sets his teams up the confidence
he gives his teams as well and there’s a
reason why there’s a lot of rumors about
him going to other clubs a lot no
disrespect to writing about a lot of big
clubs in Europe at the minute because
his reputation is really really high for
how he sets up his team how he gets his
players played individually but more
importantly as a team we spoken about
the stock of players Keith his stock as
a manager is incredibly High yeah
definitely strange enough I watched the
documentary on him about his PR into
into coaching into management and and
some of his managerial decisions of when
he’s left teams when he’s the teams that
he’s chosen to go to I think uh
personally I like the fact that he’s
brave enough to out of possession to go
man for man uh which is good and you
have to have trust and belief in your
players But ultimately that means that’s
time spent on the on the training ground
and you have to instill that in in into
your players because Hees say all right
we’re going man for man there’s more to
it than just saying well that’s my man
because it’s one of those follow him
every where it’s that game understanding
and you need time on the training ground
and you can tell he is a coach but he’s
a coach that demands and he doesn’t
accept people saying well I didn’t
understand it’s when well we will go and
spend more time on that training B
because you will do what I need you to
do and but the basis of it is to make
you a better player are these games I
know it was it was said when he came up
against Liverpool but are these games
auditions kind of for for him going
forward well you see it as a challenge
um and again no matter what I’m as the
result you know uh any team that gets
beat by man city is not a disgrace but
you won’t want to be disgraced as in so
you know every manager you have to
accept the sometimes you’re going to get
beat but you don’t want to get rolled
over and that would be the thing today
he will say right this is my identity
this is how I want my team to play and
he will be putting demands on his team
no matter what the result is he will be
expecting his team to perform how he
wants him to perform does he remind you
of Pep what similarities do you see
there yeah a little bit The Players love
him as well you know and what does do he
takes the pressure off players obviously
he’s not happy if it doesn’t work but
he’s very quickly and I’ve seen some
interviews when they’ve lost games he’s
very quickly to come out and say this is
my this is how I set up the team you
know he’s not blaming the players for
the performance or a lack of effort or
not carrying out what they wanted to do
in the training ground he he takes all
the pressure himself and takes the blame
himself and players really appreciate
that you know he doesn’t dig anybody out
he’s he has someone that sets his team
up how to play he’s very focused now he
wants to do it and if it doesn’t come
off it’s it’s take the responsibility
for that and not not put it in the
players that might be where I went wrong
as a
manager I was blame you players Yeah you
mentioned it just simple but we can take
a look at what Pep Guardiola said about
the opposition manager in his press
conference
yesterday the more that you face him
does it get easier or does it get harder
the the more you know each other hard
admiration is growing up every every
season so they had lot of problems
important
players was held and uh was sold
and um like co co at um mallister C so
they’re really really important players
for they have a lot of injures they play
through
competitions but the way they play
always is there always is there
so
um has done he has I’ve done is doing an
incredible incredible job in
bright well pep mentioned it there and
we haven’t really touched on it yet but
you look at the the job that mallister
is doing at Liverpool and we heard
before the show that you know Brighton
pushing towards another top 10 finish
but you know the their hopes of being in
Europe once again pretty much over is it
worth seeing how good a job they are
doing considering how many key players
they’ve lost particularly when you look
at the star McAllister’s become at
Liverpool mallister cedo who was
outstanding for them then you look at
injuries you know always said before
Ferguson matoma you know they’re all big
sort of I think 7 eight injuries that
we’ve got at the minute and four or five
of them would probably be starters
guaranteed starters as well you know so
to think that they’re going to be
pushing with the players that they’ve
lost um in transfers and the transfer
fees they’ve gotten everything else in
injuries have had last season and still
to get a top 10 that’s it’s massive
massive massive credit for for Brighton
and and how they perform and they keep
doing it year after year you know
remember a few years ago I’m thinking to
myself they can’t keep losing their
manager they can’t keep selling the best
players and sustain the success that
they’re having and progress the
progression that they’re having and they
keep doing it and it’s it’s huge credit
to the
club well we’re going to go back to FG
and Michael Brown uh in our standoff of
who will be uh who will be the first to
make a seag goal noise we’re not we’re
not going first but let’s go down to see
their thoughts on the two managers in
the dogouts
tonight yes thank you welcome back to
the American Express Stadium as the
players are taking some shots behind us
hope we don’t get hit by ball brownie
well it’s guaranteed isn’t it I’ve just
got to keep my head down stay out of the
way as usual some of the strikes in the
background have been absolutely
Sensational and some of the saves just
like that one from Stefan let’s talk
about desery the opposition manager a
man who’s so so so high rated in the
world of football and rightly so yeah is
is one of those situations where we see
a manager with unique tactics and he
being able to step on the training
ground in front of the group and be able
to change those group of players in
different formations in different times
and I speak to Billy Gilmore about him
actually and he said just the detail of
what he gives you and the and the and
how he simplifies what he wants from you
and where your next passes and where the
space that you need to be in how he
splits the pitch up into different
environments and he’s come to he’s come
to England now and approaching four 400
games 40% win rate so not only is he
playing in a mega attractive way he’s
got results he’s getting a great name
for himself um and let’s be honest it’s
a Brighton side who’ve sold a lot of
players so they’ve used the most players
in all the situations so everybody in
that Squad are getting rotated round and
still to be in the position they are in
the Premier League I think it’s
fantastic oh absolutely is fantastic and
they had European football as well of
course let’s talk about the
characteristics of players in his team
they deserie plays a real high press
that means you’ve got to have Fitness
levels you got to have willingness to
run and no matter what happens whoever
comes into the side we see there’s a
19-year-old young lad making his second
opponent of bright today they have that
energy and they have that understanding
and that is all from the manager isn’t
it hey from the manager until you
understand in the studio Paul diov loved
the breast he ran around everywhere
Keith K who I played in front so I was
the middleman in between was the one who
say in that press you come back here
don’t you go too far away from me even
though he had the pace so Keith K could
play in a high press team because he has
bace to to get up the pitch and recover
in One V one situation so high press
entertaining Flur players who can move
the ball around who have freedom to get
on the ball and make things happen and
that’s great isn’t it that you can
actually think well it’s okay my manager
is not going to say anything if I try
and take it an extra touch go past
someone a little bit of flare in The
Wider areas and recruitment he has been
essential and maybe the manager just
just in the last window wasn’t best
pleased and we’ve seen a slight drop off
and a slight frustration from him yeah
we’ve definitely seen that but what we
also have seen from him throughout his
time in England is the Elegance of when
he speaks and the Elegance of him with
the media he never really seems to be
like phased by anything he takes
everything in his stride um and he’s not
really coming across as someone who’s
panicking in two even though they’re
going through a bit of a strain spell I
think he’s getting frustrated I think um
you know when you’re winning and every
everybody’s flying everything’s going
well everyone’s saying good things about
you when you don’t get those results at
the end of the day and it builds up a
little bit more the frustration is there
U but you know fantastic to see wonder
where his future’s going to be how long
can he stay in this stadium with his
team we will soon see because he was
mentioned with a lot of clubs he was
indeed and yeah we will soon see um a
word on the stadium it’s absolutely
Lovely isn’t it fantastic stadium has
been for such a long time wonderful
surface so you can play great football
I’d love to see brownie Keith girl and
Paul dickov on this behind us but we’re
going to head back to the studio
now Keith a word on what it was like to
play with uh that Michael Brown
excellent to be honest as a lad uh he
was a young player when I came here
great enthusiasm loved the tackle had
ability and had an KNE for goal I think
his KNE for goal came more I think he
scored more go at Sheffield United but
spectacular goals as well and he’s gone
on and went on to have a very good
career I think a Darlington lad wasn’t
he yeah don’t tell him that though yeah
he he he won’t be listening he won’t be
listen oh he was
limited um so Sunday marks a major
milestone in pep guardiola’s career he
will take charge of his 300th Premier
League game it’s never too early to
start building up to these things so we
have got a game for you tonight Lads if
you cast your ey
along the bottom of the screen we have
got 11 managers their outlines who have
taken charge of more than 300 Premier
League games all you need to do is just
tell me who they are um do play along at
home WhatsApp us if you know who any of
those are you’ve got the numbers so
there are more than the 11 who have
taken charge but these are just the top
11 because that’s all we could fit on
the
screen so any any numbers there ring a
bell of who who you might suggest I can
give your names not number let’s go Alex
yes correct benger yes correct Sam
allise
yep Harry
rnap that correct you read that premier
league as well y three he is
641 there he is down at the bottom of
your screen D four down yeah Mo
correct come on
CL how many clop done
200 no Klo
no so six
more six more go go through the teams
got the top five CL does have more than
300 he’s just not in the not in the top
11 didn’t make the screen Premier League
yeah Premier League so you’ve got you’ve
got the big ones you’ve got the big
hitters the the top five so we’re just
working way back down trying to think of
the clubs
now should I give you should I give you
a clue come on we spoken about in
prematch I believe you might have played
played golf with him
recently there you go he’s my Goin as
well you should have got that one he’ll
be texting in on the WhatsApp better
manager than he and player than he was
griend right so just five to
go and we’re fast approaching kickoffs
no no PR Eagles um
still
umal we’ll give you one more guess and
then we’re going to roll on go on WE
what we’ll do is we’ll save that for
half time it’s a good game we can get on
we can get on Safari yeah I’ll be
watching you um I’ll be watching you
right let’s go back down pitchside at
the MX FG and Michael Brown
yes thank you welcome back to the MX
it’s time for our final thoughts brownie
as we see the players doing their final
preparations for the game and how you
feeling this is always the time now when
you’re in this position those last
couple of Sprints the movement then you
set off into that tunnel the supports
just get behind you give you that last
bit of a cheer um but it’s Focus time
now last bit of it in that dressing room
you’re ready pads detail just getting
that you know a little bit of hydration
yet understanding tactically what’s
expected but real key moment now the
concentration levels are high as you can
see the concentration levels are really
really high from this team and they all
seem to have a game face well they do
you know they just know it’s not
everything has got to be bang on those
1% that little bit difference is off
they go now down in towards the tunnel
area once they go into that dresser room
these are these are the times now they
get a little bit of a minute they sit
down and wait and then Pep Guardiola
that’s where he’s the best isn’t he
steps up gives him those little last
little bits with a support staff and
then it’s game time isn’t it those last
few moments and off you come into the
stadium ready for such a big game so
important now every minute every game at
this moment time to deliver the title
and then players like we touched on
before they know that this group of
players this club as a whole they really
do know what it takes to do this so
being in this position is super super
it’s a privilege for City fans isn’t it
yeah it’s a privilege but you know what
it’s not just the team there we see it’s
all as I say the support staff the
substance going in now players who have
not made it everybody is supporting and
getting ready in that dressing room
that’s what’s a great team in that it’s
not individuals you know look at other
clubs at this moment in time it’s all
about me or know somebody else it’s a
real Unity here and that’s the
difference everybody’s ready and walking
around and saying where can we help you
what can we do how can we make you get
this over the line that’s what’s
important isn’t it you know and the
support and I you know if it’s a player
even in your position you know you might
play the next one get behind him and and
ultimately these are the times now that
change games they are indeed and they
are the supporters that help the fans
the players long a very very long trip
on a Thursday evening um amazing support
and it’s not full yet because we’re so
we’ve still got so much time to kick off
um but that’ll be full tonight and the
atmosphere will be great in there and me
and brownie will be back at full time so
let’s head back to the studio who
Newcastle manager now these two still
playing the game we’re playing paying
any attention at all to the the finals
thoughts
from weren listening they’re still
playing the game uh it’ll be back at
halim keep getting your guesses in on
the WhatsApp uh oh here we go well
that’s who really we should have been
doing the the seagull noises I thought
that was
brownie so we’re still in a seagull
standoff we’ll see uh See It full time
if anyone plucks up the courage to do it
out of us five on the on the show
tonight um your final thoughts before we
uh we head into kickoff that’s that’s
fast approaching Paul looking forward to
the game two team that that do play um
expensive football um but I just know I
think I stayed at the very start of if
City plays they can do and there’ll be
anybody in you know I think the with the
results other night they’re known that
we have to win um I can’t see anything
other than a man City win score
prediction I’m going to go 3-1 3-1 y
Keith I’ll be honest with you this is
this um this is the first time that I’ve
U done the show and been
not as confident oh and I’m and I’m
there thinking like so is that me is it
because of the the football I’ve been
watching the results that have been
coming uh and then I’m thinking so then
I’ve just been doing me homework looking
back I’m thinking this has got two n
written all over two n okay that was the
longest answer we’ve had for a score
prediction but we love the background
information to it we’re going to hand
over to your commentary team Michael
Brown is with Ali man
[Music]
[Applause]
well thank you Alan welome to a chil
damp Amic Stadium a great deal has
happened since the Blues last played a
Premier League fixture a heartbreaking
Champions League exit a gritty FA Cup
semi-final Victory Arsenal and Liverpool
have both played three times in the
league since to depose City’s leadership
of the division that they grabbed by
beating Luton Town five won 12 days ago
indeed the blues start here at Brighton
sitting in third but well aware that
their title Destiny resides in their
control win their remaining six matches
and they will be the champions for an
unprecedented fourth year in a row first
things first though they must win here
at the AMX at a ground where only two
opponents have emerged Victorious so far
this
season well there is a reality that the
homide are currently in a bit of a slump
with just one win in their last seven
games
