It amazes me these record setting golf clubs, that Jordan used to win around Augusta are going for these prices.

  1. There's an old saying here in Texas, "It ain't the bow and arrow, it's the indian" There are plenty of youtube golf videos of good/great players taking old thrift store clubs, cheap big box brands or rentals and shooting low rounds. Contrary to what the golf club manufacturers would want you to believe, there isn't a magic bullet club to fix a bad swing. A scratch golfer can still take a 40 year old set of irons like the Ping Eye 2's, Wilson Staffs, Haig Ultras or Hogan Apex's and play good golf. The woods and ball have changed the most. I can remember when Taylor Made first came out with the metal woods and later Callaway came out with the first Big Bertha oversized head, which is like a 5 wood from today. Again, it still all comes down to a good swing, short game and putting stroke, and less what's in the bag.

  2. Good shout in the shafts video. See so much these days about Velocore this and 'tour spec' that… Would it actually make a difference to your average golfer or is it just a way of selling £300+ shafts to the unknowing?
