in the golf course in the afternoon wave

the best of the afternoon
starters hang yoin already tasted
victory so far this
season she’d be Keen to add a major
championship to that Hall this is M Kung
at 11 and that’s a little bit clumsy for
Choy there four under par through her
first five holes it’s been a string of
pars since and she’s going to do well to
keep the Drop shots off her card some
work to be done there at
11 now last week’s winner at the next
and SE nine Masters Cho and wo currently
two under par she’s making the turn this
is a wedge into 10 and badly misjudged
there goodness me that’s a good 10 yard
short for choy
picked up that breakthrough championship
at Kim he guia at the next n s n Masters
terrific performance there now to the
defending Champion Lee Dion right it to
4 under power early but just dropped a
shot at the ninth so looking to bounce
straight back here that pin cut on the
front right section of the green it’s a
wedge as well for
Lee and that is very nicely done coming
off a really solid 2023 campaign where
she picked up her third major Title Here
at Lakewood and won the Huna Financial
Group championship at Bears best in a
thrilling playoff against M Lee and
Patty
tavatanakit said that back injury isn’t
quite 100% but certainly well enough to
be three under through
nine back up to 11 and Janny
Sun lovely spot here just underneath the
hle a birdie look for J to join the
party at 4
under oh well done slots that in it is
getting awfully congested at that 400
Palmer believe that scorecard will be
updated shortly with her birdie taking
her up into a share of third now this is

changed really that’s a fifth birdie of

and a half year windless drought with a
emotional Victory towards the tail end

season two-time winner of this great
Championship she’s been a picture of
consistency this
season four top 10 in five starts hasn’t
finished outside the top four in her

three she’s certainly one to watch this

the first five tournaments of

but it really is a lovely time to get
out and play some golf in you if you’re

world not too much humidity to speak of
great temperatures as hun kyung looks
for a birdie here at 11

unanswered birdie of the day for the
onetime kpg winner sees her move into a
share of the top
spot Yin looking to lay it up handy here
on the 11th unable to get home in too so
just playing for her favorite
yardage importantly keeps that in the

control trying to attack that pin on the
upper

thing is just to make sure that she
covers that that little

pitch it on that back step of the

green on 13 a bit awkward here up
against the

easy those shots always a little bit of
guess

cut of rough again we are just coming
out of spring here so maybe that dormant
grass helping out mung on that occasion
not as dense as it would be couple of
months down the road now Dion a long way

here we know it’s downhill but we knows
it stays pretty straight at the
cup he just doesn’t want to take that
last little bit of movement to the left
but still after a bit of a squirly
t-shot AAR is very acceptable for Dion

Sun looked out towards the fat side of

30 ft just over a little hump which
should speed it up in the last 15 20
ft judged the pace pretty nicely

11 always hard to back up a win with a

so bunk it here again unsure if that

green looks like it

little right as well o just clears the
green side trap but it’s fine for

pretty much take it straight at this

R pins cut just 12 from the front six
from the right don’t want to leak into
that right trap so understandably just
playing out a little bit left of the pin
a good smart shot there from row
s IDE just want to hit some kind of high
carving fade into this whole location
have it come down nice and
soft took a bit of a nasty kick to the
left but and that’s okay for
e two top 10 already this season for
the 22 year
old just rounding up this group

k has been a
professional since
2011 so this is going to be her 12th
year on tour still yet
to win one of these
championships got it a little bit heavy
but no damage done

like second shot of
Junu gets a nice little bit of release
there she’s currently two under bar with
a look there to take her to three under

on just want to land this in The Fringe
like w you mind it back on
11 that Leading Edge really
got tangled up in that wispy rough and
now there’s little bit of work to do
left for Dion who was just cruising
along
nicely W mint looks like a slightly
better
light and a much better result oh my
word rattles the flag stick spins around
but stays above ground
AAR will do the card no harm at
all so birdie effort for Park here
K one of those just past midrange butts
should have a little bit of influence
from left to right as it gets to the
cup good positive stroke there but bit
of meat left on that bone for the now
five time kpj tour
winner so leion at 12 take two this now

gave it a great effort but it’s the
second bogey of the day the
leion now shinil headit at 13 for a
birie this one’s coming uphill so she
can give this one a bit of a run
just a little Pacey that but again a
good positive effort miss it on the high
side with good
Pace Frontage of the green at 14 for
Choy mung just putting through some
Shadows here which does tend to make
distance judgment a little bit trickier
yeah that part was left wanting really
never looked like it had the conviction
from the
get-go good t- shot here from Cho and wo
into 11 or 12 excuse me good chance to
get up to three under stay up oh it just
snapped so hard at the cup you I can see
there look good about 3 ft out and then
never look like going in once it got to
a foot from the
cup so outside look at birdie for j s to
break out of that three-way tie
not this time but a pretty simple
two-part p is going to keep her in a
share hun Kung bit tidying up to do for
her part at the 13th
okay no mistakes there year in year out
easily one of the best PS in the kpj to
never far from the top 10 or top 15 on
the putting stats at the end of the
year drop back down the Fairway and
catch up with hango
Min need to leave this down the right
half of the Fairway but this one looks
like it’s well right the Y in oh dear
well there’s a penalty area down there
but it sounded like
it caught some lumber on the way down
jewry’s out and where that one’s
finished that would a good got a good
line read off J Sunspot earlier see if
rosui can take advantage of that
just needed a little bit more speed but
again PA is fine

attention here leaked a couple right

here a much better swing got through

side waited for it at the top didn’t
rush that transition but it’s going to
catch that that left hand trap but she’s
far enough back where she should be able
to get it up and over that lip without

difficulty power for Chim kyung who’s
had a bit of a messy Journey up this
14th little bit of right to left in
it no never really look settled over
that one did she so a clumsy bogey from
the middle of the Fairway
that’s going to drop Choy M Kong back
down to three under paath first bogey of
this opening round for Choy now Junior
re at 18 to turn in

try that’s a fairly tidy outward half
for her again began her day on the 10th
T so still nine holes to play for Yuri
PTO young just coming off that bogey at
the fifth looking to bounce straight
back only a 110 yards left into this
sixth
ho they cut all the way in the back left
of the green and O that is well deep
into the six so some more problems there
for
Park Kim in Sun seven it’s that one to
stop on a I’m surely moments away from
getting herself to to
underpar choan
woo makes this pin tough to get to is
sometimes you get these hanging lies
like un’s got here ball below your feet
which does promote a left to right shape
tough to get close to these left hole
locations very easy to do what choice

right still safely on the green now le
on it’s a bit of a flat Aline which is
coming out of this Fairway bunker so
important to try and keep a quiet lower
body got to pick this one cleanly for it
to cover its full
yardage oh that is special that’s a
Touch of Class there from Lee Dion
there’s a reason why she’s got three
major
championships pretty much play it from
anywhere when she is healthy she is one
of
those you fancy her chances to be there
or thereabouts almost every single
week saw the t-shot of Wango Min go well
right on this
13th question is is it in the penalty
area has she gotten a break
sounded like it hit something wooden on
the way down not sure whether that was
the steak or whether that was the tree
to her

solid shots in already she’d love to

approach into the 14th she capitalize
here got to be careful here if this
isn’t hit with conviction easy for it to
slide off low
right never a doubt lovely birdie there
for Bang Shin Hill goes to the fringes
of the top 10 at three
under t-shot at the 15th for Cho and
woo promise you that’s not a 79 that is
in fact a driver for choy

and that is another Fairway hit for the
now two-time kpga tour
winner picking up a win early in your
season just does such wonders for your
confidence you know not only you get
that 2-year exemption that comes with a
regular season Triumph 5 years of it’s
major like the kpj championship it just
put you in a nice stream with M you
don’t have to worry about trying to
battle for your card towards the later
stages of the year
just in that state of BU where you can
Freewheel it just take your
opportunities when they come and let the
chips fall where they
may that one’s going to just SC down the
left edge of the Fairway but
it’s absolutely fine for hang yo
mint hasn’t lost her turn on this hole
so it’s roseu first toart for birdie
maybe just a hint to left or right in
this part
just creeps by the right Edge good
effort

as that graphic would like to lead you
to
believe that’s left but it’s good going
to hang on for

the opening round of the 46th

so D on left edge of the
Fairway was a little concern off the tea
but she’s okay and actually has a pretty
good angle to this right
pin but as she leaked it right
again just looks a little quick and
snatchy from the top for my eyes Dion
sort of rushes into that downswing
doesn’t allow herself enough time to
make that
transition just getting a little
stuck is the seven time tour winner
P do Young on the other side of the golf
course her third shot into the par five
seventh pin seven from the right Edge 28
from the
front play a sort of mint flight
Chaser oh got that to bite like a police
dog lovely shot there from par do young
Cho and wo split the Fairway with a t-
shot at the
14th good position to attack
now it was online maybe justess needed
half a club more or bigger first

going for a par five and
two we should just be off a right here
start at the hospitality stance just let
it ride on the
draft it is such a weapon that power she
possesses that is an eagle opportunity

14 she hit it as she hit it she was up
and out of it quickly I think she knew
maybe just not solid contact she was
looking for off the pter

mung just want to carry it past that
front edge to full pitching wedge first
so this one should stop
quickly yeah perhaps a little too
quickly still not a terrible
spot as we quickly slide back to hango
min’s birdie putt at the
14th that’s what Champions do great
response there to the Bogi at 13
immediately bounces back with a birdie
at
14 Jour sun set to play into the 16th
she leads by one should just be a wedge
for her carry past that front
edge this one will come to a pretty
abrupt halt but just didn’t sound like
very solid contact again not the worst
one in the world to leave it that’s a
pretty makeable Chip Shot she’s left to
S of course would prefer to be putting
but again sometimes in golf it’s not so
much how good your good shots are it’s
how good your bad shots are as long as
they don’t cost few too many strokes at
the end of the
day now shinil for Eagle at the par
five needs to hurry needs to
hurry just about
into almost automatic range for
Bang have to think almost every par five
at Lakewood reachable in two for
her so we go up to park to
Young to get herself back up into a
share of fourth at four under after that
lovely approach into seven yeah nicely
done

Cho for a birdie four here at
15 oh
dear just looked like the backing was a
little long there and had to desell into
the
ball not really a good combination if
you ask
me surprised by this choice of club for
joury S electing to putt this one all
addage goes if you’re trying to make it
chip it if you’re trying to get it up
and down put it maybe just not fancying
the lie for that third
shot but the defensive option will yield
apart keeper nose out in front at 6
under he has been a very solid display
of golf from Chinese s so far

kyung watch this Tempo never changes
with this club in her hand it’s like a

back nine
Thursday TR m k has been a little bit
tentative with this club
since we hit the back nine we see if she
can put a positive wrap on this one at
the 16th
shinil all that’s left are tidy up for
her birdie
fall takes a step
closer really should have birdied 11 as
well so she’s at four under par for this
opening round
we can’t get that one to stay high
enough very disappointing for there
after such a fine
approach it’s a clumsy birdie P effort I
should say from joim

and yeah you’re standing on the screen
you’re walking up to the screen thinking
right I’ve got a chance to get myself
into red
figures walk off with the bogey six
after a threep from out of
nowhere that’s a real disappointing drop
shot there for tro
Rim Dion back down in the
Fairway just going to try to leave this
one H and
deep all sit settle down in that right R
it’s going to come up with a bit of Top
Spin which she leak this one out
right no harm done that swing’s just
looking a little bit out of syn for the
defending champion at a couple of spots
on this back
nine do young coming out the left rough
into the
eighth going to make it tricky to stop
it in the front hole location it’s just
10 from the front
edge play that with a lot of Loft and
very craftily done there from Park
TR and Wu laying up with a hybrid here
so really trying to nudge this one as
far down the Fairway as possible
so out of the right rough at what looks
like the
18th where we find Kim Gan who’s had a
very solid opening round three under the
card oh oh dear oh oh
no that’s a pretty steep Bank there that
could very well end up in the penalty
area that is a real shame was playing so
nicely this opening round and that is
going to be a very unpleasant way to win
her
day hango M 213 M left so it’s in the go
Zone she’s going to need to catch all of
it though there’s troubl short left of
this par five
Green Oh certainly got all of it what a
shot from hang yo

indeed tell you what the resilience of
this young lady the ability to bounce
back poor shot on 13 leads to a bogy put
two good swings and it holds a nice p on
14 for a bounce back birdie and then
this absolutely Sublime
three-wood setting up an eagle
opportunity for the moneyist leader to
get herself up to three
underpar rosui with that brand

iron looked pretty locked in to me all
day

W got it down that Fairway as far as
