The one thing none of you have brought up was SO obvious in both Greenbay games. LeFlower knows all of Getsys weaknesses in coaching & playcalling. He took full advantage of Gestys playcalling tendencies. I rewatched the game & it looked like the d-line knew where to go before the o-lineman could get to their spots, Based on play design.
A big part of the reason Fields wasn't ready to start was because Nagy gave him zero first team reps to be ready. So when Dalton went down, its absolutely true Fields wasn't ready, because he was never given the opportunity to be ready

As a Packer fan, I am very Relieved that they are keeping Eberflus and Fields, and scapegoating Getsy. The thought of the Bears getting Harbaugh, and first pick QB had me worried. We could not beat Harbaughs 49ers teams. Even Harbaugh with Fields was a little scary.
They're keeping Flus for 2 very important reasons. 1st is the defense has made great progress in its 2nd year under Flus. The defense started bad, yet the players never quit and came together. They did it with couple veterans, some second and 3rd year players and rookies. 2nd which is the most important and the one thing everyone is over looking, the locker room vibe as well as the players love him and willing to give their all for each other. Flus instilled that in them… when u get your best defensive guy saying he loves the locker room, his new coach and wish the season didnt end because he feels something special with this team is coming! I dont know if any of you commentators ever played sports at a high level, but the locker room vibe and players coach relationships are super important. Sure you can bring in a new head coach right now, but if the players aren't feeling him because they missing the coach They've put their trust in has been fired. It wouldn't have anything to do with the new coach but the players might start looking at the Upstairs brass as unloyal, which would make it harder and take it alot longer for the players to buy in to his coaching ways… now your back to square one and it would take a year or 2 to get the looker room back. Plus the players thats there know Flus picked them and some players might feel a little insecurity with the new coach who didnt pick them

How about trade the #1 and trade Justin for a lot of draft pick assets. Then draft MHJ, offensive lineman, defensive lineman, draft a QB in the latter rounds, and try sign Kirk Cousins to QB the Bears for two years until you have a line to protect a pocket passer and run a system that caters to that kind of QB. Meanwhile, your Defense grows. Heck probably by 2025, the Bears will be really good enough that our QB in development is ready to take over.

You can't tear a team down to the studs and expect roaring success the next year. Fields deserves another year.
Bradshaw (whom the Bears lost to the Steelers on a coin flip) sucked his first 4 years, not 3. TD/INT ratio his 1st 4 years was 31/58! He AVERAGED only 1,600 yards passing in 4 years. He was sacked 91 TIMES. Completion % was 47.4% for those 4 years. In the meantime the Steelers were busy drafting talent around Bradshaw. Result: the Steel Curtain Dynasty of the 70's. Fields is already way ahead of those stats. AND he's tough as crap. Not many QBs can take a punch like this guy.
Bears love Flus and Fields both. It takes time to build a team and the '24 draft is a prime opportunity to add a crapload of talent around Fields. Don't forget that the Bears went to the '06 SB with REX GROSSMAN as QB. Both Fields and Flus have earned at least one more year. Kap and J Hood got their heads up their butts a little on this IMO. Cool your heels, boys, and if things aren't vastly better next year, then use that #1 pick Poles will steal from whomever to draft a new QB. Bears are going all the way in '25. Mark my words.
