One BIG PROBLEM With Ping’s New LONGEST EVER IRONS…

BRAND NEW! Ping’s “Most FORGIVING/LONGEST Irons EVER!?”

when ping release a new set of forgiving
irons people tend to listen especially
when they done the G symbol introducing
the brand new for 2024 ping g730 ions
these things look different now usually
in introduction I say these things look
amazing these things look great I think
they look a little bit different I think
the may you start to split opinion here
but they’re certainly going to do what
you want them to do I’ve tested these in
the studio already we’re going to test
them out the golf course today as well

are these going to be and is this a
little look into the future of Ping’s
forgiving golf clubs because I really
enjoyed the Ping g700 ions they were
blacked out they were amazing and
they’ve gone away from that one of the
things that the black finish did for me
was really mask how big and cumbersome
potentially these irons could be do they
feel okay as well because a lot of
people who buy Ping irons like this tend
to like them a little bit firmer so
today that’s what we’re going to try out
here at wly Park Golf Club got the 79 to
kick things off with and immediately
looking down at this you can see loads
of offset massive Top Line massive blade
length it’s designed for the person who
wants ultimate forgiveness I’ve not got
a problem with that for someone like my
dad these would be a game Cher I think
for a lot of people you may get them in
like a graphite light shaft and they’
just be kind of launching machines like
you Bobby right
we’ve just hit some tailor made Qi irons
on here can we get closer with the
g73s how high is that gone Bobby and you
know what it felt that’s gone so far
that’s gone miles it felt really really
different it felt not ping like but it
almost felt a bit clicky so that’s going
to be interesting to test throughout
this video how do they feel and also if
they’re that easy to launch would you
potenti put them in the bag we’re going
to check them for spin rates as well and
see just how much ball speed we get with
these but you can see just how much
technology we do have in there and we’ll
discuss that a little bit later in this
video but I imagine these are going to
be absolute machines so it’s gone left
there’s loads of offset so I sort of
understand
that but I’ve not ate that one that well
so I’ve interested to see again straight
to the left hand side of that green and
I think that’s flag high again for a
shot which let’s be fair I haven’t
really struck that well I’ll be
interested to move up into the long
irons and see just how they perform but
also with the shorter irons because how
many people go above seven ion when you
have such a forgiving iron like this do
a lot of people go into hybrids go into
seven Woods 11 Woods would you go six
iron five iron potentially even four
iron I’m not sure they even do a four
iron to be brutally honest but one thing
ping do really well is fit these clubs
to within an inch of their life so you
can certainly go and get them in your
specs if you want them these are as
close to my specs as I can get to be
honest KBS 120s and a nice little red
dot so a little bit flatter Turf
interactions been really good I really
really can’t fault that so if you still
want to take nice divots you can come on
man there we go tried to hold that one
off a bit more that’s all over the
flag and that’s did you see how far that
went for reference that’s like 200 yards
near enough guys let’s test some more of
these ping g730 ions by the way that
name’s taking getting some saying I
can’t seem to say it right every time
but let’s go and test the short is Let’s
test them inside and let’s see just how
forgiving these bad boys are might even
let Bobby have a
go so interestingly ping claim these are
their longest and most forgiving iron
ever now for Ping to come out and say
that is quite interesting because I mean
this with all the most respect but ping
aren’t tailor made and they aren’t
Callaway they generally don’t start
making remarks like that unless they can
prove it and these clubs do feature a
hyper 17-4 stainless steel face which is
thinner for more flexing to increase
launch angling distance it also features
a larger cast head with more offset and
a wider soulle to enhance Moi and
forgiveness and it also features a pure
Flex cavity badge technology which
improves feel and helps deliver powerful
sound I’ve read that off a sheet but
that feel and sound thing come on really
I mean don’t get wrong they’re not they
go a long way we ain’t going to start
saying the feel good though have we no
no no ping no no no okay so numbers for
the Ping G7 30 ions these aren’t going
to be everyone’s cup of tea but I think
if you’re wanting a forgiving game
improvement iron nobody really does it
better than ping so without any further
Ado we’ll start with the nine iron then
we’ll move up through the seven ion and
the five there go let you carry them how
far will this go how bad will it feel
and how much Spin and control will we
get there’re the three things that I
would ask myself for these irons I sound
like just Stone not above it
right elephant in the room that sounded
horrendous
but it’s down the middle it’s a 1519
ion did that hurt your ears it did it
didn’t sound very good did it but a lot
of people who do game these clubs so the
G Series the g00 G10 g430 all those
clubs the people who buy these know what
to expect you kind of know they’re going
to feel firm a lot of people like that
if you like
that forgiveness wise I’ve really not
hit that very well and it’s a 148 with
154 for nine iron these are going to
work for you if you’re in the market for
game improvement clubs we’ve seen it out
on the course already it almost does it
for
you and I think In fairness you soon get
used to that feel I’m already used to it
I already know look how far that’s gone
right they go a long way they go a long
way B give me the seven give me the
seven let’s go with that and let’s see
not used to this are you can we get a
200 yard 7 IR am found the ambulance
Bobby we’re going to need
it I think that so good as well a little
bit left as loads of offset on here as
you would imagine really B go on go
on 188 spinning at 5,000 spin’s going to
be low on these spin is going to be low
these are the standard Loft by the way
you can get retro Loft you can get power
Loft imagine power Loft in these wow wow
they actually don’t look bad down at the
ball either you know compared to
previous gens of
gons
that performance wise is staggering it’s
really really good I’m not going to lie
it’s fantastic still spinning at nearly
6,000 it didn’t feel amazing which I’m
I’m going to stop saying that because I
feel like anyone that’s in the market
feels knows what they’re going to feel
like but you may not know just how good
these potentially look compared to
previous generations and they really do
bag of Peel wise stunning at the ball
somehow they look Compact and I have no
idea how and then when you hit them like
this fair to
say I mean that was awful that was towy
I was back here Dynamic Loft there’s
loads what we got still a 180 carry 188
total can we hit you know I’ll do this
with the five I have please Bobby thank
you very much sir it sounds awful
doesn’t it guys I apologize for the
voice I AP I can’t do anything about it
do you remember her off One Tree Hill
with the rough voice what was she called
oh what was she called Bros wasn’t she
um no clothes over Bros that was
it what was she called that’s going to
bug me now Brooke Davis five ion let’s
go normal then let’s try and flight it
down I’ve struck that good again it
sounds horrific I said I’d stop saying
that but I can’t
and that’s
gone 200 200 53 spin mustn’t have been a
great strike that but and that’s the
thing you can’t really tell because you
don’t really get that much feedback with
where you hit them on the face I felt
like that was okay but evidently
compared to the rest of them maybe it
wasn’t
so that is deep it’s left but it’s deep
204 to we’re getting into the Realms now
of just really really long golf clubs
and I’ve just tested the 530s I’d be
interested to see the Forgiveness levels
between these and the I 530s cuz the I
530s still feel pretty good still
perform exceptional and I think they
still look a little bit better than
these as well so I think if you’re in
the market maybe if you’re having
lessons would you potentially just go
and get the I 530s work on your
game or do you want that ball flight
with your
fiveon Rob look how far this is
carrying 210 carry guys let’s get back
out the golf of course and let’s see
what we can muster up with the brand new
730s okay so let’s talk 9on because this
looks massive but I think for the right
golfer that’s okay you can see we’ve got
the waiting in the toe there and you can
see we’ve got all that gobbing in the
back that we have spoken about to help
it feel and sound better I don’t know I
don’t know but 150 yards out of the roof
can we control this club can we control
potentially the spin rate are we going
to get a fly is it going to come out hot
can we just hit the green we got a
couple of balls let’s see uh what we can
do we’ll go three cuz we’ve been going
three haven’t we we’ll hit them pretty
much as they lie and I feel like looking
down at this again plenty of offset but
actually it starts to look a little bit
smaller the 79 looks pretty big wait
till you see the five iron that looks
like me after a full weekend away but
that 9 iron I don’t think looks overly
bad Bobby that is terrible work that’s
your worst work yet that is your worst
effort yet that anyway
that didn’t feel as bad it’s gone left I
think it’s gone that might be flag High
you know that that might be flag High it
might be over the green can’t be you
know what the 99 doesn’t look that
bad oh I’ve not that very well that’s
the one that I would hope goes a long
way you know the one that you don’t
really hit that well and you hope that
you get the the Forgiveness out of it
this one’s sat down so I’m interested to
see what we get here
and that was so easy to gouge out the
roof there right we’ve got one I think
that’s got to be up there that I think
potentially those could be quite good
let’s get down there let’s see exactly
where they are then let’s talk numbers
for these ping g730 ions and I’ll clean
them as well what with you so you can
see the one that went a little bit right
the third shot is flag High nicely the
one that I really wanted to get up there
is a little bit short and the first one
is flag High just over to the left as
you could tell with the numbers these
things are absolute machines and in the
wrong hands there could be an absolute
nightmare but in the right hands there
could be an absolute dream Let’s test
the long out here on the course and see
potentially if you would have it in your
bag okay so we are right at the back of
the par 39 pole measuring around 200 yd
uphill if this five iron gets there we
we kind of know where this video is
going don’t we but how does the 5 ion
feel cuz inside died a little inside
these feel that firm that clicky that
loud but if you’re a ping fan and you
have been for a very long time it might
well not be a shock to you how they feel
and you might actually quite like it so
without any further Ado clunk this looks
so easy to hit though confidence
inspiring look at that be the club get
over the
bunker it has as well I didn’t even hit
that that well I just felt like I just
made anything that resembled a swing and
I think it did
okay oh no that’s the one you don’t want
watch how far this goes Bobby that’s
lost that
watch that’s a gonner and that with
these clubs could catch you out because
if you do come a little bit over it and
you deloft it a bit and pull it that’s
probably gone like 230 yards that and we
saw in the studio that it was rivaling
some two ions this 5 a.m. so you have to
know what you’re doing with it and like
I said in the wrong hands it could be
disastrous but in the right hands which
I don’t think I
am it could be beautiful like that one
just fading nicely into the middle of
the green guys that is my review of the
brand new ping g730 ions if you’ve

although these are power irons you can
see just how much control we’ve had here
these were both five ions we’ve hit into
this par three green and Bob’s still
learning how toly Shadow is at this time
in the morning but you’re taking that
all day aren’t you that has to have come
back a little bit and for a five Ion
with not a lot of Loft on it and let’s
be fair not a lot of spin rate would
take that all day
