Former Arsenal, Barcelona and French international footballer Thierry Henry discusses his infamous handball against Ireland in 2005. Henry deliberately touched the ball with his hand to set up a goal for France in a world cup qualifier in 2009. This goal ultimately sent France to the World Cup and eliminated Ireland, since then the Irish have abused Henry. #shorts #football #soccer #worldcup #france #ireland

Was I proud of it no I wasn’t proud of it it happened the rent BW the whistle I wasn’t proud of it I’m not still not proud of it but things happen in the game that’s what you do as a player sorry you have a you have that bad

Reaction that bad moment that you extend your arm I didn’t think about it they happen regardless of what happened it is what it is it’s something that happened in the game after with all the abuse that I got whether I deserve it or I didn’t deserve it it’s still something

That happened on the football pitch I to take it I took it was I proud of it no because because this is not the type of player I am but you can’t when you have an an a bad Instinct the reaction is difficult to explain I can’t explain it because it happens

  1. People complain about VAR. THIS is the type of stuff it's made for. Cuz ain't no way a pro player saying: ,,Ye ref i handballed it" at that moment when your entire country is counting on you to deliver.

  2. Two things about it: 1) it’s not like Henry was the first to ever do an intentional handball (remember Messi in the last WC?) and 2) it’s not like Ireland was about to qualify. It was 0-1, which means game was going to overtime so who knows what could have happened.

  3. You can do what Henry did. Or you can do what MIROSLAV KLOSE😎 did agaisnt lazio. You can earn the love of your contrymen or the love and respect of all the world

  4. Rant incoming

He said a whole lot of nothing… He effectively said the exact same thing 4 times, it's not the fact of the handball, Irish fans and football fans understand anything can happen in a game. It's the fact it was in the dying moments of the game and it was because of that handball Ireland didn't progress. We didn't lose fairly we were cheated out of our rightful place. You can keep saying "was I proud of it, no" it still doesn't negate the fact it happened and your sense of sportsmanship wasn't there after it. If he truly wasn't proud of it and he was sorry etc then he would've let the ref know like we've seen from many big players around that time as well.

  5. If you barely qualified your country via an illegal goal and the red didn't blow the whistle, would you inform him and let your country not go the world cup?

  6. Similar to draymond green in basketball, that’s why i don't get as upset as the world gets w him about it.

  7. Many years later he is remorseful. At the time, he was cheeky as hell about it. Maradona was the only player ever allowed to break the rules like this because his was the hand of God.

  8. I’ve caught a ball in a tournament one time with my left hand and just held it in such confusion of what I had just done. Staring at it in my hand in front of our own goal. So I get what he’s saying to have just a bad instinct at the wrong time and you can’t explain it. Had a little less pressure on me, I’ll say. Lol But still. I get it.

  9. Henry’s looked like his mind blanked and his body reacted. Maradona’s looked premeditated. Lol

  10. Henry, first of all you don’t have to explain yourself. You want to win you do anything to win for the shirt you love. Secondly, fuck arsenal. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

  11. Yes theirry Henry..was a great player and is a better person…

Great comment about that handball ..😊

  12. I don’t get why folk are so mad at any French player Henry included. Not their fault the ref and linesman were paid off by fifa. It’s just how it goes

  13. This reminds me of that Lampard goal, i think it was against Germany, where he hits the bar, ball bounces behind the line and it's a clear goal, bounces back out and the game continues. Pure beautiful footballing robbery

  14. yeah i feel like the iron giant could be linked to the ancient kingdom, like maybe there were a ton of them, either as guards or just it was a fantastical place, with creatures like Zunesha and iron giants, even fishmen, merfolk, minks, tontotta, lunarians, giants maybe, sea kings, and humans walking around and Nika being all toon worldy and devil fruits everywhere, and the imaginations of people running wild but in a fun way

almost like long ring long land, and a good version of sugar’s toys running around dressrosa and more

like a true neutral city / kingdom, like a good version of what big mom was trying to create, or maybe a good combination of what all of the yonko were trying to create,, a kingdom of every race, a place of freedom and fun, a family.
and that’s why we seem to find those with the Will of D in every race, and or ones being linked to joy boy or the void century.
It doesn’t mean that every member of every race was in the kingdom and that they split off later, but no, they came together in this kingdom, while others/most of their races stayed at their homeland, like elbaf for the giants.

  15. i feel like Pluton, and every ancient weapon, could be sentient living creatures. and the Pluton blueprints were a battleship that really was an exact replica of the ancient weapon Pluton, but this was mechanical and could be controlled by a pilot or bunch of operators.

whereas Nika doesn’t “control,” but people and creatures work for or with him cuz he befriends them.

  16. If VAR was around then

"And now we go to VAR…and the goal stands! Oh there is going to be some controversy:
