So I see golfers all the time in the driving range doing this kind of action and they’re trying to square the club up they’re trying to release the club and they think this is right this is how I’m going to stop my slice this is how I’m

Going to square that club face up and they say well the hands have to work the hands have to you know create my speed that’s where I generate all my power from they’re not wrong but they’re doing it the wrong way it’s pretty obvious that the body

Isn’t the biggest source of speed at impact the body is slowing down and the body can’t move as fast as the hands the outer object we have is always moving fastest think of anything you know think about spinning an object on a bit of string with a weight on the end the

Weight is obviously going to be moving faster that’s obvious what we don’t want is the body stopping too quickly and the hands overtaking the body that becomes kind of golf suicide in terms of contact and in terms of how we deliver that club you think what kind of shot we’re going

To hit if we deliver the club like this now that face is pointed up and left obviously if you have a slice pointing the club face left will help you shortterm pointing the face up will increase Back Spin which will reduce side spin so you might think okay also

That’s pretty groovy initially but it’s a very weak shot you know you might think how that guy that you play with that’s much smaller than you not as strong as you maybe older than you can hit the golf ball further than you cuz he’s getting that pressure and that Club

Del lofted the contact so in essence what I want to talk about today is how we release the golf club correctly we want that club face to be squaring up with sharling with pressure with the right arm kind of turning down onto the golf ball to squeeze that ball

Out as opposed to the right arm straightening too early and the sharp pointing back and adding loads of Loft this tool is a great way of showing you what the club Dynamics are going to be so this is just a rod basically le as part of a teaching a but it’s taped onto

A shaft and by all means get a TEEG and tape it onto a shaft to have a look at how you would do this so the poor example would be kind of like this and you’ll see this how this points up to the sky the good example I’ll do it

Split handed and we’ll show you this drill in a minute we’ll be like this you’ll see how this is square okay so the club face being open would be like this so this is square and this is pointing more down towards the ground so what we’re trying to do is

Kind of compress that golf ball in this strongest sense we can if you take a split grip so hold the the lead hand at the top of the grip and the trail hand just on the metal just below the grip and we get that club down into what we

Would call a delivery position now from here think about how we square that club up now the poor golfers what we’re talking about earlier will kind of do this the good players would move the arms forward we rotate the arms and wrists and shift that pressure and

Rotate the body all at the same time and that gets us into a very very Dynamic impact position without trying so releasing the club the correct way is key now obviously if the club faces wide open as we come down we’re going to have to work extremely hard to

Square that club face up and nearly always there’ll be some scooping involved to in order to create that squaring effect so we need the club face to be again if we’re using this as our guide that needs to be pointing down to the ground points more towards the golf

Ball the wrists rotate and it points again down the Left Post impact on that kind of circle so the split grip for me really starts to get you to feel the independent movement that the arm and wrist are going to make the arm is going to be super

Nating the wrist is rotating you see my logo my glove here is working more towards my golf bag there my thumb is rotating my trail arm is doing exactly the same but obviously opposite mechanics this is pronating the trail wrist is rotating but I’m still keeping that trail wrist extended keeping the

Trail wrist extended and keeping the arm with some Bend in it not a lot of Bend but some Bend in it is key to really natural Dynamic movement through the golf ball so we’re getting rid of the flippy action the throwing action and we’re trying to throw the golf club more past

The ball once the club gets into this position then the wrist will extend and the club Works more this way and we kind of call this kind of the Frisbee action so the hand will collapse the club head does overtake the hands but not until we

Get to a position around about here most golers I would see let’s say five handicap and above the club will be thrown away at around contact or before contact if they’re a worst ball Striker again that might be for a few reasons like swing plane and Club fa as

We’ve already discussed and grip and so on and setup but really what we’re talking about is the concept of trying to feel this release through the golf ball so making a few swings can I release it this way taking your normal Golf Club then and even if you did it in

A small swing initially can I release the golf club more that way now that ballf flight and I’ll try and show it to you p rating low tiny bit of draw so if you want to draw the ball that is perfect if I wanted not to draw the ball

I would have to move my body probably a little bit more to match up the Tim with that club face cuz the release felt pretty good most of us me included would like to see a tiny draw on the ball so that would be great for me so what I’d

Advise is you do you do maybe five or 10 small shots at that and then build that up into a full swing but maybe even on the golf course this will be the rehearsal and then you go ahead and hit a golf ball naturally and again that one a beautiful little

Draw really well struck nice divot after the golf ball couldn’t ask more than that if I was going to step on the golf course and play right now all I’d be looking to do would be a nice little half practice swing step up the ball with a very simple concept of let my

Arms release the right way and be committed through the shot and through the impact to play better golf please make sure you like And subscribe and check out the rest of my videos and hope to see you back here real soon
