Peter Mady pulled his approach shot on
hole number 16 over the back of the
green into some rough near some
sprinkler heads this was going to be a
super difficult up and down but luckily
he knew this underused rule of golf
sprinkler heads are immovable
obstructions and if they interfere with
your swing or stance you’re entitled to
free relief being a righty malady’s
nearest point of relief was actually
just On The Fringe which made for a
significantly easier up and down he was
able to convert it for par and then he
went on to to take home the dub on hole
number 18 of the valbar championship
this sprinkler head relief may have
helped win him 1.5 million it pays to

I've seen this before and can't help but think about the uptight rules of golf but then you can essentially hit a bad shot and get relief out of the trouble you got yourself in.. makes no sense to me when I have to play out of a fairway divot. What's fair about that?
