Hello my name is George Pinsky and I’m one of the instructors here at Bonita Bay Club today I’d like to talk about how important the lead hand grip is to the golf swing and for a right-handed golfer that’s the left hand a lot of golfers get into the habit of putting

The handle or the golf grip in the middle of their hand and what we need is we need the heel pad of the left hand to be on top of the golf grip so this is the heel pad here there’s a the thumb pad this is the heel pad which is next

Which is right next to the pinky here and this is there’s a heavy part of the hand here uh and that’s where you want to put you want this heel pad on top of the golf grip so the top of the golf grip is is where this Golf Pride logo is

Right this is the top of the grip this is the side of the golf grip and this is underneath the golf grip so we need the handle of this golf club to lay diagonally across the fingers and the heel pad on top and you can see how the

Heavy part part of my left hand is on top of that club and that creates another angle here the the angle underneath my left forearm and this handle that’s another Power angle here so now once we have the heel pad on top of the club dialing and the golf grip dialing through the

Fingers now we can get this nice 90 degree angle between the left forearm and the shaft and this is a power angle this is a speed angle and if the club is in the middle of the hand you can’t get it so with the heel pad on top of the

Club Diagon to the fingers it’s very easy to get this 90° angle in the back swing and then once you have that angle once you have that 90° angle you get a lot of freebies in the downswing so in the downswing when you make your move into the golf ball and your transition

This angle releases the club head closes and rolls through impact and reh hinges on the other side and all that magic happens if you have a good left-handed grip so the procedure that I use is I let my arm hang to my side and this this

Is how my left hand naturally hangs and that’s how I drop the club in my left hand I practice this every day right and then I load the club in the back swing to the 90 degree angle I swing and that club that club released rolled close through impact and

Re hinge down the other side of my body and those are all freebies if you have a good left-handed grip I hope this helped we’ll see you on the lesson t
