you before Aiden when you were in the
saddle this is now going to be maybe
your thing
yeah we’re going to have to do more of
it I I retired with no plan for the
future and uh like 90% of the world then
yeah yeah so here I am and let’s see
what the other world other side of the
camera is well we’re going to be
absolutely thrilled to have you and of
course a lot of people will be saying
you know just a jump but you love the
flat don’t you yeah I love flat racing
I’ve always followed it I love the
pedigrees and my brother Trends in
Ireland and the flat so I’ve always yeah
big interest in flat ring yeah also a
rather good jump Chucky in his day and
uh not a good jump jockey in his day Rob
that’s for sure definitely not not a
jockey got bit color about you g you’re
looking you’re looking healthy I a
little bit of a break in Spain yeah well
you probably haven’t seen me for a
little while no doubt viers be happy
that that I haven’t been on you know the
Elation of Aiden to unfortunately you
got me back yeah so but it’s great to be
back and you know I’ve missed the last
three or four weeks see if you could get
your first nap over the line uh since
the St show started in October but I the
producers and I come in so just still
waiting for that first win when is it
coming when is that winning nap coming
is it coming today well H we’ll get to
that we’ll get to that when paty Brenham
was looking over his shoulders in the
last at Entre on Saturday for that
retirement winner turned out he waited
until Wednesday at chel because tripley
fly I found one too good turned out it
would be the St mate but I’m getting
closer that’s what it’s all about man we
haven’t seen for a couple of weeks
either let’s open up the trading floor
then go to the betting jungle cave and
it is Johnny Simpson top Trader at

Newbery it absolutely and you know what
we’re going to hone in on a little bit

it’s Sam twist and Davis on his way to
Banger look at that he’s got the filter
behind him he’s got the coat on is that
a coat so you can shed a few pounds Sam
on your way to the track I know just the
time I was getting up this morning it
was still only two three degrees all
right wel come along Sam 9 27 winners
for the year before we look into what
sort of a season it’s been for you and
what might still lie ahead great to have
Aiden with us this morning one of your
pals yeah no it was anry was different
from for many uh reason but we’d have
stayed together probably the last 14
years at entry um so to be staying alone
was almost a bit bit weird and actually
really kind of home to home that how
much he we’re going to miss him um in
the wearing room and not just in
occasion like that but so much more down
the line I told you once you retire you
become like a Godlike figure don’t you
everyone loves you all of a sudden even
Sam twist and Davis great soon yeah so
he’s going to Banger today right he’s
got four rides should we try and get him
to cuz you know what they’re like they
try and got trainers to appease and all
that sort of stuff you might just be
able to get the one we want the buzzer
all right right okay yeah let’s let’s
see if I can put them through it well
we’re starting with a 50 to1 shot in the
first Sam for Henry Daly it’s a very
famous gun
if anyone’s going to get this over the
line it’s you well we’ll do our best um
he’s been waiting for a drer surface so
hopefully that’ll help him get round
he’s obviously pulled up last twice so I
think he’ll be one down the line
hopefully um when he’s handicapped he
might find life easier oh look there’s
his disclaimer look he’s already got out
of it but look 50 to1 shot been waiting
for dry ground this is the industrialist
of course he did show a little bit form
earlier on hang on we’re talking about a
price crash all of a sudden yeah I can
see why your nap hasn’t won yet if
absolutely I’m not going for the

a right chance it’s bar cers for Dad and
this is a really consistent horse you
wouldn’t say he’s got you know too much
in Hand of the handicappers but if he
runs his race you know the others are
going to have to go some to beat him
aren’t they well his biggest asset is
he’s incredibly consistent I think in a
race like that when you look at a few of
them um have been in and out obviously
Oliver green horse looks quite solid but
the same time so our lad so hopefully
give his best and he’ll put up another
bold show yeah okay that’s bad Kan is
then your second ride and we’ve got
Torio who comes up in the novice
handicap there’s a hot pot in there for
Harry Durham Beth bar I think that’s
rough his name who showed his hand last
time out but again another guy that
comes here in
form yeah I had a good chat to Gavin
Shar this morning said he’s very
straightforward good jumper Grand way of
going obviously he was a good second and
a handicap last time and what was quite
testing conditions is a slightly drier
surface today will hopefully suit and
yeah fingers cross he he can run run a
big one is that like a sort of like
unspoken rule that you’ve got to call
the jockey that’s ridden the horse
before and stuff like that
um depends really yeah like get on with
them or not well well we we most of us
actually get on people asked me that
when I retired like oh is there anyone
you like literally I got on with
everyone in the way room and I can’t
name Manny lads who didn’t don’t get on
so it just I I never really did it that
much towards the end of my career CU I
prefer to make my own mind up but like
someone like Sammy or that because we
know each other so well I would give him
a ring just just talk about something
else as well but in general I prefer to
make my own mind up yeah do not hit the
front before the loss and all that sort
of stuff there’s a future for you in
this game if you say you liked everyone
Aiden I can tell you that much so that’s
Toro so you’ve got 50 to one shot with
hills in the opener in the 250 b c is
fours at the moment 6 to1 Toro now tell

older horses at newb um traveled well
that day so once again back he’s in back
into a four-year-old on bumper today so
hopefully that should suit he’s got a
little bit of experience and obviously
that the the surface drying out slightly
should suit as well so hopefully a big
run but it’s one of those days where we
got three like solid chances of just
hopefully one can go in I think he’s fa
actually Johnny let’s bring you in out
of all those rides that Sam’s got today
at Banger I love throwing Johnny a
curveball which has been the hot one is
it the bumper or B cus he the bumper
Horse by a by a clear margin that’s
really strong at nine to4 all right okay

think the buzzer is what what are we
putting pressure on him for not the
first come on man I think the bumper
we’re going to go for the bumper Sam and

entered plenty um he’s been declared and

with Master chewy he’s very versatile he
can go either way so he could possibly
start off in some of those very valuable
two myasa handicaps and then the same
time Wayne Matata is a little bit more
he has to go left so he could probably
start in some one of the two mile
handicap at cheltam in the October
meeting and then make a bit more of a
plan from there but a pair of them are
very exciting horses going forward and
hopefully see them winning plenty of
races it was a tough start to the season
Sam wasn’t it I was saying to Aid
earlier you know about what sort of
season you guys have had and losing
iight to move it obviously in the master
chewy colors you must have been staring
down the bowel at that point so get to

to Aiden probably Anthony honeyball has

able to speak to Aiden about a lot of
those although horse like kilb King
haven’t won um Aiden been obviously very
helpful in helping me get through on
them and hopefully now it’s a
relationship that will keep on
flourishing I think you could be a
jockey’s agent or is that something that
scar I would I wouldn’t be political
enough to be a jockey’s agent I we can
all agree on that one Aiden having
having having I over the years we’ll get
to your career shortly in this over the
years I have been on the on the sharp
end of some of Aiden’s political
whatsapps before so I’m I’m fully aware
that you are a man that’s got a voice
have an opinion we’re going to get it

boost it is arrest in the 130 at newb
second in the C Ledger the class horse
running today uh he was n to four he’s
going to be three to one for the
duration of the show for 50 pounds so uh
yeah we’re going to take on arrest in
the first race at Newbury John let’s
stick with you arrest is obviously a
pivotal horse of punters now if you’re
new to the show this is what William
Hill do they look at perhaps the most
popular they’ve got a great record so if
you’re a layer my nap and this boost is
where you want to be going to make some
profit today basically but what price
did he open up when the markets became
available this week so Monday morning uh
he started 11 to 10 and that was popular
um the ground that time was uh a lot
softer than it than it is now but we did
Lay 11 to 10 uh but since the final
declarations we just can’t give him away
now he’s you know as I say three to one
uh in the Boost happy to take him on I
think this race has got the uh potential
for a bit of a
shock interesting is the John Porter
obviously of course that’s the first
race at Newbury uh just a quick word on
conditions at the moment I get that for
both of you I think G I’ll start with
you there’s been a lot of favorites that
are on the slide at the moment because
we don’t quite know what we’re going to
get because we’ve gone from this very
wet winter to now all that suddenly
drying spring aren’t we yeah it’s very
difficult this time of year is it as
well like this is what I often say when
a lot of people say oh well the ground’s
the number one important factor when
you’re picking your winners is that your
number one factor no not at all you know
that I I’m not a ground punter at all
but the reason I’m not a ground punter
is that us guys sitting at home with the
paper we don’t know what the ground’s
going to be like we’re not there we
can’t walk it we’re not riding in these
races so how can we make an informed
decision at home on what the ground is
going to be like when we we we we’ve got
no idea how it’s going to ride even now
at newb I mean it looked really really
testing there yesterday with the way
that it rained time suggested it was SL
SL suggested it was slow but it’s been a
dry night dry day sun’s out it could dry
up really quickly there and not be soft
at all it’s anyone’s guess how
conditions are going to ride so if you
don’t know how conditions are going to
ride how can you make an informed
decision on a bet based on the ground
you can’t he’s not the only favorite
today that we’ll see that we’re going to
go wow what a price were you a staunch
cew Walker were you like uh not towards
the end no because when you’ve been to
all these tracks hundreds and hundreds
of times you kind of knew like this time
of year it dries out so quick like
Newbery could be nearly good ground
today air could be the same you got
longer days it’s quite windy um I think
if there no rain this time of year the
ground dries out rapidly when you were
young did you always do it was it like
yeah I’m going to do it govern it was a
d thing young but I kind of been to all
these you know about the weather these
days you know I could I could tell you
what the ground’s going to be like every
morning now every track on the weather
if I was going to Newbury today um I’d
expect it to nearly be good ground we
were
tactics would be good ground they do
ation there don’t they stuff of course
you can go to the BHA website but but
the Racing Post will be giving you

course reporters at air and of course
newb today all over the place actually
even Banger as well atal all right okay

race then it’s the John Porter coming up
as we know it what’s it now called the
Dubai duty3 finest surprise Stakes all
right uh Johnny come in then 9 to4 now 3

then yeah well we’re happy to stand uh
heh as well at 100 to 30 we’re happy to
take the front two on here there’s been
a spread of money for chess piece musaba
and Al sakis um all you know small
Stakes each way but um the weakness of
this Market is a rest and that is
bringing the rest the rest of the market
in um oky doie uh let’s start with you
Aiden then flex your flat muscles yeah I
like Al Kareem I think Hamish being
eight first run of the Year takes a lot
to get fit uh his first two starts of
the like the last two previous seasons
have been a lot well mid kind of early
miday so a couple of weeks of time I
just think at his age first run of the
Season Carol Brooks horses are in form
so I’m going to go with Al kareim I I’m
a huge number one fan of Al Karim
massive he that blue stocking form looks
really good at Chester doesn’t it my
worry about him today is that you know
him and Hees have got to give weight to
this favorite who ran second in a ledger
I you’re happy to take on I think he’s
the best horse and the rest going
forward but I just think he might need
the run and yeah just take they looked
like the CRA Mee and the Run was yeah
did look that didn’t really get a chance
his running as at Newbery yesterday he
kept refusing to go in the stall BL him
didn’t they they had a lot of Runners at
New Market last week didn’t they the
Goin and like you say should have won
the wood yeah didn’t take it by storm in
the way they have done in the past and
same with Charlie applebe I know applebe
had a few winners but we’ve come to
recognize him just firing in four or
five uh a day almost at the new market
ring Mile and that didn’t quite happen
last week I didn’t feel maybe his horses
will come on for a run too well you
could say that about William haggus of
course who who trains samish where did
you stand with a veteran because he was
unbeaten last year yeah well he he he
did have a winner didn’t he yesterday
William haggis um can’t remember wil was
it called in the Sprint handicap he’s
not had a lot of runners in the last
couple in the last couple of weeks hais
but he had 11 horses entered in over
these two days and Ury um at the start
of the week so he’s unloaded his stable
having been quite quiet which suggests
to you maybe he thinks they’re coming um
into form heinous you would suggest
would be really hard to beat here on
really soft ground and the one that I
really fancy is Max vager who yesterday
when the rain came I was like this is
nap material at 162 to1 now that Aiden’s
sitting there telling me he’s going to
be good ground I’m not quite so
confident he has to have it hot deep the
old Max he’s he’s a lovable veteran best
forms on heavy ground he beat heish
didn’t he over the distance in 2022 in
October massive he is that can go in at
a price isn’t he ran well in this race
last year he was third behind Grand
Providence he’s got some really good
form at the course and he comes in with
runs behind him on the so he is going to
be hard fit and he not not difficult to
sit there and say well ra Becket knows
that the H really likes his track really
goes well over the course and distance
this will be his early season Target so
I’m still with Max Vega each way here
but I would be more confident if the
ground was tested
how’s chess piece been going in the
market Johnny because uh Simon and
chrisf look like they they’re not on
their usual sort of Target Target Target
bang bang
Bang Yeah he’s steady around 78 to one
it’s not been a an awful lot of money
for him I see it’s been tipped up in a
few places but it’s uh it’s more money
for other horses here than uh than chess
pie all right okay let’s let’s wrap this
up then the boosted arrest I think he’ll
take plenty of beating but I am with you
I’m huge Al kareim fan there’s a game
horse on the flatting training pointing
out tough he’s a lovely animal of course
to beat him on was it levels I think
when they were signing off but the
ground probably was more in homus his
favor so he’ll do for me me and Aiden
full seld different and all that Aiden
good start for you I might change now
that you’re you’re welcome to you’re
welcome you’re welcome to do what you
like John if you were with one in this
what would it
be I’m going to chance SM to about I was
I thought it’d be horse to follow last
year after the Chester BS he he went
missing most of the season I think
double figures each I think it’ll give
you a run all right yeah See’s been
nibbled out as well for Shadwell that’s
William AG’s other Runner that is a
kickoff at Newbury then let’s move up to
air sh we one of the races of the
two-day meeting is the Scottish Champion
hurdle and last I look there was
something of a hot pot in here of course
it’s load of s the market will come up
before our eyes as soon as the producers
press the button and it will come up uh
just tell us about air just quickly
while we’re waiting for that there we go
you can see 7 or2 load of s air
yesterday you were obviously in RC TV
covering it Sterling job by the way
thank you and um I thought it looked
visually like sort of springy soft
ground but they was still a lot of
horses were beaten before the you know
sort of two out weren’t they yeah I
think they had like five m a rain just
before racing out overnight but air
dries out like new very very quick it
you know that could be closer to good
ground again today it’s very it’s always
very windy up there it’s by the Sea so
uh I don’t think it’ll be anywhere near
as slow today as it was yesterday it’s
not easy for us is it okay Paul Nichols
this is just my opinion by the way I’ve
been wrong Lords before you’re in very
good company hereen don’t worry about
that uh all right okay well Paul Nichols
looking at that market John will be
hoping it drives out for aidil of course
who won at the meeting last year he’s
done some big dancing handicap company
and ribo of course First Street will
probably like it where’s the money going
with
hills yeah it’s a good Market this we’re
paying four places as a horse raer to
stand there is loow to S we we agree
with Aiden here I think the ground will
end up near good ground and I think load
of Sun’s for best form is when it’s been
really deep so around 7241 we’re happy
to stand him there’s a huge steamer here
Florida dreams that was 20 to1 on Monday
H now it’s 15-2 is really really strong
support for that the anry bumper winner
last year Florida dreams then for Nikki
Richards who they’ve tried to stretch
out in trip haven’t they he’s the buzzer
then see a few judges have put him up as
well G would he do for you uh yeah I
mean I I think I tipped him every I
you’ll have to tell me here cuz cuz I
I’ve completely forgotten what I tip in
this race I tell you what I I I really
fancied Petty ton which is trained by
John Joe and ridden by John Joe and one
of the maners I thought this would been
the target all year but then again like
I’m not I was thinking well it could be
really testing ground there be a lot of
grain here and now the grounds come up a
little bit quicker I’m fairly certain
that I’ve gone for Florida dreams but oh
yeah I’ve got there it is yeah see I
told you I linked that perfectly man
sorry yeah I I just produc don’t give
him any more time off I just text the
producer I said have I TI Florida dreams
now but I have apparently well give us a
case well he liks the ground there’s a
lot of money for him Nicki Richards has
got loads of Runners into it at the at
these two days air it would definitely
have been the target for this horse and
I think that he’s uh he must be off
because the money’s gone for him I don’t
I don’t have a strong opinion on this
race miles last time I know ask usually
bumper horses they tend to go up and
trip the next year they they say

hurdles and Elites and King Wells and
this technically kind of a Dro in grade
um got a lot of weight but because he’s
the best horse typical pull this would
be wouldn’t it yeah I just I really like
him okay yeah had more drawing for rubo
I think and affil as well that will be
good obviously Willie Mullins has got
one ni bis first streak just give us a
word on this first streak uh because
Steve Mason who who is definitely one of
the best Dodges around Chief handicap
here at the Racing Post he’s napped him
today in his column uh I think Tom’s put
him up as well ke’s one of the two of
them’s gone for it yeah I mean he’s
class X isn’t he he’s very consistent he
ran uh statan uh close in the county
herdle a couple years ago trying to give
state mat like8 pound or which was
obviously an impossible ask yeah um he’s
just a sort of O that that turns up you
know he’s going to run to a level is
there going to be an improver in there
who will improve past him if there isn’t
then he he’ll win and Henderson of
course missed all of chham didn’t he
because it was near in a complete
disaster suddenly anry last week he’s
having winners he’s had winners this
week again he’s taking plenty up to a I
think he’s certainly to be in the first
three but I’m hoping that um Florida
dreams will improve past him but you
would definitely have first streak for
your top three I think it’d been the
three yeah he’s a he’s a very popular
horse with the tips today is he a horse
you’ve ever got up close and personal
with yeah I thought he’s good very good
work horse he’s he’s LED some very good
work you know kept Nikki’s Kempton day
you know he’s usually he’s usually the
benchmarker for that so two miles
goodish ground isn’t that interesting
this what we get with Aiden that’s great
yeah because obviously you’ve seen a lot
I could have also made that up as well
you could you could have I haven’t what
you make it a f Lord L thead or Lord the
mean what do Aiden said he hasn’t won
since he’s come over from would he would
he be would he be running here if
skeltons weren’t going for the title do
you think cuz he had quite a hard race
at cheltam didn’t he I think I

think it’s a great race this Sky it is

he was he was teetering on 11 to four at
times we like everything what prices he

winner yet though Johnny Simpson have

form favor and Fortune I think he’s got

I’m Hep boosted immensely at a if he
jumps yeah because he was sticky at
chelton wasn’t he one mistake like that
and it’s a race over and a race like
this but but some of his previous form
is very good he’s not he’s not a bad
jumper but just coming in as a novice
and with off the back having a couple of
minor errors they weren’t significant
ones they’d make a big difference in the
R I guess I think he’ll love the ground
I think he’s a strong traveler if he
comes back to that anry form I think
he’s well handicapped I think been he’s
been very solid all week and Alan King
will be fancying himself as as another
Jumper in the sun here I think he’s
another trainer who at the start of the
week had loads of horses entered at this
meeting um and his horses again tend to
be better on better ground don’t they

two to one and so final declarations
came round he was backed in a six to
four and we were laying the six to four
too uh we can’t give him away now he’s
out to 100 to 30 and absolutely
friendless in the uh the daily race
Market um there’s two that have been
backed uh room service and Sun uh both
seven from 14 but as like the earlier
race with ar rest the whole Market is
coming in with the weakness of a a six
to four favorite uh on Thursday in zoom
zoom this is this is like the sky is
turning purple for me uh I think even
when I was looking at it yesterday it
was about
1108 you’re giving me that look aren’t
you come on I think he’s I think he’s a
near good thing here I canot cannot
believe the price I think there’s going
to be enough juice in him I I watched
him his action I think he’s absolutely
fine I think too many people have put in
them in the basket that he’s a Slot
Monkey this guy did win on the weather
his first start didn’t he he did he did
yeah and again a lot of people will be
saying you know soft ground horses can
go on the weather and all that sort of
stuff but I think he’ll be fine there
today uh obviously it’s whether he’s
ready they can factor that into to his
price potentially as well there’s a big
tick that you’ve got to have in this
race historically if you watch the
excellent Kevin moley in your paper
today you’ve got to have listed or group
for 10 out the last I think it’s some
like 20 out the last 20 uh so look
history tells us that the right horses
tend to win this of course it goes
without the same the lik of Frankl have
won this race did you have a look at it
yeah I did yeah um I really liked Bal M
Mount boy um I think he was very good
when he won a Doncaster last year ground
leer R would be fine for him um but just
seeing Army EAS there 15 to2 I wouldn’t
put anyone off that you know good foran
Ascot last year obviously had a problem
afterwards got beat Lambo on this hor
got beat at odds on then but he hadn’t
ran in a long time and the winner of
that race had won yeah had won its other
start as well so I think that’s probably
the value even though I have b m boy I
couldn’t P anyone off you know Army
around 8 to one that’s um this is a big
moment for James Doyle of course because
it’s his new retainership for wnan the
big players wnan and he’s he’s he’s
chosen this Mr Sketch of course was
beating in the mill Reef Eve Johnson how
never HD a you know a delight of this
guy going forward and he looks pretty
solid to me Mr Sketch yeah another who
probably wants soft ground isn’t he he
was really uh really seem suited by a
test and service he was impressive when
he won last year was it Salsbury comes
to mind I don’t know if that’s right but
um I know he was second was he in the M
or third it was it was Salsbury yeah
yeah so sticks in my mind about that um
the one thing I would say about these
races the greenham particularly and we
saw it in the week where the Craven it’s
not necessarily the most exciting horse
that wins it or the or the or the most
exciting horse going forward that wins
it it’s the horse that is right on this
day and there won’t be that many a lot
of these are going to have big bigger
targets coming up and I think that we’ve
already seen that Richard Hannon had
harm didn’t he bang on for the Craven
and I think that he’ll definitely have
Sun bang on here for the for this race
Richard hannon’s previous winner of this
race oh n hund or something good shout
not quite very very good shout Barney
Roy Bary Roy yeah night Thunder is a
great shout yeah yeah um similar type to
Har him isn’t he Expo the most exposed
horse in the race um has running loads
of good two-year-old races was fif in
the Vintage he broke his Maiden at this
track I like this I think Hannah will
definitely have a lot of winners there
today might have a double um he’s got
nine Runners there in total and he had
20 odd 28 entered over do no wrong
yesterday really it was going and he’s
is are firing I don’t don’t get me wrong
if if you ask me if this race was run
two months down the line I don’t think
sun will be winning it but right now
he’s the allar want back son so you all
with son I think it’s very interesting
these races as well from two to three
it’s I’d love to be there to see them in
the padic cuz that’s a big it’s a big
time for these horses because they don’t
always train on you’d like to see them
in their coats I think I think whoever’s
there you’d I’d be going I think Army
ethos with that very much in mind I’d be
looking at what happened to him first
time out I mean I know it was after a
long long absence but he was 2 to9
wasn’t he at Newcastle last month was it
got turned over a bit disappointing I
thought there he might well bounce back
maybe badly needed the run but you know
a horse that was second in the centry
turning up in a race at at Newcastle you
would expect them to win even if they
were 90 odd per wouldn’t you either the
Jeff horse is very big or that hasn’t
grown at all arm and they’re chucking
some B gear on as well but certainly
from a class angle watch my tracer was
just behind him as well in the comry
last year and I see that’s been nibbled
in a little bit the lingfield winner uh
again some collateral form there
throwing room service for Kevin Ryan who
didn’t make it to or we the finals day
this is his spot he should stay the trip
no problems he’s a Cody bear isn’t he I
think so he likes off ground if he Loft
but we don’t know if it will he
definitely was going forward I think we

on these kind of races but but um a fell
said to me that I respect that becket’s
horses got held up in the in the wet
weather and that they were about at this
day were about three weeks behind that
was about a week ago so I’m expect I I
just had to look back at his at their
Runners and and they haven’t been having
many winners and he’s definitely hadn’t
that many winners on the grass anyway
and I’ve watched a few of his horses
there the last week with that in mind
and and they haven’t really been
finishing out and I I’d expect that’s
where the drift is coming from I was
looking at him earlier on the week at
say five to four or six to four I was
saying I I definitely going to be
against that but like you probably might
have to go for to one L by the time uh
the race starts so so like that’s a big
big difference now for that reason I
probably won’t get involved opposing
them but I definitely won’t be with him
I have a feeling that stable that stable
in particular and maybe Gans are just
not 100% really and for that reason i”d
be against zoom zoom yeah okay all right

order he is yes it was uh eight on the
field last tonight and nagio is the
Mover that’s the what the horse that’s
so shaped best from the uh the Lincoln
form
um we’ve seen little bits in pieces for
Godwin s unexposed haggis horse and then
it’s the last hour so real gain has been
a little bit of money for there but it’s
yeah we’re paying five places there been
a fair spread of business there’s not
one that’s been really knocked over but
nagio uh is probably the most popular
yeah Paul key in his satday scissors is
very keen on Dancing magic who held his
priz all week amazing that’s not managed
to win a race yet uh Thunderball you’ve
got there who gave a great s in the
Lincoln for a long way he just missed a
bit of work o Cole told us o Cole flying
with his two-year-olds yard going on
very well him and his dad real gain
there as well what do we like Aiden
Coleman I tipped real gain last night
shorten so obviously people are
listening to me quite right um it’s
either that or you’d go along um the
Lincoln form isn’t it I it’s quite a
compe it’s like a handy just competitive
isn’t it I love these sort of races um
we just talk quickly about your record
on the flat surprising amount of flat
winners I one summer I decided to do uh
do a bit of it and i’ about 40 odd rides
I think I mean that’s Oban isn’t it five
five winners I think or six which is D
and I always remember seeing those jump
versus flat jockey races and things like
that that must have been a good crack
yeah yeah there was there used to be one
a Sandown every year at the end when it
used to be a mixed card but they’ve kind
of changed the dynamic of that an epom
now is it they’re just jump jockey races
though yeah just jum Jo there’s no
there’s no mixture and we have the jump
jockey narp at York as well of of course
did you have a tight part in that I I
was second in it or third that’s about
it really yeah no no joy Easy Money mind
caner down Gip back yeah nice and easy
yeah not you get to see the flat jockies
try not to make a fo of themselves at
lingfield every year as well don’t it’s

time for the yard um this one won a
maiden up at Hamilton last year and then
according to the the race
analyst Dave Orton last time wasn’t
helped by the uneven Pace back down to
furong and it’ll be interesting to see
what handicap Mark he is given that was
when his last run at Kempton on the all
weather back in August so that was me
that wrote that was that was you so I
can tell you he’s been given a handicap
Mark of 88 for this handicap debut just
I like haggis I like I know that Johnny
says Beck’s a bit behind but going
forward I like haggis Becket I like
barding I like those three training they
are really really top BLS on the flat
and with haggis already having had that
one yesterday I reckon he’ll get this
right God Winson you usually have to be
drawn low in this race nine of the last
10 winners the excellent Kevy moley yes
nine of the last 10 winners I think were
12 or lower the last winner to win from
12 or higher was 2013 so 11 years ago so
usually you have to be low I know stats
are there are bro to be broken and I’m
not one of these people’s a slave to the
draw I’m just throwing it out there well
you you have right to do that this is
what you get from him the way and uh
they were all coming stand side pretty
much yesterday they were middle just
stand side so that would be high
wouldn’t it but maybe I don’t know if I
mean you you wouldn’t have done a lot of
flat racing we said but sometimes with
the particularly with these big flat
racing we have days and days and days
like one day it can be like the stand
side and then that ground gets chewed up
and then they’re all coming up the
middle it happens a lot of Royal Ascot
it does it’s going to be drer today and
it was yesterday as well isn’t it no
matter what happen so so they might expl
when they have that big umbrella come
out of Royal Ascot we spoke about that
before where you know the big called The
Stand a big stand you know that when it
rains you know big umbrella over then
stand side rail but we’re at newb today

historically is we should be low

that run in the Lincoln where he got
held up slightly in his run nagio was
just behind him big this would be a big
moment for James Orton a lot of us would
love to see him the one thing i’ say
about Lam that won the Lincoln last year
in Ireland and you you just said the way
it won it would win it would win a few
again but it didn’t really go forward
from it first running and that might not
go forward from it Lincoln run I
actually was going to tip that but then
I realized it had run into Lincoln so I
didn’t so I said might been best C fresh
but the fact that it didn’t go forward
as would worry me David about actually
and it’s left William agis since of
course he couldn’t go if if agus isn’t
going to get one thing you would say
about Julie kamacho is there if there a
better small stable trainer out there at
inheriting horses and getting them to
Absolute Peak it could well be Julie all
right anyway that is a cracker be great
to watch and these straight mile
handicaps 7 we love them going forward
culminating in the Bal mle on Champions
Day which seems so far off doesn’t it
shall we go back to Mor for military
territory then potentially because it is
the big one up at air it’s the Scottish
national it’s 3:35 Johnny Simpson every
time I look at git maker he just gets
shorter he does yeah it was 10 to one on
Monday this has been a fascinating
Market I think punters have been trying
to second guess either Willie mullings
Runner or whose Town end going to ride
mcder Spanish Harlem and Mr Incredible
have all been into single figures at uh
at some point but the the money today’s
G maker inish Shore and in s the last
hour or so Mr Vango uh he’s 11 from 14
we’re paying five places here we’ve got
a really strong set of prices you know
Scottish national uh as you say lat Fair
spread of business but uh Mr Vango is
the latest mover right
okay going to have to come to you with
this right did you win a Scottish
national no I should have won ah the
story of a lot of people’s careers when
they come in these shows the one fish
that got away yeah better to be a never
wasse and has been isn’t it remind us
the name of the hor uh Gods me judge for
alen king oh we used to love him didn’t
we yeah he won it year before way in
hutchingson Hutch got hurt a couple of
days before and I got a spare and uh he
made a bad mistake down the back got out
I had a good position Believe It or Not
must have fell into that made a bad
mistake got out of position and then was
a fast finishing second oh there must be
so infuriating mustn’t it yeah did you
should you have won the winner um Jamie
Moore won an horse called Alco yes and
he was probably pulling up in front so
if I got him sooner which I would have
done if I hadn’t made the mistake he
probably could have p s the blow some
yeah yeah but if I hadn’t made that
mistake I would have been a lot better
position it’s great to get into Aiden’s
mind is it just with that in mind once
we’ve done the Saturday previews we’re
going to do some quick fire questions
for Aiden as well if anyone wants to

for Aiden 80% of punters as rep show a
cuddly creatures they’re all absolutely

you here then uh what are we like in the
Scottish national before we get a tip
off Aiden and G Rod yeah I was kind of
fencing en sh but it’s like found in the
M was clear second favor now 9 to one
there I there plenty horses here that
have had enough to
defense Mr Incredible is hes might might
even start he’s probably the The Best of
The Mullins horses if he is on a go
there I cannot and for the life me see
how Spanish Harlem can win this I give
that absolutely zero chance here that
looks very short at 12 to one even and
mcdermit like okay it’s won its last two
races but it’s gone up a bit and great
here and like if you said two ons ago
mcder would win the Scottish national
you be white coltsman to be out for look
inore is a horse that’s fresh he’s he’s
coming here in after 77 day break he was
going for the Midlands National and they
pulled him out because of the heavy
ground the blinkers seem to work with
him last time he’s he has them on again
and if they do work I’d say this has
been a Target since the start of the
year I actually backed him one day
during the year and it definitely
definitely the way he was written and
the way he went in the market too
suggested that that they had other other
things on their mind and he’s the one
I’d like Anyway in his Shore but he is
found at 9 to1 he’s not exactly s of the
century but I still think he win at the
same time and I’d be against nearly
every Irish horse in this race to be
honest that’s interesting isn’t it okay
is anyone with an Irish horse in this
race no no oh oh so no Willie Mullins
winner no I was slightly surprised that
Paul townin didn’t choose mcder I got to
be honest Spanish Harem I back to him
last time at Garen and a little bit like
Johnny just alluded to there I don’t
think that was the day that was behind a
horse called San felican and he was
coming back again at the Finish he’s
he’s a funny horse I think Johnny gives
him no chance I think you’ll be
interesting watching you really are
guessing if you’re backing him aren’t
you because he’s got no form over fenses
that suggest he can get anywhere near
them now he did golf six to1 last year
for the Martin pipe a race that Willie
Mullins has run endless stairs in before
cider shamps and Don poy and gallop and
Des of course being the most famous so
Mullins must think a bit of him and must
think he’s going to stay those are the
two things you can say about him but on
form you absolutely no chance what about
Mr Vango anyone like this guy he’s
coming in for money as Donny Simpson
said
slow ground he looks slow to me be great
moment for the Brad stocks wouldn’t it
of course angers CAG bidding to do the
kitty lights Ida to Scottish national
could happen if you he’s he has a
mistake in him hasn’t he so did that and
still won exactly so this is slightly
more competitive than if you were if you
were riding a winner of the Ida would
you then be saying it’s got to be
Scottish national flat track severe test
there’s so many handicap Chas options
now isn’t there um like staying
handicapped Chas they seem to come
ticking fast start of Christmas don’t
they yeah um so yeah it’s look it’s the
obvious place especially when it’s an
norn trainer as well so in an in an
ordinary year angas KAG would nearly be
half that price but because we’ve got
all these Irish horses coming over
you’re getting a price about him I’d
worry about the likes of G maker and
Wacker Clan having two harder race at
chelham they were up in the tick for not
William bu William bidik for a long way
yeah had a brilliant spin at chel behind
the handicap Century yeah did he look
bit and I know the winners has come out
and one of the entry but sat out out of
the r for a long way and kind of finish
like a fresh horse really galloped
through the line these two were tired at
the line and I just wor cap has given
him a bit for that as well G did you
have a line on git maker well he was
that we were with over Christmas when he
ran at Ascot wasn’t he the git last time
cheltam ran an absolute Stormer I mean
this is one of the things that that’s
come to light this year isn’t it about
chelham is like we don’t really I mean I
know that they’re allowed to do it we
don’t really want to see these grade one
novice Chasers turning up and making a
mockery of handicaps like the Kim M do
we I mean I know the way you’re thinking
would have been competitive in one of
those other novice novice chases
wouldn’t he the RSA or
the exactly a lot ofs will be
disagreeing with that they’ be saying I
absolutely love it we just want winners
which is what they’ve had at gent and at
anry as well it’s no fun though is it CH
is supposed to be about the best take on
the best though isn’t it but it’s it’s
lovely to just back a 13 to8 shot that
wins by half the track isn’t it what’s
wrong with that you’re a bit picky man
oh this is this did you back it I didn’t
back it racing was actually on the G you
were on the G I was on the git massive
prices racing isn’t it anyway that’s
another point I think in Shaw is the one
to be on Johnny’s already outlin the
case I mean Lucinda Russell will have
had this race in mind all season wasn’t
it supposed to go for the oh look at
that Mr vano in front of our eyes has
shortened get word with Johnny about
that just before we move on wasn’t it
supposed to go for the mid National then
pulled out late was post f for that for
a long time anyway could stay away fair
look a massive price later on we have to
mention him why is he not even on that
graphic Johnny Simpson what price is of
course the brown advisory flop I think
we can say that but uh of course we
should call him an Albert bartler
winner yeah he’s 16 to one he’s very
he’s popular at 16s they people going
for the the class angle here so yeah 16
to one stay away I bet has G got you
know he calls him slow
as slow as dot dot dot dot dot that’s
Keith Mel Rose yeah so four miles might
suit him might very interesting spot
this here for him is I think so he ran
like as a novice he ran so well and the
cotwell Chas and just like a Gold Cup
trial and now all of a sudden he’s
running a handicap slightly I mean no I
think um didn’t he scope dir or
something so he’s obviously right if
he’s running here again I know Paul’s
going for a trainers Championship but
they wouldn’t risk a horse like this for
anything Nichols has got got a decent
record in this Sam Sam W Sam won two and
and vente and oh yeah vent was the horse
that fell in the national no horse would
come from the Grand National to do
obviously week between you’re not going
to see it well they’re all right they’re
very good Aiden there you go all right
BL me didn’t realize you a Grand

trainers championship this is again
vital Dan Skelton EDG tohe head with a
treble as we saw in our paper Roundup
earlier on John what does that mean for
the market right now because a couple of
weeks ago we stumbled on the fact that
you might be a little bit of an outlier
on one of the
trainers yeah it’s a fascinating Market
it’s certainly G some interest to the
end of the season with Willie Mullins
bringing all of his horses over but the
As We Stand now Mullins is four on
Skelton 7 to2 and Paul Nichols is 10 to
one and just after chel them you could
have got Willie mullings at 10 to one
obviously A lot’s happened uh since then
but it’ be fascinating to see how it how
it pans out over the next week we think
uh Willie is going to be bringing over
the uh the better horses next week for
sand down for the uh the prizeman there
but at the moment is four on skeleton is
seven to2 what does that mean Johnny
Denine for pest toown which isn’t that
far away is
it no it’s not I suppos look I’m
guessing that they’ve obviously sat down
and and and put their hes for the the
different divisions and and um decided
where where to go and maybe not as have
as many runners in some of the races in
punches town but maybe send some of
their a b and CC representatives to this
these these kind of tracks like like a
and and well obviously El Fabiola looks
like he’s going to go to sand down next
uh next Saturday and um but in par of
Hearts I supposed contested them Navas
Racers during the week that maybe they
thing won’t figure in punches toone and
and uh they’ll maybe have a chance of
maybe winning in per that kind of thing
and I I presume it’s a bit like b b
Ricky Dicky and and today like he the
bour bond they probably think that there
is B race for them in putes on that they
can win so they can they’re sending them
here to to try to just kind of maybe
seal up the the British trainers title
for for Willam MERS that that’s the
reasoning behind it I think like you
don’t see B bne coming over here at the
same time you know what I mean that kind
of way they’re not going to send over a
heart that has a guilt Edge opportunity
in punches to for a big prize either but
they are sending like their maybe their
the B team I suppose or whatever you
like to call it but they can still win
races like M’s B team is is better than
most people’s A Team all right okay

the top and he was must have been a
tough watch of course watching him
because he’s again he came back in great
form this season didn’t he everything
was a tough watch this went well that’s
what I was going to get to next my
question is best horse you ever rode was
jumon up there they they’re all up there
but the best horse would be a horse
called maputo of John
Ferguson’s we forget about the John
Ferguson associate Muto yeah he was 113
rated on the flat he won like a Mel
rosea Royal Whip and I think he won his
first ra four races really well and he
went to a grade to a CH them in November
and got beat that far by Alor and he
pulled up lame and never ran again wow
and I was going to the next question I
was going to have was the best horse
that never made it so those two are in
town Muto best Nikki Henderson trained
horse that you ever rode I suppose Jan
but epan day was pretty good yeah she
was a racy old model was she was sharp
yeah she would have been good in the
flat as well favorite race course don’t
worry they’re not listening I suppose

I’ll be diplomatic trickiest race to
ride I never really was a fan that likes
a sedge field or places like that
probably because they’re too far away

what have we got coming up today at the
Cara I see Ryan MOS there yeah that’s
right he’s riding a good field for um
Aiden o’ brine he starts off with with
one in the first but um it’s been
usurped as favored by Joseph for Bry
that that’ be a bit of a worry and the
fact that he
has first time linkers are starting off
with the blinkers is small bit
concerning as well ground will be quite
deep here too um you wouldn’t it
wouldn’t mightn’t be the greatest place
for bet really to be honest um there is
one decent race there uh White Birch
that race it’s a group three 10 fongs
it’s I think it’s the alleged Stakes
Colin Keane is on it look he kind of
half lost his way after a good start
season last year run in the English
Derby ran bad and ran worse in the Irish
Derby but then finished off at the end
of the season in the in the um lepr town
the Champions weekend again finished
fourth not beaten far in in a group
three over mile I thought he was
possibly a bet and the fact that he was
to due to run there about two or three
weeks ago it could even have been in
this race but maybe the whole race been
moved but he has he should be fairly
ready now and I think he’s better than
these and I I’d give him a go at maybe
around three to one the rest of the card
is is like maidens o’b and and more
they’re they’re they’re in again here at
the a 10 following miden 430 chemistry
looks very short it is short for a
reason I suppose it has the best F but
again it has the blinkers on it just sto
me from backing the heart a two to one
on that that wears them kind of things
in maidens I don’t be a big fan of those
but it it it is it is a run ofth the-
midd card now for a Saturday to be fair
and um to tomorrow might be slightly
better there but but but it I think it’s
a it’s a it’s a stuck in card I’m sure
as far as I wonder a replacement one but
the the main race of the day is the
alleged stakes and and that’s the one
I’d be going with white bch the rest of
the race is is a is more or less um a
midweek C to honest yeah he’s a classy
horse white B isn’t he Johnny who’s been

wiers so it’s uh a competitive heat not
a great deal of interest just yet but uh
sort of Crossing distance regulars silky

for arbo at 20 to1 we’ll see how that
how that gets on but not a market that’s
really got going yet oh man you hear the
liks and the names of arbo as a punter

winner he came back to form last time
when he was second at Newcastle he
handles plenty of cutting the ground
which again we think is going to be
cutting the ground muscle B but it’s
another place that’s up by the by the
Sea so it might well dry up but uh a
double figure odds I’m more than happy

you’d be looking at somebody at a price

consistent eight the On’s a good enough
each way price and as you said there’s

Fallen Angel uh iang Lang is five
slightly weak there’s been money for
content in the last uh week or so
obviously really unlucky uh in the
Breeders Cup um she’s eight from about
14 um and Dan sequence I’m not sure what
you can what to read of the the run this
week we went six from nine to two um if
you does improve for the improve for the
run and extra Fair long you can see the
case but um I think there’s plenty of
water to go under the bridge with this
Market she was still green wasn’t she
dance sequence when she was beating in
the in the nail gwiin uh and quite a raw
Philly I’m going to come to you Johnny
Denine if you don’t mind because I
remember even a couple of months ago
when all our eyes were concentrating on
Shelt and the lights of classic chases
and stuff you put one up here yeah I’m
Yang Yang or whatever you like to call
it um anti poost it’s the only that’s
keeping me alive at the moment it might
get me out of trouble if I did actually
win this um look I was like I was I I
wouldn’t be a judge of looking at horses
that in these little gallops that they
did to me Fallen Angel was losing ground
to a 90 rated horse going to the line in
in in that um in in that little piece of
work in New
I wasn’t impressed by that at all and
and uh no one might be reading that all
wrong maybe maybe that’s maybe that’s
what they wanted to happen I couldn’t
tell you uh Dan sequins showed her
vulnerability vulnerabilities in in in
that race and she got beaten by n to1
chance blun Richard fah in that race and
there wasn’t much in that either because
I don’t think there was much confidence
behind matri in that and the fact that
Dan sequence couldn’t win that is
slightly Waring content there seems to
be money for I’m told Lang Lang is
definitely the number one though from
from from kmore and I’m still happy
enough to be honest like um content ran
a load of times as a two-year-old it’s
supposed to be working well all right
but it wouldn’t be a great guine if if
you’d have taught if she could go and
Win It opera singer doesn’t run ramou
was beaten in France fair and square in
my eyes and against the horse that
Charlie app said wouldn’t stay am M I
didn’t see how ramu is going to improve
from going up from Seven up to to I’m
still sticking with Yang Lang but I’m
I’m kind of talking through my pocket
and hope hoping for the best at the same
time but I do think she is the one to
beat at the same time right just ra no
anyway I love that pronunciation of

became apparent when John put up y Lang

think she definitely an Oaks Philly who
is taking in the guine on her way um she
certainly looked like a strong stayer
last year Aiden’s s is hardly set the
world lights at New Market did they they
sometimes take a while to get going yeah
depends on the year but I think they
won’t like he’s going to win four or
five Classics this year isn’t he so said
the other day whatever Aiden says in
April do the opposite you know and he
said they were all firing and it turns
out kills was right they haven’t they
haven’t come up it’s a difficult race I
mean I was at New Market on Wednesday
and I didn’t think I’d seen the 1,000
guine winner after the dance sequence r
that no going I thought it was a little
bit dis the good ones despite running
raw and green still win don’t they she
look at it like a trial and she comes on
for it yeah it was perfectly adequate
wasn’t it she ran well adequate ran well
but she yeah I was a little bit
underwhelmed so what about her prices uh
I’m with Johnny as well with ramou
Aiden’s got one called buttons in there
big price I don’t know if that’s a plan
to run or not that’s the question isn’t
it his button’s going to run but I
thought it’s quite an ey catching run
for first time up in April when she
finished third at down stayed on really
strongly having done absolutely
everything wrong Aiden’s had winners
that have ran that have had a run he’s
had winners of this race that had a run
if you know what was that thing Virginia
Walters and a few others and and I
wouldn’t be if she runs I wouldn’t be
totally against her given that she’s an
Aiden O’Brien he’s got loads in
it and and it’s got a run under its belt
but it’s a real guessing game at this
stage Dave two weeks ahead they would
have cattle prodded you our producers
for a selection here no doubt so uh I no
i’ I’d be happy to go with Dan sequence
