Then went away what really harded his game scores goals um scores goals for hearts um but people in the North of hiring and signing Strikers know what level he’s at the really big Strikers when you get that chance I hate to be really brutal when you get the chances

That goal you might only get one chance in the game that’s the really good players Lauren shankin and I’m not I’m not blowing him out of the water but those chances when you go up a level you’ve got to take them and the other teams kill you if you don’t and and the

Netherlands did it even it did you know we them it’s in the back of the net for me Shang was a guy who’d be good to bring on for the last 50 minutes age chasing a goal for me sh Adams should be the number one uh Lyon D I mean Shadows

Is actually I was looking at it last night since Christmas I think he scored nine and 18 games so he’s in a good runner form yeah for South Hampton I’ll be in in the championship but for me he’s a number one Striker uh dkes is there to give you a bit of physicality

This too loyal mainly from Hearts fans thought sh should have started and Craig Gordon should be in goals and a lot of the comment is food is kind of tribal prism isn’t it but but ultimately as you says we have what we have and and then

What he has is he’s actually done really well to get a tune to find sh Adams get a tune out of them sem London dkes so we have to accept the limitations the problem is 12 months ago this week they put three goals past Cyprus they put two

Game he’s basically trying to copy what Scotland are doing Island are trying to become Scotland Doppel gangers that was it was Scotland needed last night yeah they needed something that was going to prepare them for Germany and and Hungary in Switzerland and okay that’s not

Always possible but I go back to I just thought it was just totally the worst game at the long time yeah and the other thing I don’t know any I I’m trying to think through my career of following Scotland and actually watching major tournaments I I would I just disregard

Anybody who writes off the Germans when it comes to tournament time they have a different mentality as soon as a tournament starts and because it’s in their own backyard oh the own back and this is going to be this whole already in Germany you know taking off huge put

Pressure on them though you think I oh definitely pressure because they’ll be the pressure is this they they’ve got to win it any any and that sounds ridiculous but anything below winning a whole tournament for Germany is a real failure yeah well David Martin de I was

Speaking to him today and he said you know no from a manager’s perspective he’s you know 100% confidence in Steve Clark it you know it’s friendlies it’s tournament time that counts and we’re there and we know what we are and we know what we’re good at so you

Know when you get managers and uh you know obviously there a little bit of a union but I I think we should take the attitude of okay brush ourselves down couple of rebounds games to come you would have bitten off someone’s hand if they’d offered you this scenario

In the very recent past you went for 20 or years without qualifying for a major tournament I think the fact that you’re there you know essentially what you’ve got you’ve got a very very good coach a very experienced coach at the helm I think you go and see and you qualified

From a group now that three teams have qualified Georgia qualifed last so you’ve qualified from a very strong group I mean I would park a lot of two games to spare and and actually what’s overlooked is it those two games to spare are part of the seven game absolutely as well as

Three psychological how often do you see a team wins the league and then they stutter to the to the end because because you can’t you just can’t make it not a huge drop off either just that you can’t manufacture that competitive need I’m not making excuses though plus of

Course A lot of them are in high profile games for Club at the moment they’re under a lot of pressure as well um you’re coming to the business end of the season you know listen I’m not I’m not I don’t want to take anything away from Northern Ireland fair play to them we

Could single out mistakes that were made in the back that was punished um with Nathan Patterson but I think we all know they 11 Liv that we think are going to start the games fingers crossed we get something positive put it this way Stephen if he gets us out of the group

Know even when when you witnessed Costa Rica and You’ witnessed some results that just def I believe listen I’ve managed to work with a guy for 11 years who shattered me as a kid when I thought we’re going to win the World Cup in 1978 I can remember being at Scotland England

Game and I think it was a Centenary game and it was at Hamden where we lost either five down the 51 and we started the fire in the T cuz it was so cold and never went home if you look up YouTube we’re all huddled around this it was

People say say you know he’s been really controversial at a time to try and boost his podcast that aside his criticism of a young 17-year-old girl I thought was just I started taking it just a we bit too far yeah I think there’s a couple of points

That you have to make I think the first one is when you play in a final like that and you make a mistake there will be criticism there has to be criticism there has to be a level of accountability when you play play at a professional level I think we would all

Accept that and I’ll also Carri at that by saying I think women’s football sometime has been guilty I’ve not been able to take that criticism I think there an element of we all want to be cheerleaders and you want to be fairly poning sometimes about saying we’re growing it we’re developing it and

There’s a weariness of being negative or being perceived to be negative with criticism so I think criticism is a necessary part of the game it’s an acceptable part of the game without it the game doesn’t grow you need it players need it it’s just a part of it h and for respectability and

Accountability you need it but what Joy Barton done was very different from that it was sarcastic it was mocking it wasn’t a critique what that was it was a dog whistle to 2.8 million people some of whom I think represent the very worst in what we see in social media platforms

And it invited a Pyon to 17-year-old part-time player who’s packing her bags and going to school on Monday morning who’s completely unprepared for that level of scrutiny and that level of attention some of it is aboring I don’t know if you read some of the comments but they’re entirely predictable get

Back to the kitchen get back you know stuff that’s tired I mean my God it’s still even if someone could be a bit original with with their um comments would be nice but they are entirely predictable you know what you’re getting with it so I think I I think Joy

Barton’s misogyny just seeps out of them Joy Barton would be quite happy for women to be unseen unheard and definitely not on any kind of parity in terms of of a sporting landscape and I think that’s where the problem comes because it didn’t come from an interest

Within the game it came to try and ridicule her to mock her to to put her down and I think it it left a s taste for a lot of people as you saw by the response it generated within people people within the women’s football

Community yeah um I I think uh I think the point you make give us an opportunity to to dissect the game in in a sense you um I think the attack on the girl was totally uncalled for I like what you say Allison on the fact that I think many footballers you

Know male and female part and partially the job is criticism comes your way the difference here is that I always look and equate the argument over tennis and where tennis is a sport because of the heroics in my view of Billy Jean King in the early ’70s

And and her battle was not for them to be treated equally as tennis players uh as such physically and how they play the game because what she was able to do and what women tennis players up and down the country right across the globe are

Able to say is this is a different game this is a different equally appealing you know let’s celebrate it let’s grow it let’s get you know the demand there and let’s reap the rewards of it and I think Billy Jean King was a Pioneer in that sense I never

Look at a woman’s football game and start measuring it against men even his argument um Joy Barton’s argument about people who are ill qualified to comment on the men’s game that comment couldn’t be put put out as a balanced argument because he he he put so many different

Other caveats into it that ended up you actually looked at him and thought all your points are lost because one he’s abusive misogynistic um and again you know I don’t think you could I don’t think you could even dissect any of his points because it’s shrouded in this

Anti- women stance that it takes at times I mean and I’m very reluctant to to talk about him I mean I know I have because I’ve got because I think there’s a great danger of over amplifying his worth and and you know and oh joy B says

Who the who cares I mean obviously when he starts hurting people not it becomes you know becomes something we have to address but I’m always the minute the goalkeeper made there I said that’s a joey Barton tweet see as soon as I saw it I said there’s a joy and you see

You think he’s sitting watching that game analyzing it and and saying oh yeah got young goalkeeper no he’s just he’s he’s seen the tweet and he’s seen the the goal and said right jump right into it and it’s all to fit an agenda it’s nothing to do with improving the women’s

Game there nothing even to do with celebrating the men’s game in contrast is just to promote his agenda which is to get more listeners and subscribers podcast the M Kitty Hopkins that’s I mean I’m going to offer a MIAA here because I saw the Scottish News Sunday

Mental health and one of your daughters was getting when that girl was getting a semi-professional player who’s as Al say bag to go school yeah and I think that’s part of the problem as well is that the game in Scotland all right Celtic and re are making a push out it with fulltime

Teams now but it’s still effectively semi-professional at a lot of the levels yeah and the game is it’s almost kind of ahead of itself respect of the fact that it’s not quite ready for all the exposure it’s getting I understand why has to get that exposure but it’s still

The standard still has to catch up with investment absolutely you know and and really why you have a team like it is like Man City playing aington Stanley because you have Rangers with a fulltime team a couple of the players in there that would be the top paid players in

The country by a fair distance good resources the wealthiest team in the country playing a team that’s made up in entirely of part-time players so the partic title do not have one player who’s on a full-time contract and the only team in the top six that’s entirely

Part-time now Brian gam was in here in our women’s football show explaining before a midweek game that he’s phing head teachers and H fire fire service saying please can we get a couple of hours off because I need my players to be able to get to our bro for a midweek

Game you know it’s you’re looking at two different Landscapes within the same leag which is very very different Jud to pass judgment on that but the standards of G is wi the other thing is the culture of it because see of for example see HRI of Brazil had made a terrible

Mistake yesterday and got absolutely slaughtered and you know 17 as well and he’s 17 right HRI would be dealing with much better not because of Any sexuality or that because the culture of it is he’s been in the front Lin since was eight and I’m talking about re nine or

Standard and pick out mistakes in every single game you could watch Messi this weekend and look at three things he does wrong everyone makes a mistake goalkeepers we know are slightly different because obviously St is magnified to such an extent but what what I felt was really harsh was that

She’s thrust in to this position through no fault of her own now and it all comes down to money so partic thisle don’t have the money to say our regular goalkeeper cannot play against her parent Club she’s she’s um she’s on loan she can’t play against now they’ve known

This for a month but you don’t have the resources to say we have to solve this problem by by bringing someone else I I don’t think you need to make that excuse you’ve got a kid that’s played 11 first team games no I know I understand the

Circumstances of how she managed to get in I don’t think and I’m not criticizing you for it I just don’t think we need to make the excuse of why she found herself in the goal I think we need to look and dissect his treatment of an individual I

Think that’s really at the core of it all and I wonder two last points on this before we move on you know I know Rachel Cory and lean Kon had suggested it was a it was a form of bullying from Bart but the point I’m going to make here is it’s
