They need to keep everyone in the competition as long as possible. Creates a competitive atmosphere for the viewer and more opportunities for content. If they played strict you’d see the top golfers typically always win. And eventually lose views

They could have given them more accurate handicaps. First of all there is no way Brad should be playing against Bryson straight up. Bryson is like a +7 while Brad might be a +2. Garrett is maybe a 1. Matt is like a 5, Steve is around a 10 and Bubbie has been playing like a 12 since last summer.
