Everton v. Liverpool | PREMIER LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS | 4/24/2024 | NBC Sports
https://www.youtube.com/nbcsports

yeah two changes for ders Everton
Godfrey comes in for Ashley Young on the
right hand side of that back four
they’ll have his hands full uh with
Liverpool’s front three uh Garner comes
in for Gomez at the base of that
Midfield Hill partner Aisa ganay up
front when you look at the why players
Harris on the right mcneel on the left
he’ll have to be disciplined and
diligent in his defending getting on the
shoulder of his fullback but against
Forest Sean D gave a little a nice
little wrinkle he allowed mcneel to come
inside roll side and allow the fullback
to get around we don’t often see that U
from sea D dor of course Club High six
Premier League goals and Dominic C two
in his last three games have he not
scored in the previous 23 now for as
long as I can remember Shawn D has been
a suit wearing manager but he changed
all that at the weekend wore a tracksuit
they won the interview is important but
maybe more so what is he
wearing the tracksuits back why change a
winning formula here’s the Liverpool
lineup Tim well Squad rotation again for
klopp he brings back into the team
Alister saas Salah and Nunes as well as
Kate who comes in for Quanza to partner
Van Dyke at the heart of the Liverpool
defense up top this is their best front
three Salah for his part has 17 goals
nine assists while Diaz and Nunes have
combined for 19 goals nine wins in 16
Premier League merys side Derby’s Jurgen
klopp looking to become the first
Liverpool boss to make that 10 here he
is the 244th merys side Derby the first
was played on this ground 130 years ago
probably the penultimate Derby for
wonderful Historic goodison Park
definitely the final Derby for Jurgen
Klo so here we
go Blue against red team separated only
by the width of Stanley
Park one of the most historic fixtures
in all of English football and plenty
riding on it tonight Lee Dixon
absolutely here’s Trent Alexander
Arnold looking already for Lewis Diaz
and out comes Jordan Pickford for an
early gather well for once one of
those who’ve eased their relegation
worries with two wins in their last
three games this is a step up in class
Harrison calber lein was waiting for
that it falls to Dwight mcneel and duur
big chance for Everton in the opening
minutes great ball in from Harrison
that’s his job breaks for Jack Harrison
and here comes Calvin Le was he caught
by
Allison he
was penalty kick to
Everton and Allison awaiting his fate
which is yellow I think van dijk’s
asking for a foul earlier on he’s not
going to get one see I don’t think but
just there he just wonders maybe Trent
Alexander Arnold might have played him
on side but the be looking at
it yeah it’s a definite foul it’s just
whether he was offside everything’s
going against everon in no penalty no
yellow
card but that’s he he he probably was
about a yard and a half was he yeah it
was fairly clear from the angle that
they finally produced Alexander Arnold
again lofted for Muhammad Salah
well that is one piece of Defending from
that man
absolutely a
push bounced off him
gay that is a free kick well they got
one
eventually yeah it looked like a big
shove in the back from canate but
they’re using that ball well Everton
into the Channel full backs pushed up
Robinson on one side Alexander Arnold on
the other space behind them so just hit
it in there let their runners go into
the channel it’s not a bad ball 4% of
their goals from set
[Applause]
Pieces good job really hav’t scored many
from open Play have they that is true
McNeil and
Godfrey well he certainly seemed to have
escaped well you have to say he’s about
two or three yards somebody’s got
Alexander Arnold’s got
a it’s presented to a Duncan Ferguson or
going further the backer of Bob
latchford back in the real M of time the
great Dixie
Dean
canate Nunes shows quickly and tickford
was just for a second in no man’s land
oh you lucky boy he came out early
McNeil yet
again and this time the header across
the face by
branway meleno
tarkovski Jack Harrison
Ben
Godfrey and then a mistake and
branway C L calls it in Everton lead in
the derby Liverpool are in
trouble it gets away from godre Godfrey
but the threat is still there and
brenway just gets it over the line
Allison thinks he saved it is’s a
appeals for hand ball there’s appeals
for fouls doesn’t look like any of them
are going to be given and that there
tries to go across the goalkeeper he
gets his legs on it Calvin Le finishes
off but it’s already over the line it’s
a brilliant start to this game by
Everton
mallister Salah and
nun pford stood
strong McNeil
as came in referee thought about it but
then gives the free kick to Everton yeah
there’s been a there’s been a little bit
of
a book for
descend have just got to respond to that
certainly I think he was a
[Applause]
yeah Salah Nunes Diaz
wow again pford quick feet has to get
his right leg off the ground to clear
that but
robton
Nunes Robertson again Liverpool linking
well and the ball dismissed from his
presence by garag gay will take
this towards Virgil Van
djk taros is just having a word with a
referee saying something about someone
got hold of my arm and there it is Diaz
it was who was holding T
C Alexander arold and
Robertson flag is up for offside against
him it’s great Calbert Leen in the
penalty area on the edge of it is D
McNeil who’s got a sweet left foot and
stings the palms of the Brazilian
goalkeeper well you
mcneel Calin l in
heaven for
Everton whipping ball in the Box he got
height on it look he’s got a free header
far post against van dijk his arms go up
whose fault is it have a look at
yourself that’s really poor
defending toosi does a bit of a
block Alexander Arnold supposed to be
marking Calvin Lou in Far post he gets
nowhere near him really good header from
the
youngster and it’s in that near post
Allison can’t do anything about it we’ve
got an upset on the
cards we have a seismic upset on the
cards quansa possibly a another
Robertson’s
kick
van and nun tried to turn on
it here’s Harrison now it’s m
and only Robertson stood between Everton
and a
third well again another big chance
Harris liverpol still coming strongly
and Diaz inside of the post and out
again Salah right in the middle of the
post almost comes straight back to
him Alexander
Arnold oh mallister and
coray on involved in a flash point yeah
I’ll be looking at this it was a little
bit of
a just leaves this just catches on
the there was a retaliation but I think
he
thought here’s Salah well it came to him
in an instant and it came to him
unexpectedly yeah
but James gner as he trips it was right
on the Edge by Endo free kick a Good
Feet Gana good opportunity to run the
clock down a little bit
more you see what he’s trying to
do
Elliots pif foot to Greater claim well
he’s been he’s been cing what not
mathematically but in real terms will be
safety no card for
Diaz Salah and still pford up everything
that’s thrown at
him and then there were
two Liverpool
derailed Everton’s perfect night and
this is what Blue Heaven Looks feels and
sounds
like and historic fixture with so many
story lines down the years this one of
the most telling and dramatic Everton
two Liverpool

  1. Days like this I miss Mane and firmino, I still do not understand why they got them out. The amount of opportunities we are missing upfront is out of control

  2. Trent Alexander Arnold just loves to watch when the opponent is attacking. I love Klopp but it still befuddles me why he puts Arnold on the defense line. It is such a waste of his attacking talent and creating a constant hole on the defense line.

  3. Said it before… Van Dyck is past it as an elite defender. The second goal is on him 100%. He is the center back… his job to pick up and aggressively mark the center forward at set pieces… he does neither. He's becoming the Harry Maguire of Liverpool

  4. Winning this game meant more to the Everton fans and players than winning the league would have meant for the Liverpool fans and players.

  5. Trent Alexander Arnold is always thinking about the next assist and defense splitting pass, that he cannot be bothered with defense duties.

  6. Refs really need to stop calling all the "soft" fouls where a player feels someone touch them and falls down. Then maybe the disgraceful floppers will stop.

  7. My sensitive friend asked me if I even knew what depression feels like. I told her I know, because I’m a Liverpool supporter

  8. Everton had to give us Chelsea fans great joy before experiencing that great joy themselves. (Meanwhile, we found ourselves on the WRONG end of a local derby, and that felt as brutal as this must've felt for the Liverpool fans, so while it's fun to watch them lose sometimes, I feel for them.)
EDIT: Holy Jesus, that second goal! Like they just stumbled into a universe where doing exactly what you want off a corner kick can actually happen!

  9. min. 7:44 Everton's No. 6 made a brilliant block on Virgil allowing Calvert-Lewin to properly jump and head the ball beautifully while Alexander Arnold is not part of the game and only an observer. (Calvert was his man). Great Teamwork by Everton, unlike Liverpool's front, is not gelling together. I know Salah is Liverpool's hero with a great record, but for me, only Diaz is the real deal. And forget about Nunez also. He is playing in the wrong position. He should be a defensive midfielder or even a central defender instead.
