You could well be ignoring the most underrated irons of 2024 if we bought golf clubs based on how many Mages have been warn using one particular brand then all roads would lead us to Wilson in 2019 at the US Open Gary Woodland made it major win number 62 using Wilson

Staff model blades so the question is what makes Wilson iron so special and is the new 2024 Lon up majorly different right while we get the camera set up for the first shot of the day before we go any further I can’t ignore just a how good these things look so no matter

Which model you’re going for I’d be drawn to that sort of shiny staff model it looks incredible but even right the other end game improvement style bulky yeah it’s got a bit of mass but as an athetic any of these three models we’re going to look at today look superb

Oh that’s three shots hit each of the three different irons I can already feel and see the difference and I’ll explain that very soon also essentially the first uh feelings are that the forged iron field superb uh the mid iron which is the forge Dino Power felt exceptional

And the dino power which is the game improvement iron felt as you’d expect but it really good but it was a lot more sort of just a bit more clumb some overall I don’t know whe that’s a feel thing a mentality thing or whatever but each of the irons have done what I

Expected them to do in terms of distance and ball flights as well the week are lofted the staff model po the ball up really high you can definitely see the power and zip in the dino power and the one the middle sit somewhere in between so we’ve learned nothing Yet that’s so good you know that’s so good for uh I just l tree purely based on the width of so I would class that as a game improvement iron that doesn’t mean anything necessarily it is what it is but just on the sort of shaping of it that’s what it suggest but

It’s got such a good amount of feel and I was able to just shape that a little bit as well you know what I that’s the fourth shot I’ve hit and I’m already super impressed wow either I’m hitting the ball good or uh or these clubs are some

Else that’s the four d I have to keep on looking down to make sure I don’t make a mistake again so impressed by that one last one the staff model if I can do anything similar to those two with this then uh I’m really off to an absolute flyer with with these

Things right same again we’ll be aiming for a little bit of draw you’ll notice as well which is nice oh look at that wow I mean I’ve just literally overcooked them both the last two as in they’ve moved just a little bit if I look at the

Flag the wind is coming off the right and the curvature on that ball flight is just taken they’ll miss the green to the left but everything about them Super Ball flight they just look like they’re doing exactly what you’d expect or what you’d hope them to do today’s video is sponsored by our

Friends at Hot golf the online golf retailer for all major brands and if you want new golf gear then please support us by supporting Them yeah I started off this review and I’m being so so positive and because of the way reviews are kind of interpreted you’re almost like already I’m thinking right can I find some negative in these things because otherwise you know there’s just too much positivity on the

Channel it’s a weird way to have to go and do reviews but generally I you know I’m I’m just drawn to a situation where I cannot believe how good these are so that’s what I’m going to say I’m just going to uh tell tell you how it is and

I’m not going to look for negative things they might creep up as we carry on playing but right now just six shots in I uh well just like I said I can’t believe how good each of them are you know what the real star of the show is

This Dino Power forg it’s the one that I keep saying sits in the middle but for me it’s a combination between small and compact very much a players like I it’s got that forged feel but it’s like an absolute rocket off it at the same time

As well we’ll talk about dry ball data a bit later on at the very end but thing is out the three it stands out a mile for me personally and everything I look for in an iron well the final three shot you’re going to see me player in uh

Absolute pure slow-mo Brilliance a wonky swing that produces a real interesting ball flight with three of these clubs the reason in slow-mo is for you to get a better idea of the ball Flight of the three now the interesting bit for me I didn’t hit the bulky Club as well it’s a

Lower ball flight uh unnaturally lower compared to everything else I’ve hit today so not the perfect example when you see the next two you will clearly see just how much of a higher ball flight they are um and there’s clearly a difference we did record some dry ball

Data the spin numbers are exactly where you’d expect them to be in the sense that a little bit on the lower side on the game improvement IR as I’m going to call it not to a level that would concern me at all then you’ve got that sort of high spinning staff model model

Again really impressive and for that better player and then you got the one that sits in the middle which is that Dino Power Forge which every kind of number that I’d be looking for was hit so it’s a balance between for me a launch angle a descent angle a spin

Number and then the overall carry what am I getting from it and all those combined were phenomenal numbers with the um with the the dino power Forge it’s always a trouble with looking at three clubs in one review it’s just remembering the name of them all and I’m

Not going to go into Mega detail on trackman cuz I don’t feel it’s needed I’ve seen out here the differences which is where I like to see it and properly understand it so I’m not going to go any further I’m going to leave the review as simple and as straightforward as that my

Encourse experience some visuals for you to take on board just how good these things look and immediate on course reaction like I’ve said these are really really good and I was going to say at their price points you’d be hard pressed to find any better competing iron in each

Of the categories these but the price points are relevant these are still very very good irons no matter what you put them up against so super impressed with the Wilson lineup this year and if you’re going to consider buying a new set of irons then you must try one of

These three depending on what you’re looking for cuz I’ve got a feeling you’ll find the answer in one of them right that’s me done over it short and sweet thank you for watching don’t forget comments down below hit that Thumbs Up Button all those things don’t forget to subscribe we still need your

Support and uh I’ll see you all Soon oh Yeah

  1. I traded in a bunch of clubs not being used and after trying numerous brands, chose the DynaPower with the UST Dart graphite shafts. I was very impressed with their performance and looking forward to using them.

  2. Seriously under rated and very pretty irons. Wilson make great irons at a very reasonable price. Given I play i210s, the Staff CB iron would be my choice – IMO up there with the likes of Blueprint S, Miz 243 as some of the best looking irons of 2024 for me.

As for spin numbers, something people get very excited about, the Forged is only 1 degree weaker than my 6i but spins about the same and I seem to recall Andy is or has been a relatively lower spin player. That plus the peak height is plenty to stop the ball when it lands – although in the current conditions even with the driver my ball stops where it lands (golf on mud island, when will it end)

  3. Actual shots on the course, not hit by a tour golfer, lend large credibility to your review. Thank you, Andy.

  4. Replaced an old set of Mizunos last year. Tried various 'mid-handicap' clubs and almost went for PING G430s but finally bought Wilson D9 forged. Fantastic clubs, distance and feel are spot on. Good for you giving Wilson irons a shot – massively underrated clubs,

  5. Perfect timing, Andy! Tried out the Dynapower Forged at the weekend and agree with everything you said. Great feel, good height and decent angle for my swing speed with sensible distance. I’m going back for another tryout this week. Looks promising for this seasons WITB.

  6. Had a set of the X-31 I believe they were called – superb – combo set with a Nippon Modus 105S perfect they look stunning👍

  7. Hi Andy – I play the d9 forged which look and feel amazing –
Also have the dynapower driver and staff model putter ! Love the brand

  8. I almost went with Wilson, but couldn't find the clubhead/shaft combo I wanted in left handed. I went with the Titleist T200…maybe next year for Wilson…

  9. Dynapower forged are today's equivalent of the old Callaway Diablo Forged. Soft feel bullets

  10. I used to be a Wilson player and must admit I played the best golf of my life with them. Don’t know why I went away from them. Thanks for sharing this video. I liked what I saw. Might be time to go back to Wilson

  11. Wilson make great clubs at great prices, but the downside is not many stockists and difficult to get a decent fitting also limited shafts.
They need to ramp up their marketing and stockists if they want to take on the big boys.

  12. Not sure if I missed it, but which shafts were you playing?
I am super keen on getting myself some Wilsons and it's great to see someone with a relatable swing speed giving them a go on course.

  13. I have to admit that I haven't considered Wilson in the past. Sounds like I need to start.

  14. Played a set of the dynapwr clubs while in Florida in Jan. They were a rental set and the driver was the titanium version. Theu impressed me but the gi irons do put me off looks wise but that forged version looks sweet. The driver left a lasting impression on me…….🤔😏😯

  15. I had a set of Wilson irons years ago but I moved on to Mizuno as Wilson seemed to lose its way a bit.
More recent Wilsons look spot on, with shelf appeal and performance as well.
    Nice work Andy.

  16. Good video again. Heard a lot of positive reviews of these irons and now will be testing them on course soon,. Appreciate this

  17. Those are really beautiful! I love Wilson clubs. I collect vintage clubs and I have two sets of Wilson iron sets. I have Wilson Pro Staff irons with cavity backs and graphite shafts and an older set of Wilson Sam Snead Blue Ridge irons with steel shafts that are blades. Both sets are really fun to play with.

  18. Well done Andy, Wilson are class. I really wish people would understand what bladed Staff irons offer, high spin, consistency of distance and easy turf interaction. Every golfer should play blades down to a loft where their speed requires launch assistance. Too many people using hollow clubs unnecessarily in my opinion.

  19. Hello Andy, the new Wilson staff line 2024 is a true revelation. I recently tested the MB, CB and forged Dynapower. I opted for the MB, which in in my bag for 2024. Too bad, you did not review this one in the video. The Wilson staff line is as good if not better than many other brands and cheaper (in particular comparing with Ping). The other advantage is that like Mizuno, Wilson staff offers a good list of stock options for shafts, including graphites.

  20. Great to see Wilson getting some of the love they deserve. Pound-for-pound they would have to be THE best value, high-performing irons available. Admittadly, I am somewhat biased, in that they are my new clubs this year. I currently bag a 5i and 6i in the Forged Dynapwr's predecessor – the D9 Forged, and I'm just waiting on the blade/CB combo set (GW – 7i) to be delivered (hopefully this week). The Forged Dynapwr would surprise a lot of people with just how compact it is, and the feel is as good as any other brand's forged offering. It is worth mentioning And, that the Forged Dynapwr and CB have different lofts, with the CB @34* and the Dynapwr @32*. The CB combos beautifully with the blades in the short/mid part of the bag as they have the same lofts. And aren't they a thing of beauty? I found the stronger lofts in the D9 Forged (Dynapwr) also combo well with the CBs because I need a little more help to maintain good gapping into the 5i.
Thanks for the on-course review. I never get tired of seeing these clubs 😁
P.S. you should give the blade a go. You'll be surprised at how 'easy' it is to hit. Yes, a really poor strike will lose you a chunk of distance (10-12 yards, in my case), but a slight mishit is only a minor loss (2 yards). As a 9 hc, I'm happy to get my 7i within 20 ft of my intended target, so a few extra feet on a miss hit is OK with me.
