So we’ve got another New Ping golf club to review today the Ping g730 is this Ping’s most forgiving Iron ping got a wide range of clubs out there at the moment for all types of golfers we’ve got the blueprint irons the S&T models which we reviewed um they’re sitting there as the better players performance clubs but tour players very low handicap of golfers um

You got the if5 30 was released uh the other week that’s been reviewed recently so the players performance iron the um the i230 uh released last year which is the sort of better Players Club but slightly more forgiving than the blueprint um the G4 30 which sits across

The wide range of golfers are pretty much everybody that can play that club nice and forgiving but still performs really well and then the now the g730 sitting at the top of the tree pitching at the uh most forgiving is what they’re saying so this is going to be the um one

That’s designed to help get the ball in the air help make the game as easy as possible and that’s got to be a good thing for most golfers to make it that little bit easier so looking at the club we have got uh the key sort of features

We’ve got the tungsten weights that we’ve seen in all of the um G Series clubs of recently so we’ve got the tungsten waight in the toe the one in the heel to help spread the um the waiting in the club this has got the widest sole on the bottom of the club so

It’s um specifically designed to get the ball up in the air we’ve got increased tungsten in there looking down on it it’s not it’s it’s it’s a thicker Top Line than some of their other ranges but it’s not a defensively thi this doesn’t look down so as I put that 7even IR down

You know you’re not seeing the sole of the club you’re not seeing the back of the club it’s he’s relatively clean looking but it is the biggest Club head that um in the ranger Club so with that in mind that’s specifically making the club more easy to hit so that’s you know

Um that’s he worth bearing that in mind um loft on this club is coming in at 28° so that’s actually stronger than the 530 which is 29 which we looked at last week um and with that in mind if you’re cranking the ls that far forward it just

Means that they’re going to put more weight lower in the head to help you get ball in the air um to and give you distance that way the they’re talking about the sort of sound damping shape and things like that so obviously urethane in there whatever it is to help

Control sound but this is a big Club head um so the best thing to do is test it and see how it performs so as always we’re going to be using Prov v1s uh hit five shots and then we’ll have a look at the numbers and see how the club

Performs okay so five shots hit and and let’s have a look before we um get into numbers and stuff like that so my sort of thoughts on the club extremely forgiving but park that we’re going to come back to that the um to look down on

Not too bad it’s a little bit bigger than um the other clubs in the range I think the one negative from it is the sound it’s extremely loud or or or quite a distinct sound now I think that where you’ve got the um kind of the cavity

There so you look down at the back of the club I don’t know how well you can see this but in here this section here the sound kind of seems to Echo around in this it’s it’s not um like when I was hitting the 530 uh last week that’s got

A nice sound to it this is sort of um it’s a very much a different type of sound so it’s something to bear in mind I think the 430 actually sounds better than this um so definitely I found that ever so slightly offputting but that’s

Just me from from a numbers point of you it’s um it’s really really good so like there looking at my shop now it’s worth saying that obviously I’m not the key demographic that this per this club is pitched at okay so with a 28° loft um

And a club that’s designed to get the ball up into the air is he going to be extremely easy to hit but they’re looking uh they’re the five shots best one total distance coming out there at 190 average total distance of 185 with an average carry of 169 it’s definitely

Longer than what I would expect to see from my own set of clubs but that’s because they’re not designed with the sort of flexy face that this has got to get the ball out there so you know makes it extremely um easy definitely easy to hit you know lower spin rates averaging at

4,500 um and that all coming off of an average speed of about uh average ball speed of 117 mph so yeah I mean it’s I’m not the person that this is pitched at but this is an extremely easy Golf Club to hit um so I think if you’re a person

That you know who struggles to get the ball in the air if you’re um looking for that little bit more distance something that makes the game a little bit more fun a little bit more enjoyable um and makes it a little bit easier for you then this is definitely worth a look be

Interesting to compare how it performs against the 430 because obviously price point these are going to be slightly more expensive um but yeah it’s an extremely extremely forgiving Club I’ve had this for a few days and I’ve hit it over um some different time and certainly when you hit hit bad shots

Like I mean really bad shots out the toe and out the heel and thin you still get an amazing amount of the distance is unbelievably forgiving um so it’s definitely worth something that if you’re in the market for a new set of clubs um you’re a person that’s looking

To make the game that little bit easier give them a try go and get yourself fitted and try them out but don’t forget while you’re here if you want to improve your game make sure that you check out that video

  1. For these types of clubs would it not be beneficial to have a mid/high handicap player hit the shots as you’ll hit anything well. 😊

  2. I agree when a pro hits this type of iron 220 yards thats my driver its always nice to see a high handicapper hit. Then give thier opinion, cheers.
