In this video Rick Shiels puts the newest irons from Ping Golf through its paces in the H.I.T Studio. They have a hefty price tag but are they worth it?

Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

in this gorgeous vessel bag there’s some
brand new ping blueprint s
irons they’re really interesting looking
if someone had said guess what brand
these are from I wouldn’t have said ping
I would have gravitate towards tailor
made they look very much more like
tailor made Callaway esque now this set
of irons from four iron to pitching
wedge is £
1,300 they’re forged they’ve got very
much Pro preferred look and in this
video I’m going to hit the S iron 4 IR
pitch wedge and give you my honest
review of these irons now I’ve had Ping
irons in the past I love Ping irons I
really do um but these are just a very
different look for Ping I’m I’m liking
it I’m not I’m not against it one bit um
what’s interesting with this set the
three four and five iron have a forged
pocket to save weight and to increase
the moment of inertia uh where obviously
six iron down to pitching might do not
have that
so Loft wise on these irons are not
super strong uh 33 de of Loft for the S
iron uh 45 degrees of L for the pitching
wedge um very much kind of in that again
that player category I’m going to hit
some shots I’m I’m excited I’m intrigued
uh obviously ping have made great irons
for years and years and years they often
have a very um similar feel across the
board of irons I’ve got other ping to
review as well which will be coming to
the hit Channel very soon um but
blueprint f
yes just nice just a nice looking set of
irons let’s be honest aren’t they
they’re just a nice looking set of irons
look good behind the ball as well to be
honest look at looks Slimmer behind the
ball than you do up here and again going
back to that kind of pro preferred look
they’ve done a very very clever job of
making the iron look smaller behind the
golf ball you’re right enough talking
let’s get hitting blue ping blueprint s
irons let’s see how they fly how they
feel great feel off
face actually got a bit longer I might
might just cuz I pulled it I might just
move the green back another 10 yards
first hit I’m going to slightly tweak my
remark I made just moments ago that all
Ping irons feel quite similar certainly
the better player
irons that felt different that felt very
different in a good way
flight solid as well right I’m going to
hit a bunch of these clubs I’m going to
hit 74 and pitching wedge and then give
give you my
full in-depth analysis so far so good
the feel is O very nice
almost
almost so as you can see there the
average carry distance I getting was 172
yards perfect for that Loft really good
flight very good spin rate good ball
speed to be honest I’ve actually find it
very easy to hit I thinned one and it
still found the green
comfortably very good with the sevens
let’s move on to the pitching wedge next
pitching wedge numbers good as well 137
yards carry Solid spin rate nearly 9,000
RPM I did have an unquestionable
uh first shot which we’ve not used for
the data obviously that was just a
warm-up shot onto the for IR in coming
up
next and the forine did not disappoint
check out this shot where almost held
there was flushed
[Music]
average carry distance 212 yards spin
rate very impressive for a 4 iron
4,300 and really good ball speed as
well I so wanted to make a good shot as
well
overall I’m a big fan of these irons I
am I’ve just put new ions in the bag but
if I hadn’t these could easily go in
there I think they look great look great
behind the golf ball they’re not going
to be the most forgiving set of irons
for pink you know if you looking for
more forgiveness the different models
but certainly that four iron felt easy
to hit maybe that’s that extra Pocket
here at the back beautiful set of irons
no question and uh definitely get the
stamp of approval from me

  1. Love the extra content…would love a little extra time for a few points…are these irons good for shape ability? Are these a better players irons or would they suit a mid handicapper? Despite the conservative lofts, they play a little long? Prone to that sweetspot 10-15 yard extra shots? I always love your content and have followed from the beginning…I love the club reviews but adding which clubs these compete with and adding comparison videos are always appreciated to make us better consumers. Thanks Rick!

  2. Couldn't uhhhhh couldn't help but notice you had a box of Kirkland Signature clubs back there. Come on Rick give all us middle aged dad's the review we have all been waiting for!

  3. Nice irons, a lot of guys on tour use them,,, some diehard S55 players switched to these so that's a statement in itself. Guys like Matt Fitzpatrick for example.
Makes me wonder even more how Ping will improve on this a few years from now…

  4. Love the reviews Rick. i actually really love the comparisson videos with older models vs newer models. I think it really helps people realize the value of second hand clubs

  5. Rick, why do you think you hit it so straight and pure for most part in the simulator and then you have a tendency towards a draw etc on the course?

  6. This review just feels, weak. Compared to all other reviews, this feels like just checking off a list. This is an iron that could go in the bag and should compete with the Wilson’s. They should be given much more attention than this paltry review.

  7. These reviews are good for those like me who have no idea about the tech spec , eg spin ect. Feel , look and price and expected distance are most of what I understand

  8. Ping are on a roll at present the i230 is a cracking club these if were out when I got the i230 id of had them feel great

  9. The older Blueprints with no tuning port looked phenomenal and could still be tuned without issue im not sold on bringing the cutout back.

  10. This is what we need! Quick, straight to the point reviews from someone we trust to help us with our purchases. Please do the Takomo irons at some stage, so many endorsed reviews out there wont go near them till I see what you think.

  11. I hope that with the Blueprint S now here, the i240 can go back to being more like the i210. The i210 was an iron anyone could play and the i230 moved more towards the tour look, especially with the smaller mid and long irons.
