The 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur began Wednesday with 72 of the world’s top amateur golfers competing in Augusta, Ga. Scotland’s Hannah Darling took a one-stroke lead after the first round with a six-under 66.
She set a new Championship record for most birdies in a round with eight, including six birdies on her opening nine holes. She also tied the record for low first-round score, equaling Rose Zhang’s opening 66 in 2023.

The 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be contested March 31 – April 1. Watch the first and second rounds live on Golf Channel, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm EDT. The final round will air on NBC on Saturday from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
