Break 100 is Back (for now at least). Finally back on the course and hopefully the start of the season if the weather holds up. Today is the start of my challenge to finally break the hundred and i also compare the CALLAWAY CHROMESOFT XLS and Titleist AVX golf balls. Can i see a difference between them? Hello hello welcome back to the channel guys um just a quick message before today’s video um I know it’s a little bit late um that’s mainly because I’ve struggled to stay awake while I’ve been putting it together but it’s on the it’s on finally um just to let you know

Obviously a lot of people knew that I was in for surgery this week which has finally happened my trap nerve in my elbow hopefully um it’ll help with a bit of feeling in my hand in a few weeks time we’ll see how that goes so thank you for

Recorded before the surgery um so um for anyone asking the surgery hadn’t happened in the next few weeks videos um I managed to get them out there get them all put get them all filmed before I went in for this so there was something to put on the channel so there’ be no

Gaps um hopefully Mark will get out there when it’s not raining because it seems to be raining on all of his days off um it’s absolutely choking it down out there now um but yeah I’ve got a few episodes recorded which will be on over

The next few weeks to fill in the Gap while I uh recover hopefully recovery time won’t be as long as expected I might be back by the end of these three videos that go out so you never know I’m not going to rush into it but um really looking

On with the video hello hello welcome back it is freezing it is absolutely freezing but it’s not raining so I’m out to you again back at Norry Hall there is actually 16 holes open today so I’m only going to need to play a couple twice because today’s another break

Hundred and today’s balls are chosen by Dana and Jean so thanks to Dana and Jean hello and it is the tightest I’m get in there tightest AVX against the Callaway chrom soft XLS so looking forward to today a couple of top balls to try today so welcome back to the channel

Anyway um it’s lovely to be out here like I say it is rather cold slippery muddy but it’s just nice to get out of here again and I just want to thank all you guys for watching liking subscribing and if you haven’t done so already please do so dingling

Absolutely been terrible the cses are getting battered um since I last played the car did closed for a few days again because of all the rain but like I say we’re back to 16 holes again um a little bit muddy but we’re going to give it a go

Last week 98 for the first time out of the year that’s not bad that’s struggled all year last year so we’re going to try it again with the two balls that Dana and Jean picked and we’re going to see how we go um so drop some comments below let me

Know what you think um let me know what balls you want me to try out in in another episode and um I’ll give him a go because I’ve got a big collection that I want to get through so are we ready I’m rather stiff with the cold but

Right so I’ve got a shot it needs to stay low though so I’m going to try and punch a five iron up there see what happens that’s a stiff swing hopefully I’ll loosen up as I get warmed hopefully it is cold all right got 112 yards to a front

Pin going with a 50° the mcdaddy come on it’s cold is that enough no it was a slap so yeah it’s a bit wetter than last time we got a few more holes to play today though at least but that is a bit sticky right um still a little bit short

Unfortunately got the trusty 8 iron see if I can knock it up there I like to F this ball though that’s too much ah oh well I’m on the green right I need to make the most of the putting on the um proper greens today to make up for some of these

Temporaries I really like this feel of this AVX it’s got a really meaty feel to it bit more time on the green reading downhill right to left moove off see how fast this is not as fast as I thought oh well whoa wow that just shot across to the left

Oh well not a great start but it’s rather cold it’ll do first hole out the way try and count it down a bit now on to the next one so second hole open today temporary green and going into and a left to right wind I’m going to go with a 50°

Again come on loosen up that was a bit thin I’ve gone in one of the bunkers which is um a free drop out of there because they’re out of use bit too far that one bit thin all right so it’s a free drop out of this area this is

All new so anywhere in the line it came back there we go that’ll do so once again temper green it’s a bit bobbly this one so if I can get this close I’ll go with the Gimme hey tyan well third shot going with a putter I still not close enough

That as you can see the conditions aren’t brilliant but it’s nice being out here even though it is cold all right number four right home breathe breath that’s a five there so um not a brilliant start but it’s hard to get warmed up in these conditions it is freezing and a bit

Scouty all right third two with the Wind and the AVX 6 aing again see how this goes trying to loosen up a bit that could be good that might be a little bit too far actually was a little bit thin I do like the feel of the avxl it’s got right

Meaty feel to it but it’s still soft at the same time that might be a bit too far we’ll see J I’ve come a little bit too far that wind must have brought it a bit so we’re With the Wind again pin to the right just behind these

Trees 160 yards I’m going to go with a nine it should get over the trees and um hopefully get on there it’s not sat too bad I think it’s a nine good job that should be good go on that’s on The Middle lovely middle of the grein I’m happy with that shot from

There I take that all day I don’t know where it landed I think it just dropped short and rolled up could have been there really soft this green yeah go I’m make the most of these now left to right slight up and down go Oh no you’re joking ah

No somebody landed there it wasn’t me well that was a bad swing that five that’s disappointing but still early early days The shirt I’ve gotten today matches the conditions it is ice cold with a strong wind so we’re on the f t a strong right to left wind and it’s the first time with the big stick on the AVX so if this goes right the wind should bring it

Back I’m going to try and keep it straight try anyway see how this feels off the big Stick nice and low Ah that’s in that left bunker H that stayed low it’s it feels good though got a grunt to this ball really but it still feels soft really like it yeah it’s on the front it’s on an UPS slope though so that might help it got

105 yards to the temporary green just got The Sand Wedge sand is a little bit hard should be okay that’s come out nice maybe too much little bit thin that has plugged this is the bunker that was full of water last week um that’s not good that is buried I

Don’t know if you can see it in there so I’m going to have to play this somehow this is awkward yeah oh well look like a day for bunkers that is like mud a great today’s not going well at all so far just got to stay positive that’s the motto this year

Positive Vibes only got my sand wedge here that took a strange bounce all right putter just so hard to read today soft squidgy bumpy joking me no well we keep going Chrome soft then it will make it even at the end we going to have to skip some holes big stick bit

Toey that’s between the bunker and the trees on the left bit toy that one I got 180 yards I’ve got a six iron should clear these trees that feels so hard I think that might just be in the right side bunker um it feels good off the driver but it

Just feels hard off the irons bit strange that one right so I’m just in the bunker fairly soft this one now come on get it out it’s out I guess hey tyan just a little tappy onto there come on go in for me yeah I’ll take

That I know it’s close but I’ll line it up anyway make use of these what up ined there it’s just like that it turned off at an ANG right angle turned off at the 90° strange they’re in some right spots these oh well six there in the end

Right on number six with the big stick need to cam it down a bit I know the ball’s low but it shouldn’t be that low slightly heel I’m not moving well today but it’s down the middle I guess we’ll go with that all right so got away with that one

Somehow um still a long way to go got three wood see how we go with this today this was my favorite club last year but things change oh that wind’s picked up going left slightly it’s hard to get it out of this mud it’s gone straight though rather

Low it is a low Ball but it’s supposed to get off the floor at least right 216 yards left into wind left to right I’ve got the five wood a me left of that front bunker see what happens turn ball yeah I’m happy with that straight

Down the middle Just sh of the grain but I’m happy with that one all right so rather muddy here this is really muddy mud ball all right I got the trusty Aon Well normally trusty four shot try and get it close come on you can do this turn ball it’s

On unfortunately I’m not getting close enough to do gimmies so I need this to go in for a PA this come on you can do it get in first PA of the day finally let’s hope it stays that way yeah that’s teach me how to do that Gary

Anyway p on to the next one right so all number seven need to try and keep this down the middle I also need to try and get off the floor so let’s hope that last hole settled it down a bit still with the AVX which I really like feels

Great unfortunately my swing is not great that is stiff so not a great position to be in I’ve got 230 yards left and we go with a three wood it needs to stay low as well hopefully it doesn’t go low enough to hit this peasant that’s on the

Floor so this definitely needs to go up three wood 236 yards come on you can do it be good SW it’s a bit of a swinger it’s past that big tree in the middle at least but that was a right swinger it’s up there Sun wedging and I’ve healed it

Unfortunately you can tell it’s cold today because it is stiffened me right up oh it’s not a disaster yet I seem destined not to leave myself any easy shots today right come on downhill looks fairly slow there though downhill left to right turn and it’s not slow oh these are so hard to

Read that wasn’t an easy one um that’s a downer but it’s not a disaster not yet right then number eight it’s playing 150 yards with the wind I’m going to use both balls on this one to make up for number 16 which she closed which is another path

Three so let’s see how this goes AVX first 9 iron 150 oh that has jumped through the bunker on it’s left side of the green that was rather thin all right so I’m using the uh XLS on this hole as well to make up for whole 16 which is closed 9 again 150

Ys see how this feels oh that’s hard length was good I’ve pulled it that feels like a rock H have to see later with that one that um I wasn’t expecting to feel that hard oh that’s how muddy it is look at it oh well I was nearly on my butt

Then the AVX managed to scrape through it’s just on the top of the bank here um all right so I’ve got the eight iron it needs to perform or I need to perform one of us do oh that’s that’s got of been close that rolled on a bit though I’m happy with

That that’s that was close unfortunately it’s rolled on quite a bit give it a clean but overall I really like the feel of the sax it is definitely a low ball flight unfortunately it’s going lower because I’m not hitting it well but the feel of it is great off all

Clubs see if I can get a par here right to left come on we’ll go with a four for that one disappointing that’s distance was good with this unfortunately I pulled it quite a bit so Sand Wedge I need to get it over this bank what there that is

Hard it felt like hit a stone but I didn’t I’m confused I’m definitely uh confused about the feel of this doesn’t feel how I thought it would I’m just off the back all right come on third shot oh wow how slow is that I’m not getting a good feel from

This only good thing about these is the line I think so far but it’s early days wow that is all over so a five there in the end um I think I was put off a bit by the feel of that but which you’ll see as we get

Going all right number nine with the AVX uh right wind is the right conditions for this hole should send it right try and get it between the two bunkers aim left slightly come on stayed straight left the wind didn’t bring that back died down as I took the shot it’s

Gone it’s on The Fairway it’s gone down the left side though so that’s just crept into left roof unfortunately so it sat okay though I’ve got the three wood see if I can get it out of here only so it will be nice like that go ball

Go yeah that’ll do it’s just short of that bunker in the middle of the Fairway I’ll go with that all right 110 yards I’ve got the pitching wedge slight left to right Breeze I need to get under this is it enough just caught the ground a bit with that one good

Divot but it’s a bit muddy so you can’t get through it it’s just on the front of the grein all right just on the front it dug in bounc forward so I’m not expecting a lot of spin in these conditions I’m only three but I’ve left myself a mega

Po I’ll just be happy to get it close come on turnball ah that is so jumpy just hard to read them it’s hard to tell whether they’re going to be fast or slow with these so sticky come on you can still get a par here got the pace there’s no

Movement right so not a great start not bad but we’ll finish with the six there onto the second half all right second half with the chrom soft XLS Now big stick with the wind that is a bullet is that nearly on the green I know we’ve got wind with us but that was that looks like it’s near the green which we don’t normally do not in the cold day anyway see when we get up there it

Didn’t go as far as I thought but it’s past this tree and it’s um it’s the perfect dayon shop for me let’s hope I can do it come on roll keep rolling ah needed a little bit more it’s okay though just give the ball quick clean right I’m just off the front of

The grin uphill that was the line I think just not hard enough I’m give another click clean obviously there is a new one of these with lines that go all the way around I haven’t got that with me today but this will do I’ll take a path to start off

With bird would have been better but I’ll setle for a PA all right number 11 dog leg to the left right to left wind should help this one you can hear the sound of that that has gone right um but the sound that is you can hear how hard that

Is so I haven’t got a line so I’m going to go over the back of this bunker got a five iron trying and punch it up the Fairway Al do it’s in the middle we go with that 130 yards left for the third shot temporary green

Again I’m going to go with a pit mge because we’ve got the wind with us see what happens we got n it’s sharp the wind is um there and then it isn’t it keeps dying down short and left that one the pheasants are currently digging the greens up lovely we thought it was

The crows all right so we got the a TI now I need to get this close come on get in the pheasants are literally eating the greens let’s get this lined up right uphill left to right slightly go how many times has that happened is that still moving that’s moving can’t wa any

Longer ah six there all right number 12 459 yards from the te um depending where the flag is big stick with the Callaway temperature is dropping unfortunately but the wind is dying down a little bit so we’ll see how this goes that was a bit whippy yes just right of the right side

Bunker I Whi that one a little bit bit stiff but it’s down there so there’s no chance of going for the flag from here so I’ve got a six iron I’m just going to go straight down the left straight down the left side of the Fairway hopefully let’s keep it down

There well that’s actually gone over the trees that was Slappy you can feel you can feel it and you I’m sure you can hear it it’s so much harder than the ax I’m not sure what to think about this there got 99 yards left luckily if

Those other trees were still here I’d be in there now but I’m here so I’m going to go with a 50° it’s not s brilliant let see what happens that was just so I was stood in a funny position there oh well we’re still in

Place right so I need to get this up on the back of the grin got the Aon right edge of the green it should roll around in theory not hitting them well at all I can’t leave myself any sharp pots today this is a bit squelchy

So I’ve left myself a mega put here for p it’s doable was really soft where I’m stood all right right to left come on tell you what from from that distance that’s not too bad oh come on for six seven is they are just hard to read today soft squidgy lumpy oh well

Seven it’s not a disaster yet all right so H 13 is playing 113 uphill I’m going to go with the pitching W here into wind I need to catch some points up somehow come on grab it wind now short pitching wood should have been plenty

There I mean you can tell by the the turbines how much the wind is so oh well good line but it’s a bit short all right so I’ve got you know what the eighton this is way short oh well come on make it up here slow down that ball is so clicky really

Clicky so I’m not I’m just not getting the feel of this chrome soft I don’t get why it’s got soft in its name to be honest because I’m not feeling any of that come on take this off you can still do this just ain’t moving properly at all and

I’ve not even left it short look oh no what is going on Wow thing is I’m not even leaving them short enough to uh have give me gimmies so five there in the end let’s keep going all right so whole 14 gets a bit muddy after this so we go straight to

17 I can still get some points back here that should be spot on yeah that’s right down the middle I’m happy with that the Chrome soft is really good off the driver I just don’t like the feel off it off the irons right so that’s a good spot that

One it’s a bit sticky here though just dropped here jump to there I’ve got 90 yards left I’m going to was the 50° cuz they’re not traveling very far at all with the wedges or they haven’t been come on be long enough that short as well that was only

90 yards I should that would have I would have got that with a sandwich normally I’ve gone to a 50 and it’s still short good line just short so I got the a iron again favorite club or used to be not too sure today just bounce it up there come on wow come

On just doesn’t seem to be happening today I’m not moving well at all that’s the only problem when the temperature changes um I certainly feel it more but doesn’t stop me being stuck inside I know I’d rather be out of here come on get this in for a PA left to

Right just not swinging the putter today we’ll go with the five I guess so A five there two holes to skip now so 7even TI to play and then play both balls on the last hole to make it all even and see where we end up from there right then the dreaded

17th which I only need to play once today thankfully so stayed left I made me left for the wind but I take my shot and it just dies you just can’t predict this wind is just all over the place um so that’s near the left side

Trees I don’t think it’s gone in far though all right so it’s only just off so it’s a three-wood still a long way to go let’s get it over that Hill I really like feel of this off the driver but it’s just the irons it’s really clicky and it just feels

Hard see how it feels off this one again got be good is that down the middle so over the hill and down the middle of the Fairway it’s good off the woods that’s all I’m saying at the moment all right so G-spot not been many of those today got

92 yards I’m actually going to go with the pitching wedge and take a bit off see what happens because they’re not going very far at all off the irons so let’s take a bit off this that could be good perfect line I think it’s a little bit

Short a little bit more but just shows how the temperature and the wind is affecting in the balls today that should have easily made that all right so we’re going with the putter it’s a shame it’s come this short but can’t do anything about that all right come on a bit

Bumpy left to right ah dear give it a clean can’t do a gim me from there not the way they playing that didn’t want to go in but I’ll take that for a pair on the worst toll don’t know why it’s the worst toll it just gets to your head this one but

You got a PA today we’ll go with that all right it’s the final hole playing both balls on this one then that makes up for the closed holes then and then we can see these side by side so we’re going with the crown soft first that is spot

On that chrom soft is brilliant off the driver absolutely brilliant so AVX then that one has taken followed the bend of the Fairway that one AVX now then see if I can do the same going right slightly that’s gone over and right of the bunker so um you feel the heaviness

Heaviness of the a heavier the AVX is heavier really meaty Ball but it’s got a good soft feel to it the Chrome soft is good off the driver but I’m not sure about the irons we’ll see all right so finally we can see on the final hole distance pretty much the

Same flag over there may be a few feet shorter but distance-wise no comparison there pretty much the same let’s see how we finish this hole 125 yards I’m going with a pitching wedge should clear these branches finish off with a bang not enough I don’t think oh it’s on was

Enough that off the irons is great that looks like a good length as well just right of the green that one right pick your wedge again it’s actually under 20 yards so I can take a little bit off so it did go a little bit further than the other ball same again

That’s not enough no there’s just there’s um a big difference between the balls off the irons you can feel that all so I’ve got my sand wedge this is way short this one need to get it up close just a little putter site little bit too much but it’s up

There so the AVX just off this right edge here dropped just over the bunker luckily so get this close happy right uphill slight uphill then back down again left to right needs a little bit in it I’m pretty sure that was the line as well just not enough in that

One actually I need this for a PA with the AVX even feels good off the put of this oh you are joking you are joking me no right so that’s a five with the AVX so onto the Chrome soft I’ve had three shots with this clean the ball come on clean come on

Go go go go go how did he do it twice oh no no no no two5 there I think I’ve just finished a 98 again is that right can’t be oh well um I’ll finish here and you’ll see me back at home where I’ve cleaned the balls up because I need to

Get out the way see you in a second well here I am back at home again guys I just had to get out of that cold it was really starting to hurt um but anyway back to the golf um so another 98 um I’m looking forward to this year if

It carries on like this well obviously it’s going to be short at the moment till I go for surgery but um I’m not sure whether this will be on before or after depends when I get it done um but yeah um another 98 same as last week and

The scores are split 50 AVX 48 chrom soft so um I’ll get to the balls the C the Chrome soft I just I just don’t really like the feel of it I just don’t I don’t find anything soft with it there’s no I’m not getting no soft feel from this ball at

All um it feels okay for a driver but when it comes to the irons and things like that I just found it really hard and clicky um once again not finding much control because it is a bit um wet out there as you can tell but um yeah I’m just not I’m just

Not feeling it with the Chrome soft I don’t know why I just I’m just not so yeah even with the stripe on there um which is a good thing obviously even better if you got the putter that matches but other than the driver which is only one shot every few every hole or

So so yeah but anyway we’ll go the AVX now as you could tell the course I found really good feel with this ball does feel slightly heavier um you get a good grunty feel off it but it feels soft at the same time you definitely know you’ve hit this

Ball you just feel it in the club but it feels soft at the same time and um I’ll show you a closeup of the durability the AVX is absolutely brilliant way better than the prov1 for durability on this I just love the little flat dimples which is similar to what bridg do on

Their balls which I’ll try in another video um obviously this isn’t the most recent Ball but there is pretty much nothing on there nothing at all so durability I really like on the AVX soft as per usual they seem to bruise up a bit it does look like there’s a

Little little cut there as well um so yeah like I said I’m not feeling it with a chrome soft um AVX feels good overall I really really enjoy playing with that ball and I’ve been just been looking at the prices AVX are now £42 direct from tit Le I’m sure there

Was more than that I think they’ve reduced them and that even includes the new putting line that they’ve actually put on there now um which does look a lot better so 42 P the AVX compared to Prov v1’s that’s a lot better price chrom softs for last year’s are currently um

33 35 something like that um obviously they’ve brought a new one out this year the Chrome tour and the Chrome t x so I’m not sure if they carrying on with the XLS I’ve not seen that out um so yeah I’m not sure about that one but

Yeah this is a little bit more expensive than this is but on this occasion it’s tightest ovx all the way for me I just love the feel of that ball it’s got a right grunty feel to it Chrome I’m just not feeling it just don’t feel it

Unfortunately so this week I am going for the feel of the ball it is a little bit more than this but newer version this costs less than this because the Chrome the Chrome is now 48 47.99 £48 for the new Chrome soft with the the 36 line on it whereas he’s a
