I head out to Chattahoochee Pointe Park in order to test out the Eagle’s new Rebirth Envy, a Prism Proton Envy. How does this disc stack up against my tried and true Soft Neutron Envy?

Hey everybody welcome back to pachy disc golf today I am here at chattah huchi Point Park and we are going to play a handful of holes in order to test out Eagle McMahon’s first disc release Since switching over to Team MVP which means we are taking a look at the rebirth Envy

So let’s see how this dis flies so a few weeks ago I did a little preview video of some new disc releases that I was able to get my hands on and one of those discs that really impressed me right off the bat was this Eagle McMahon rebirth Envy this is a prism

Proton Envy with the proton flight plate and the proton Rim both of which are in red in my disc here and I One the stamp looks amazing look how cool this stamp looks and it feels amazing I really enjoyed throwing this disc in that initial review as well I was able to get

Some good distance especially for a putter for me so I’m really interested to try it out because I’m going to be comparing it with the envy that I usually would bag which is my soft Neutron Envy here so I want to see am I able to get more distance with this

Rebirth Envy or are they pretty much the same how do the stabilities compare one thing I will say right off the bat is there’s not that much difference in the rim shape what I’m looking at here I think that this soft Neutron Envy my original Envy might have a little bit

More of a blunt nose where this has more of a taper almost more like a Zone sort of style disc where this is a little bit more rounded and I think that might impact the like the hand feel of the disc because this rebirth EnV feels just

A hair deeper almost uh than the regular soft Neutron Envy this definitely feels more like a normal putter to me in my hands and I’m able to like get my like the pads of my fingertips on the flight plate whereas if I have like the same grip with the rebirth Envy it’s I’m

Still able to get my like fingers and everything in like a comfortable position but if feels just a little bit different so I do think the heights are about the same for these discs but there is a little bit of difference in shape or in width or something where this is

Feeling a little bit deeper I’m really interested to see how this disc compares to my normal Envy uh is that shape difference going to result in a little bit more distance I know eagle has said like the Envy for him feels almost more like a mid-range than a putter so yeah

We’re just going to play a handful of holes here at chattah huchi Point let’s see how this flies we’re going to change things up just a little bit here I’m going to kick things off with this video here at whole 2 360 ft par 4 very

Manageable par 4 I think even with just throwing the Envy this will give me a chance though to throw both of these full power rather than some more control shots like we’re going to be doing a little later so just going to be throwing this straight down we’re going

To start off with eagles rebirth Envy here okay I just just past that middle tree I might have a little awkward footing there but that went very straight it seemed like see how the soft Neutron Envy is very similar both of these were almost identical distance-wise again

Very similar shot shape we have the soft Neutron Envy here I thought that this rebirth Envy was going to be closer to the tree but it wasn’t it’s right here plenty of space so let’s just get a nice approach this will sort of show off that over stability a little bit

More Yep nice reliable fade and we are parked right under the basket let’s try the soft Neutron go in rebirth just a little further out not by much though both of them are tapin for sure all right whole six is a pretty ideal putter hole for me it’s 195 ft par

Three wide open shot here basket straight ahead so throw it off just a little bit to the right and Let It Fade but I think if I give this enough power and spin it shouldn’t have too much fade so we wouldn’t have to throw it way out

Wide like if we were throwing a zone or anything we’re going to start off with the rebirth that looks pretty good fade a little bit oh yeah pin High just off to the right soft Neutron next here pin High just a little right I left myself a little tester with the softage

I thought this was a lot closer we had a maybe a 15t putt but the rebirth is parked even with throwing it a little wide wider than I wanted easy birdie ho eight 190 ft par three basket is in between the two trees on the right here

So with the enves here I’m going to be SW trying to swing something out on the right side of the trees and let them fade back in which means I am going to have to put both of these on Heiser a little bit because I don’t think if I

Throw these flat they’re going to have enough Fade to get back to the basket so we’ll see we’ll start with the rebirth and we’ll try my soft Neutron next oh even with Hiser that just flattened right out carried very straight no not much to it there there is a little bit of a

Headwind so that’s what probably flipped it up so fast it just kept it straight let’s try the soft nron Envy next that one’s a little better that’s parked right under the basket yeah just uh the wind I think died down a little bit for that one actually but overall so far initial

Impressions it seems like they are very similar the biggest thing is like I’ve been mentioning for some reason that rebirth Envy feels just a little a little bit deeper in my hands I don’t know why they don’t they don’t seem like they have that much difference in

Stability I know Kang actually threw the rebirth a little bit and he was saying that he is finding the rebirth to be a little more overstable than his Envy but for me with with my soft Neutron they seem very comparable not too much difference so far here you can see the

Rebirth Envy to the basket Circle Edge and the soft Neutron little tap and Putt there uh if only it could be a little more consistent because you can see the distances I’m I’m right perpendicular with the pen here the distances are nearly identical I just had a much

Better release and I think a little less wind with that soft utron disc there hole 9 180 ft par three basket is Straight Ahead got two little trees to avoid pretty ideal shot for the EnV here I actually used to throw an Envy on this

Hole that was my go-to so we’re going to try the rebirth first and the soft Neutron just go a little bit to the right of it give it some power so it doesn’t doesn’t fade too much and we’ll see how it goes that should be good fade a

Little yep ooh pass the basket soft Neutron similar throw little bit lower and because of that a little bit better a little easier putt there both EnV here very solid easy like sub 10t putts oh into a headwind though this is the uh soft Neutron here the uh rebirth Envy I definitely thought

Went a little bit further past the basket but we are past it just maybe only 7 ft or so but two birdies from either so that’s pretty nice hole 10 is only 205 ft but for some reason this hole always gives me a little bit of trouble when it comes

To throwing Putters I usually end up having to throw a mid-range to reach thisle I have no clue why one of my more recent videos where I was showcasing some of the new discs I got I was able to park it with this rebirth Envy so I

Know I can reach it so let’s see if we can do it again we’ll also test out the soft Neutron Envy as well obviously starting off with the rebirth here okay we did it again it’s a little short I threw it a little bit weaker

Than I wanted to I’m just so tired I don’t know why I’m not even playing that much right now but well let’s try the uh soft Neutron Envy as well here that definitely came out better I think we’re parked again yep that one’s right under the pin okay so I really

Thought this rebirth shot was a little bit closer we still have like a 10-ft putt to make for birdie but the soft Neutron Envy is parked I did feel like when I threw this rebirth I felt like it came out a little early so I don’t

Know little wobbly but we still made it all right we’re going to wrap up here at hole 13 which is about 250 ft the sign says 270 I’m pretty sure it’s wrong uh the basket is Straight Ahead wide open a little bit downhill as well and we have

A nice helping Tailwind as well normally I do throw either a very overstable Fairway or usually a mid-range on this hole but I think I can get there with the enves and it’s funny because eag says that this Envy does feel more like a mid-range than a putter so I think

What I’m going to do is we’ll throw both of these One Last Time nice and flat a little off to the right Let It Fade and I think I’m going to pull out my Matrix and my hex as well and we’ll see how distances compare because I do actually

Think I’m getting more distances from these than I am from regular throwing Putters like I’m testing out the cosmic Fury right now from uh disia and that one do not seem like it’s as easy to get the same distance so let’s give both of these a shot we’re going to start with

The rebirth first we’ll throw the uh soft Neutron EnV second then we’ll pull out my mid-ranges after that that was so money just in front of the basket there that was such a good throw these these envies really do go far I put just a little bit of Hiser on

It it held it but not anything crazy dumpy or anything not like zone or anything all right let’s see can I replicate that with my soft Neutron envy that was a great shot oh way too wide great distance though just way too wide can I get further distance with

Mid-ranges or are these enves really going like the same distance as my mids so I’m going to be going with my Matrix first this is my more overstable mid that I have with me then I’ll go with my hex second I am going to throw both of

Them full power we’re not trying to park this or anything if I can blow past the basket that does mean I’m able to get a little more with these mid-ranges but we’re going to see I think it’s actually going to be a pretty close race so we’re

Going to start with the Matrix first here oh man I think that went just a tad further than the Envy but they’re going to they’re right next to each other I think the uh the The Matrix landed closer to the basket the Envy had more

Of a skip forward but that was like what 10t 20 ft maybe Max not a lot in the grand scheme of things so that is the more overstable mid that I have so let’s see if I can pump the hex a little further cuz it is a little

Straighter all right so it was straighter but both the hex and the Matrix seemed to have gone about the same distance honestly the mids did not go that much further than those enves I think Eagle is definitely correct in saying that these enves are closer to mid-ranges than just throwing FS it’s

You can really get some distance out of them all right so here’s my soft Neutron Envy you can see the basket right up here so we’re about pin High just way off to the right I really messed this throw up but for the rest you can see

The hex also only pin High The Matrix is a little bit past the basket you can see right here and then the uh the rebirth Envy just short of the basket but both of those very makeable putts and only about 10 ft from each other I am all

Finished up with my little test of the rebirth Envy here and I have to say I really do like this disc it definitely has a nice little touch of overstability I am like toying with discs in between my Straight putter slot and my overstable Approach slot so right now

I’m using the lasso in that slot but I have historically used an Envy before in that slot and I really enjoyed it and there’s something with this rebirth Envy I don’t know what it is I in all my throws for the most part I was getting very similar distance with both of these

But there’s something with like the shape or the depth of this disc that just like inspires confidence in it like I know I can throw this disc hard it’s going to fade a little bit to the left like it’s not going to burn over to the

Right I feel like I could TR rest of this into a headwind and it’ll just like flip up carry Straight maybe still have a little bit of fade at the end whereas with this one I just don’t quite have as much confidence I don’t know I think

Just in the hand this like Eagle said this feels like a mid-range and because of that I feel like I can trust it a little bit more and it makes me want to throw it a little bit harder uh so because of that I think I am really

Really liking this rebirth Envy again this is purely like mental because in most of my throws these were going nearly the same distance and like on even on like full power throws I wasn’t like getting I wasn’t noticing that much difference in stability I wasn’t noticing that much difference in

Distance but this rebirth Envy just the way it feels in my hand specifically just inspires confidence it lets me know I can really rip it and that last hole is kind of blowing my mind right now like do I need mid-ranges I’m throwing this nearly as far if not just as far as

Some of my mid-range is in my bag right now so I don’t know maybe I should like lower the number of like actual mid-ranges I have five mid-ranges right now six mid-ranges I think I have five and maybe I can parse that down a little bit and get just a handful of mid-ranges

Cover some of that basis with just an Envy in my limited bag space I can have a couple more Fairway drivers where I am actually able to see a little bit more difference at least with like shot shapes and things because I feel like this Envy is sort of a mix between that

Hex and that Matrix that I just threw maybe I don’t need either of those and I can just bag just this one Envy so I don’t know that’s going to be something that future Chris is going to really have to think about I’m not going to

Make too many big bag changes right now I do have my first tournament coming up in a couple in a couple days here so I do think this is going in the bag I think this is going to replace the lasso but I’m not going to really make any big

Mid-range changes quite yet but as of right now I love this Envy I mean I just love the Envy overall like this is still like a normal soft Neutron Envy any Envy is going to be a great disc to have in your bag but let me know down in the
