Hello there everyone and welcome back to the channel for once I am not inside in the performance center at Howley Hall I am here at Kinder delago Resort in the alav we’re at the Paul McGinley performance center here on the Range and we’ve got two brand new models of
Odyssey Putter to look at so this is a model um that was very very popular through last season you almost couldn’t get hold of one anywhere even secondhand ones were out of stock on eBay everyone was putting them up for silly money and people were buying them so we got the
Jailbird and jailbird Mini so they became very popular because Ricky Fowler and Windam Clark uh won with them um sort of Midway through last season Windam Clark obviously with the US Open so Odyssey brought this model back into the line and obviously with the ai1 series of Putters that came out at the
End of last year didn’t come out with them but now has that technology in here so for those of you that don’t know you can check out the reviews we’ve already done of ai1 we were over in Texas last year for the uh Global launch there
Where we got fitted we tried all the different models we’ve done a standalone review you can check out on the channel not only have we looked at the different models obviously available in ai1 and ai1 mil but we’ve also looked at um my stroke as well you’ve kind of and and
That’s the mix that we want isn’t it we’re not just looking at like you’ve said throughout the fitting we’re not just going for whichever head shape we like and which one we kind of put nicely with we’re looking at well if we do this with that technique kind it make us
Better as well yeah I think this this model marries into where it helps your Technique and then we saw just a little a little tweak to help you in your release P um and getting back to when we tried M down A1 you immediately said you
Much prefer the feel of this and the sound but at that time this one wasn’t available so we have the ai1 cruiser in jailbird and the um crank huzzle in jailbird mini to have a bit of a look at the ai1 face in these two is the white
Heart version of the inserts it’s going to feel that little bit softer we’ve obviously got the little window through into the sole there where we can see the face technology where we have the thicker and thinner Parts where Odyssey and Callaway have used AI to design
These Putters so that when we don’t hit them out the middle of the face we still get very similar ball speed and roll out to when we do strike them well so we’re going to hit some puts on the green here going to have a bit of a comparison
Between the two I’ve not used one of these Cruiser length Putters before so it’d be good to put that through its paces and have a bit of a look then we’ve also got 35 in long in the crank huzzle in the gel bird mini so let’s hit
Some puts and then we’ll come back and have a bit of a chat about how they perform so we’re going to start with the uh jailbird AI Cruiser so this is obviously the bigger head slightly longer at 38 Ines long as well we’ve got this big chunky Cruiser grip on it uh
The stroke lab 140 shaft are a little bit heavier in this one so it’s kind of count of balance in the way that the the um the putter works it’s like I say it’s not a putter length that I’ve used before so it feels a bit uncomfortable and a little bit unconventional I
Suppose but I really really like how stable all the head is the the feel off the face is very good as well it’s nice and solid um which I quite like I’m just struggling a little bit with kind of getting the the putter online it just
Feels a little bit all over the place for me but for those of you that are used to these types of models of putter or maybe someone who is going to maybe arm lock it or potentially um because there is an arm lock version of of some
Of these Putters coming out as well but the cruiser model really is is aimed at that person who wants that bit of counterbalance and wants that bit of mass above the hands to help keep the face nice and square and to hopefully give you that little bit more stability
Through the puton I certainly I’m not put off by the head size it’s bigger than a lot of Putters that I’ve used over the last few years but like I say I’m not put off by and it doesn’t feel bad for me I really like the the feel of
That white hot insert is very very good as well and very familiar and those of you that have Odyssey white hot Putters and odyssey being the most popular putter out there um will absolutely love it as well well you know the the sort of bigger footprint more stable head design
Is something that massively appeals to me and also the addition of the AI technology in the face is really really good too so like I say this Cruiser model isn’t going to be for everyone but maybe if you’re struggling with your putting and and you want that bit more
Counterbalance above your hands this could be the model for you when we move on to the jailbird mini we see the 90 um stroke lab shaft in there now and again 35 in Long crank huzzle something I’m a little bit more used to the Head side is
Obviously a little smaller as well um being the jailbird mini but again it sits really nicely behind the ball kind of fills you with confidence and we get that nice feel off the face that we got with the uh standard jailbird as well so we get that kind of soft uh White Hot
Feel to it so for me this kind of length and this sort of head design kind of Suits my eye and feels a little bit nicer and it’s something that I feel like I could get used to a little bit more the cruiser for me just feels a bit big and
A bit cumbersome in places really I feel like I can get the distance right a little bit better with this too I like the crank huzzle and the fact that I can feel like I can release it a bit more obviously we’ve got a double Bend shaft
There in the um in the standard jail bird in in the cruiser there so it does feel a little bit different I really really like the the white hot feel on the face as I’ve already said but it just feels that bit more solid I I think
In this jailbird mini for me I don’t know whether it’s the thinner grip or whether it’s just that it’s a bit shorter and kind of a little bit more familiar I’m not really sure but going to have a few more puts with it on the
Green and then we’ll do a little bit of a wrap up at the end so overall when testing both of these jailbird models I definitely found more consistency when trying the jailbird mini in this kind of more conventional kind of look I found the cruiser just to
Be a bit cumbersome and it felt a bit heavy and a bit big and I was really struggling to get it online particularly short puts I really really struggled with it to be honest I I just couldn’t get it online uh the jailbird mini just seemed to set up that a little bit
Better I quite like like I said with that Crank huzzle that you’ve got a bit more kind of flow in the stroke with it that way was able to get them online a little bit more but there are players out there that the ai1 jailbird Cruiser will suit very very well and
Particularly if you struggle uh and a bit Twitchy overp put maybe this kind of longer um more counterbalance design might be a little bit better for you but the jailbird design is one that really helps with the alignment obvious we’ve got the addition of the AI 1 face in
There that’s going to make it feel nice and soft and there’s lots of other Putters available in this line so from the ones that we saw when we were in Texas so the more conventional kind of looking ones on number seven which I’ve tried a hell of a lot and you’ve seen it

Hit them both extensively the other day at Dick's……the Jailbird mini with the double bend shaft was head over heels the better putter than the Cruiser…….so I bought it.
