today par 58 his second shot Steve S in
The Telecast St little bit remniscent of
Sergio 1999 at Madina from under the
tree ran after it minus the scissor
kick yeah got a little fire in him too
like uh El Nino in the time and back in
the

five12 you’ll see him grab the shoulder
this was an issue from the
start slept on it wrong woke up didn’t
feel great that happens but he fought
through it that’s for
sure just a lot of t- shots

left well he’s been doing this all week

a long a large number of putts outside
of 10

the guy who’s come a long ways from

joerger uh all sorts of ways to go in
this game and and six winners this year
were outside the top 100 skins is 177
toasty’s 145 a Chad Ry down at 700 par
he’s 261 you never know a lot of focus
on Alejandro toasty uh challenging Tony
phen now early in the round fighting
through the pain lots of fist pumps that
sort of sevy energy out there here’s
toasty after the
round uh well I had a rough night um of
course with being in this position for
the first time I think all the stress
just woke up in the middle of the night
and I had some pain in the neck and it
just kept getting worse and first the
next thing I know I’m showing up to the
course and I can barely turn my shoulder
my my head to the to the right and went
to get some treatment Tred to warm it up
loosen it up a little bit um but it was
hard I on the Range I was just hitting
half of my swing trying to see what it
was going to be like to play like that
but I’m happy that I was able to score
uh pretty good and and now have a chance
for for a good round tomorrow yeah you
showed a lot of fight and a lot of grit
out there what are you most proud of in
the fact you kept fighting despite the
pain yeah I know that’s that’s all it
was I mean just I said you know there
are things that out out of my control
like like having this injury that it was
not an injury it’s just I probably all
the stress that I’ve been through and
like all the we on my body
um but you know my attitude was really
good I said you know can’t do nothing
more than try to give my myself a good
chance and fight the best I can which I
did and ended up with with a good 200
today back to toasty and that incident
with Tony finenow fourth hole on the
putting green here’s how it went down
what do you have down there well funny
almost little match play situation
toasty and feno’s ball ended up within
six Ines of each other they both were
just walking around the green reading it
thinking the other was away and there
still trying to decide and it would be
an advantage to put second here to get a
look at it but it almost feels like a
match play situation right now bring out
the
string never seen this much discussion
on uh in stroke play Kurt yeah it’s
interesting I I would definitely want to
see the other guy putt first to get a
look at the

line looks like d3e was brought in to be
the impartial Observer make a decision
he is decided toasty his away so he’ll
be playing first
maybe a half a coin further away I don’t
know that’s that’s when you break out
the dime cuz it just looks smaller and
closer than the quarter Toy’s got a
laugh at our angle it’s really tough to
tell but it almost looks like Tony’s
balls further away yeah I think toasty
definitely disagrees with this cuz he
was kind of smiling and laughing when to
Tony pointed at
him so we will it’s just a strange
situation I’ve never seen this much
discussion over a putt maybe this is H
where you just have to defer to the
veteran player I don’t
know boy look at that putting though
toast he’s been lighting it up on the
greens leading the field through two
rounds plus five in The Strokes gain
category so this part of his game has
been fantastic he can move it out there
too he’s very
long maybe toy said I’ll go first but
Tony you got to close your
eyes keep it fair keep it
fair shouldn’t be a whole heck of a lot
in this there’s some speed past the
hole let’s dive deeper into this let’s
welcome in PGA Tour revich Mark dub kind
of a wild scenario out there mark it is
kind of wild Steve thank you there isn’t
really anything as far as playing out of
turn here in stroke play so if they
really wanted to get technical we could
go to shot link and see if they’re how
precise shot link is with it but
otherwise you are going to just just
have to flip a
coin
thank I’m going to be standing on on the
line of that coin I

my I’m going to be standing the line of
that yeah it’s fine
yeah yes the the coin was bothering him
where it originally was so he had it
moved a little further
away okay joh is he now going to be
standing right where the coin will be
put back I think that’s why he was
telling asking Tony to move it yeah but
with it now that you can tap things down
I think Tony would much rather see a
putt than worry about a little
indentation that he can
fix he’s going to get a good read off of
that that was ideal

speed so shotlink had both players at 38
feet 8 in they both two- putted went on
to make their pars and from there uh
toasty played the rest of the way in
three under actuallyy Birdie the fifth
Tony bogey the 5th and played the rest
of the way at two overp I’m not
suggesting that the 5′ 6 in toaster
boded the 6’4 inch big man from Utah but
it did make for a fascinating day and it
introduced us to a guy in Alejandro
toasty I will just say this at trip uh
his college coach JC deacon at Florida
said quote he is not out there to make
friends he is out there to rip your
heart out has to do with his background
meager Beginnings we’ll get to that
later what how you read uh what went
down out there not very many rookies
would do what he just did I mean he
stood up to you know a guy that’s has a
reputation and and a good reputation but
you know the veteran a guy that most
people would just want to get out of the
way of and be intimidated by that tells
me right there that whole sequence and
how how he was bothered by it and he
went around and he he said okay you got
to move your coin and I’m going to be
standing on it he was actually trying to
turn the table back on the veteran in
way I think it shows me he’s got a lot
of fight in him and we may not be uh
seeing the end of toasty tomorrow I
think he could be one of those guys that
could be right there at the end with a
Chance trip what is the protocol out
there you’ve been been on tour uh you
know and Kurt Byam sort of referenced
this that maybe he should have deferred
to the veteran who has six wins played
on the Ryder Cup the President’s Cup
Etc oh no that is typically what is the
protocol but look he he has every right
to stand up and say I disagree with this
I don’t think you know and ultimately if
if it would have continued as Mark dpic
told us on that on that sound that they
would have had to bring in an official
and basically do a coin flip but I I
that just says a lot because there not
many rookies that would do what he did
uh Toy’s got a lot of fire yeah I
mentioned that sevy energy and what I
meant by that is he’s kind of in yourf
face not afraid to bring it maybe golf
in this era of of friendship uh golf
could usually a little bit a little bit
of that a lot of the black cats went
went over to live um this guy you know
as long as we’re in baseball season he’s
the smaller guy with an edge he’s like
