Two but regardless he got the Finish like he said that man is an absolute Legend one of the great feates the sport has ever seen

  1. Man… I'm a huge Islam Makhachev fan and wanted Islam to win when he was going up against Volk both times…But oddly, Volk has grown on me and has made me a fan of his also. Like you truly care about Volk because 1 he is legit a good guy with a good heart and 2 he is a fu*king absolute legend and 1 of the best featherweight champions if not the BEST…He was Pound for Pound #1 and has fought and beat almost every style out there…Volk is a professional inside and outside the cage…Gained his whole fan base strictly off of hard work, his skills and consistently winning proving everyone wrong…… Which is why seeing Volk this way and him saying what happened, freaking actually hurts me as a fan…I don't think Volk is done yet and he still has a few more fights in him, I just really hope his team, Drs, family, and close ones tell him ok Volk that's it you're taking a minimum 1 Year off. The UFC should guarantee Volk that when he is ready to come back whether it's 6 months from now or 1 year from now, A title fight will be waiting for him no matter who is CHAMP. Love you Volk and keep your head up, you are a future Hall of Famer and a Legend!!!!

  2. The thing is, in this sport you retire soon enough while being the goat or you'll get drowned eventually. Look what happened with Silva, Tony… Khabib and GSP were the smartest ones following that idea. They are humans too, age and time doesn't forgive anyone

  3. Fighters 35+ will continue to lose to 27+ beast fighters. Time is undefeated.

  4. We can't pretend volk was 100% after getting head kicked at 155 a short time ago.

  5. Nobody seems to notice what Volk is saying. "What was the set-up?" He didn't need to ask what shot it was — he trained the entire camp to not get hit with the right-hand, he wanted to know how Ilia set him up for the shot.

  6. Just imagining being volk waking up and coming to and seeing topuria on the big screen celebrating and then it shows your own face trying to make sense of what is going on is eeriee

  7. The indight adjustment by Illia was Volks undoing. In the first round, Topuria maintained the centre of the octagon for most of the fight, throwing onesies and two punch combinations, but Volk was slipping out of most with his movement.
In the second round, Illia pushed Volk closer to the cage so he wouldn't have much space to stay elusive, then he threw about 4 punches, and the fourth one landed. Thats was a great watch, I'm sad for Volk, doesn't taint his greatness in my eyes but I'm also happy for El Matador.

  8. Volk is too humble and self reflecting to fall very far from this. He’ll be right back up there. Don’t lie to yourselves like this man and you’ll be like him.

  9. I think volk actually beats illa just when you get headkicked ko by a guy as big as Islam you have to take your time before getting back in there he was just knocked out 4 months ago there was no reason to rush back.

Probably was getting cracked in training also and never gave himself anytime to heal.

Hopefully he doesn’t fight again till next year his body needs it

  10. Volk’s head coach is feeding him wrong info. Literally everyone was saying to take some time off after Islam’s KO. It’s just pure biology. And then if you add the age and the mental state, what is the reason to take this? He already renewed a new contract. There was absolutely zero reason to take this. He needs less yes men around him.

One more thing, the fact he kept saying a puncher’s chance and the way he kept moving away during the fight you could see how it got to him. I really hope he takes time off like Izzy and bounces back on top.

  11. The finish didn’t surprise me one bit. Even though Volk is a beast, I knew Ilia was going to take it by KO, in the first or second round, maybe third

  12. Illia vs Max is the next Gaethje vs Tony. Max is a legend but he's been around for quite a couple of years and he won't be able to keep up with a young champion like Ilia. He will take too much damage he won't be able to recover from. It's Ilia's reign now.

  13. He didn’t recover from that career changing head kick by Islam he should’ve taken time off 🤦‍♂️

  14. Volk shpuld have tried setting up takedowns. It was clear after first 2 mins of rd1 that Volk couldn't kickbox agsinst Ilia. During whole fight, Volk was running away, collecting points, feeling Ilia's punches while Ilia spent the whole time hunting for a KO. Volk had always been someone who would have managed to create perfect tactics but now that was not the case at all.
