Hey everybody thanks for tuning in I’m George con with scratch golf tips today I wanted to break down something that I see a lot of amateur golfers doing on the golf course that we really shouldn’t be doing and it actually hurts our play even though we think that it helps it

Quite a bit now what I’m talking about is trying to make notable swing adjustments mid round as we all know 18 holes is a lot of golf it takes four or five hours on the golf course and often times you know maybe the first couple holes you take out driver and then

You’re a little bit Wayward you’re missing it left you’re missing it right and then on the next T you’re spending a lot of time before your shot you know kind of working on your swing plane maybe working on opening up the hips working on your swing Tempo doing all of

These things really thinking through your swing on the golf course and I’m here to tell you that that’s actually hurting your golf much more than it’s helping it as I’ve mentioned before on this channel to make a really effective swing change takes a lot of reps it

Takes a lot of patience it takes a lot of intentional work none of that you can really do while you’re playing a round of golf on the golf course even if you’re dropping a couple balls taking your time it’s not effective to do that while you’re on the course so instead I

Think it’s very important to embrace the kind of golf that you’re playing that day I know that for me there are a lot of days when I have a draw with my irons there are also days when I have a fade with my irons so when I’m fading my

Irons right now that’s a little bit more uncomfortable for me but I’m not going to try and really work on my face rotation and I’m not going to stand over the ball thinking about a bunch of different things for that day I’m just going to embrace my flight again

Understand that by embracing your flight you’re not making any changes but it might be uncomfortable you might put yourself in some difficult situations but that’s part of golf is you know when I step into a round and I’m feeling a little bit uncomfortable with my ball

Striking I just need to go into the rest of that round you know the next 15 holes and say listen I’m going to be a little uncomfortable and it’s time for me to scramble if I want to make a good score but on the other end of that token if I

Were to say all right how can I fix my iron play how can I fix my driver right now in the middle of this round I would actually be putting myself in a world of hurt because I would be shanking balls I’d be thinning them over the green I’d

Be doing all kinds of bad stuff so by embracing it and just saying maybe I can scramble and put together a good score I’m going to be a much more consistent golfer now is is that going to lead to me shooting an excellent score every time no but does any amateur golfer

Shoot an excellent score every time no if you’re if you want to improve your handicap you need to improve your consistency in your scoring and a great way to improve that consistency is by not trying to really work through your golf swing oh I need to be a little bit

More shallow I need to get my upper body just don’t complicate things on the golf course I’m not saying don’t work on your swing absolutely working on your swing is one of the most important things you can do in golf but that’s for the driving range that is not for the course

It’s just going to lead to a world of hurt all kinds of doubles and triples so I know that this is not really a mechanic video it’s more of an approach but I think that these types of tips and you know instructional content is important because I see so many people

Trying to work on their swing on on the golf course and you know if it’s not there that day just play with what you got and learn it best you can by the first nine holes on that back n you should understand what you’re doing what

Your errors are and just play to them and understand that and go into it with that type of mentality let me know your thoughts on this I’m always open to different uh ideologies in terms of what we’re doing on the golf course and not the golf course if you have any
