In this video, I test out the new Wilson Dynapower Forged irons for 2024. The D9 forged were some of my favourite that I tested in the past so it is one that I have been looking forward to. The Dynapower Forged are a smaller, more compact and softer feeling version to the normal Dynapower and classed as a players distance iron.

This I is one that I was looking forward to testing more than most others after how much I enjoyed the D9 Forge when I tried that one out a couple of years ago and the dino power Forge which is the latest one to come out is just a more

Compact and smaller version of the standard Dino Power iron for the type of iron that it is being a play as distance iron they do lean a bit more towards being a bit more forgiving and offering a bit more distance than other similar models in different brands we we take a

Look how the numbers look between the D9 Forge and the dino power Forge when hitting 10 shots with each one let’s just see how they compare so the main thing is that there is a slight increase in B speed which is always nice to see which did result in an extra four yards

Of distance for the dino power but that coming at a cost with just a fraction bit of spin lost and the dino power was also launching a bit higher and hitting a higher Peak height which meant it had a steeper descent angle so it was still

Stopping just as quick as the D9 forged anyway as both of these ions are aimed at being a bit more forgiving than anything it means that the feel and the Aesthetics isn’t really going to be a priority but the dino power do actually feel quite nice and they just feel

Really powerful coming off the face and really one of the main things that you want to look at as with anyon really is the dispersion coming off them and to be fair there is a massive Improvement in the dino power dispersion over the D9 Forge dispersion and it was just feeling

So much easier to control and just a lot easier to hit straight on the seven yards from side to side and the four yards from front to back on the dino power forged is I believe the second best dispersion that I’ve seen overall if we take a look at every iron that’s

In my S ion leaderboard so that goes to show really that they are very easy Iron to get on with and if we have a look at how they place in the leaderboard there wasn’t that much difference between these two but the dino power did just

Edge it even with quite a bit of a deer price tag to it in comparison to the D9 forged with overall good numbers all around on both they play pretty highly up the list with the dino power just finishing outside of the top 10 but you

Can see that the D9 last time I round and tested it is just a bit higher up so it is actually right up there with the top so they are really nice allr rounded club and they can do a bit of everything as I have mentioned a couple of times

Before already they do lean a bit more towards being forgiving and of course just adding a bit more distant while actually still looking quite nice behind the ball and in your back but anyway that is all for today so as usual thanks for watching and I’ll see you all in the next one

  1. I just picked up a set of brand new D9 Forged for $550. Since I am a low spin player, I bent the offset out of them by weakening the lofts and flattened the lie angle and these are the best irons I’ve owned coming from Mizuno and PXG. I also recently added the Dynapower Carbon driver and love it as well. Kudos to Wilson as I had never tried them before.

  2. Thanks Luke. Wilson DynaPwr Forged is definitely on my short list. Also looking to try the Ping i530, Cobra Forged Tec and Srixon ZX5 MKII. I currently play to an 11 handicap, and hit my 7-iron about 150-155 yards. But just turned 69 so, sadly, I'm starting to see a drop off in distance 😞
