Prois golf is back which means the drama controversy and all the rest is back too we got you covered every Monday on the weekend wrap-up breaking down everything Disc Go you need to know from the weekend I’m Jefferson the president of the Anthony Bella fan club alongside me

The one with all the holes in his game swiss cheese and we’re with the discol world big thanks to the dgpt for giving us media clearance and allowing us to use some of our own Cuts so yeah some of this stuff is filmed by your boys the inaugural tournament for the newly

Minted Olympus course did not upset fans who were eager for a fresh start of the season away from the Las Vegas challenge lvc was the kickoff event that features one of the ball golf style disc golf courses on tour it has been repeatedly lumped together with other stops like

DDO and heavily criticized for its boring open layouts the stop though is incredible the tournament is located to the closest tourist destination on tour in Las Vegas known as a well- ran tournament took care of their volunteers a course that was spectator friendly and the biggest disc drops on tour the

Difference between lvc and chess.com Invitational could not have been more Stark in contrast in stops with tighter Fairways in woods that makes it a challenging track where scoring was difficult to come by fans watching at home I’m sure enjoyed the change who doesn’t want a course that challenges

Pros of each division with differing layouts for both that highlights elevation change blind approaches whole shapes and in classic Paul design fashion some difficult pin positions from a player perspective When comparing which course they would rather play between the two Olympus would win out almost unanimously yet as far as it

Being the opening event many would rather lead into the season with the warmup of an lvc style course over the punishing Olympus course where placement is Paramount from a spectator who has attended both the accessibility and almost bottlenecking of holes at times can be difficult to follow along a card

And scores on the Olympus course neither VIP or general emission had access to all the te’s and pins for that matter the vendor Village was small but more certain that was due to it being the inaugural event and the team’s attention and focus spent on the needed course

Adjustments for me the Stop and especially the course has the makings of something special I believe it will not be long for this to be one of the Premier stops on tour Paul and the team will pull from what has been successful at other stops and pull it to this

Location the improvements made on the mixis property despite poor weather and time frame is truly remarkable already simply walking the property it already measures up close to some of the greatest courses in the sport that I have personally experienced and it’s still in its infancy the ownership team

Will continue to make adjustments listen to player feedback and fine-tune the details of this Pro style course which will push you to top the disc golf destination list apart from the improvements on the course the ownership also locking up a sponsorship with chess.com might be just as equally Grand the sponsorship might already

Established itself as one of the premier on tour for those who want to make the tour more like the PGA this sponsorship is a step in the right direction playing out on the course with oversight Siz chess pieces that fans could not keep their hands off of a celebrity Grandmaster appearance with Magnus

Carlson attending and a cohabitated effort to provide exposure for both disc golf and chess truly a welcome change from some of the more traditional sponsors who have gone accustomed to just writing a check Paul MC Beth might be the one to bring this collab and beauty of Olympus to life but that

Doesn’t excuse his outfit choice for the first day too bad everyone was caught up about his baby weight then whatever the hell that was the course was amazing however every shot was demanding forcing players to hit tight gaps that if weren’t peered could find trouble quickly also I love the chess pieces

Around the course and I hope this partnership is long lasting so we can get some unique obstacles that make more sense I never had an issue with the mozzarella sticks or Christmas trees at usdgc but I get the arguments of the Optics looking like random pieces of

Wood in the ground or just Tacky in general instead There’s an opportunity to use the chest pieces to add some Challenge and also be a way to promote the sponsor imagine cool wood carvings of the pieces placed around Fairways or baskets varying in size even if they

They aren’t directly used for the hole just having them around the property I think would add a lot of value especially to the dynamic of the course if chess.com continues to be the sponsor for a prolong time I love the idea of having the course be known for the

Tournament and having the chess pieces always scattered around increases the perception to casuals playing that wouldn’t know about the tournament without this connection a great opportunity to grow the awareness of the event through all the locals that will be playing this course now that it’s permanent this will be an easier bridge

To build if they don’t already watch disc golf coverage if somehow you didn’t see the Great chess player of all time was actually at the event even spectating some cards there even was some exclusive Magnus MC Beth content being filmed so we’ll just have to wait and see what paywall that goes behind

Going into the final round of the chess.com Invitational I’m sure AB was hoping for a bigger lead than just a stroke but I don’t live in a world where you complain about being in first place so he was still in great shape after proving the first two rounds he can

Shred the course every Bella fan was just hoping to not see the classic AB blow up it would only take the first hole for the lead to disappear after a Barella lay up for par and a drilled c2p from Ricky Waki who been playing well all weekend long he birdied eight out of

The last nine holes the day prior to push himself a stroke back and with it Striking Distance of the win didn’t take long for him to take a share of the lead putting all the pressure back on the young Bella who is yet to get a win on

Tour calm in what seemed to be with little nerves AB took one shot at a time after only seven holes barell would have separated himself from Ricky by five Strokes not by exciting play rather just avoiding the mistakes as Olympus throws them players way the same couldn’t be

Said about wasaki as he not only carded a bogey on whole four but worse a double on seven that set him farther back with Ricky nearly out of sight there were still others making a move from other cards if you saw jomez they probably got you covered though right wasn’t that the

New plan I don’t know I’m here for all this stuff I didn’t have a chance to watch so let us know in the comments what the changes were for now I’ll just leave it to Swiss with AB taking most of the narrative some other great player action may have went more unnoticed

Aaron gs’s final round 8 under was the the hot round of the tournament that moved him onto the podium he was first in Tia green and scramble rate that day Joey buckets needs to be on more people’s breakout player watch lists his skills translate in person smooth

Approach game and above average putt he is benefiting by learning these courses and what it takes to challenge for the win he’s earned some quality lead card experience in this stop and at World’s last year and I would not be surprised if he pops into a couple of top 10

Finishes or higher this season I is Robinson came back from a 36 Place spot after a disastrous late finish to day one he ended up finishing in sixth place but the story that should be on more people’s lips was an unsponsored player rocking an open bag and finishing in

Sixth place Gavin Rathbun responded with his best round on the final day shooting a six under a great recovery after a poor second round his worst of the tournament Gavin has always had the potential to be around a top 20 to 30 talent but has battled injuries for his

Entire entire time on tour back to AB now Bella played his game through and through dissecting nearly every hole the way he wanted even getting some highlight smashes per usual most think of ab as a player who can just throw far understandably so but also has an insane

Ability to hit tight gaps look at how he played this course and Northwood black for example all I’m saying is watch him at Champions Cup he would play clean the entire final round and extended his lead up until hole 17 he would go OB off the

Te again on this hole and manage another double bogey thankfully he got his next Drive in bounce and played a solid final hole which allowed him to lay up his Circle one Putt and tap in his first ever win on tour too bad that was the trophy you won just a chess board

Literally that was it just a normal chess board to be fair I heard they were nearly $500 a piece and they will be getting engraved if that happens it does make it much better but let’s be real the players really only care about the money trophies are more for the looks

And when you show off this as The elusive trophy of this prestigious event kind of looks weird at least lvc was giv out bottles of moonshine I will say the celebration was worth the back paint I had standing at whole 18 watching his friends on standby knowing AB was about

To accomplish a dream that he’s had nearly his whole life truly awesome to see in person oh yeah and that Abel made the 20-hour drive from Wisconsin to Florida even more worth it especially with everyone around me making fun of the emotional roller coaster I was going through my mind couldn’t stop replaying

Whole 16 to the European open over and over again as he’s approaching any sort of OB I get chill’s just thinking about it heading into the final day of the fpo side all the eyes were on the top six competitors only separated by three Strokes on a difficult track where

Bogeys can stack up like pancakes and birdies on some of the holes can really separate it was still anyone’s event to win evina Solon made a statement early with a big drive on one putting herself within Circle one the 22t putt resulted in a birdie was even bigger gaining a

Stroke advantage on the entire Chase and Lead cards combined she would become the outright Leader by whole three after Missy Ganon Ella Hansen and Holland Hanley all bogey or Worse despite her extending the lead with a drop in birdie after her approach on whole four still

Few sitting at home and on the course expected evina to win the event it was far too early in the round as most still expected aina’s putting game to get exposed evalina’s putt is about as consistent as inova’s Destroyer runs and has been The Narrative of her career

Long before for what we witnessed at Waco last year despite Ella Holland Natalie Ryan and henna blamus off to slow starts and only Missy in the contention at that point many still expected Missy to gain Strokes on the putting green it doesn’t help either when evelina’s average putt going into

The final day was less than 12T for that event hole six the fourth easiest hole of the day would be costly for Aina after an OB throw that would eventually lead to a bogey it would not only result in a two-stroke swing for Aina against her entire card but also cost her the

Lead as well Missy moved into the top spot from there evalina’s response with a huge Bullseye hit Birdie on the very next hole Missy looked strong enough to win during those middle holes she would go on in birdie 8 n and 10 with her hitting a huge 60ft putt on nine while

Aina’s Drive was sitting in circle one after 10 missy would have a two-stroke lead with eight to play Missy would play par golf until whole 13 when she would lose the lead to evina who would only now start getting her round hot which couldn’t be more the opposite for Missy

As she ended the day with a double on 17 and followed up with a bogey on 18 evina would secure four birdies in the last five holes which included a layup elag put for the win which ruined her 100% se1 X streak for the day but that’s okay

When it was for her first pro tour win since Waco in 2020 which if you don’t remember the final round was canceled due to covid officially getting her first win on tour without an asri yes I’m counting the 2019 Memorial in there as much as it pains me to do so put some

Respect on that tournament at least for the fountain evina took advantage down the stretch which also happened to have the four longest holes on the course even with evelina’s putt I don’t think anyone is taking Missy over her on nearly any par five on tour evina does

What she does best hitting lines off the te with arguably the best distance control in the entire Foo she would go on to birding all three and take a two-stroke Advantage with near victory in hand with her ability to Eagle 18 and with Missi yet to even score a birdie on

The hole the two days prior after going OB on her approach on 17 resulting in a double bogey for Missy evina would Coast to her first dgbt victory in four years had some of the biggest FP players chanting her name as she approached her Eagle attempt which she still jokingly

Laid up celebrated with her friends henna in the big victory Missy’s double on 17 along with two more OB throws on 18 would end up dropping her down for a share of third place place after Holland was able to hit a big Drop Zone putt on

18 Ella was able to lock in a Solo second place finish for the tournament being the first event of the year and the coverage being torched on social media platforms the week prior at the allstar event it was anticipated by the community what the quality is going to

Be like for the chess.com Invitational one of the many perks of being at the event live in person besides seeing all the action is meeting some awesome fans along the way and for some sharing a beer shout out to everyone who said what’s up over the last 3 days not too

Sure why some of you wanted pictures with us but always happy to stop for selfies and even a few autographs I’ve never signed anything swiss cheese so I kind of midly froze but to be honest each of you gave us some hope in what we were trying to accomplish and the drive

To attack Texas back to Jefferson about the coverage quality from what I’ve seen online it’s been very mix reviews lots of fans saying they had no issues but on the other hand I still saw lots of posts complaining about something not working but I will say from the masses I’ve seen

Way more positive than negative but being at the event I didn’t have much time to watch live other than what was on the site and I got to be honest from what I was able to see seemed pretty good of course it’s still going to have moments of being blurry or some

Buffering but we’re in the middle of the Woods at least there was an effort in building a stronger connection with Broad in devices the other complaint I saw were lots of comments about their still being a delay with the commentators but again can’t address that besides what I’ve seen from the

Fans online another big complaint from the week was the switch from udis to PDGA live I’ve yet to hear anything positive about this change the biggest issues I heard was it being slow to update not having some of the old statistics that were popular before Oh yeah and the fact that the system

Crashed it’s hard for me to just brush that off I’m not going to pretend to believe the app should have time to work out the Kinks because when the standard is set to the fans how am I supposed to accept it going backwards that being said I do have confidence that it will

Be fine as the season goes on however when no one can get into the app that’s an issue I’m not only talking for the fans experience either but since the PDGA new rule change making every player take score that would now be impossible lucky enough dgpt staff are doing a

Great job running around the course trying to get paper scorecards to each player not the best look for PDGA live right now that’s not even talking about all the stuff Drew Gibson had to say I guess he has lots of free time to tweet instead of playing in the tournament

This would spark a back and forth between Gibson and jvd from the Smashbox podcast I could go through this debacle tweet for tweet and dissect the issues being presented but I don’t care that much and guys that’s a wrap for everything chess.com Invitational if you enjoyed make sure to like And subscribe

It’s the easiest way to support the channel we are lucky enough for the homie Aaron to hook it up for a couple days in Nashville and for David for plugging it up for the first tournament of the Year shout out to you guys for being the homies we’re on our way to

Waco with some huge things in the works so make sure to continue to check out all the content he

  1. The Chess pieces could also be used for footage markers(younger cousin of the yardage marker), then take away electronic measuring devices for tourney rounds.

  2. Kept getting cut ony laptop so I switched to watch it on my phone. No option on the cox contour at my friend's house. As I don't have a tell a vision myself.

  3. My biggest issue with the new streaming service is that when watching on a computer, there is no 'theater mode' aka fullscreen mode on a browser. Makes it very difficult when watching at work.

  4. The vendor village was small because dh is just no where near as big as people think ot is look theres 73000 acrive pdga memebers world wide thats it these things just take time to build one day 50 yrs from now dg will be main strwam and hige its juat not there yet

  5. I've been a long-time fan of more open courses, since I believe the discs were meant to fly free. Nothing more boring than watching a card chopping their way along a densely wooded fairway with the commentators constantly saying "Kicked into the rough" with every shot. That being said, this course may play better a month or so later, after the spring monsoons are over and the players are a bit more into their game. It was tough watching them turf their first few shots in the first tournament. I'm happy to see you guys getting more recognized by the tour.

  6. Was so funny watching AB, ecstatic about his victory, holding…a random wood chessboard with no words on it😂

  7. Whoa …. Don’t know if you just want to score points with Paul but…. You are going way over top in your luv to this place…

  8. That doesn’t change the fact that you guys do a great job and are becoming an essential part of my Disc Golf media experience like watching Jomez coverage gatekeeper….etc
Smash Box, The Upshot, Foundation, staggered stance… though Matt is strangely irritating Ha!
    Thanks

  9. 12:34 Awesome seeing you guys again! Have fun and be safe on the road! Hopefully we will see you again soon! ❤💪

P.S. I will never not take a pic with you guys 😎

  10. They played a really hard actual disc golf course. This is what disc golf is, so much more fun to watch

  11. I was on final round of a tournament on Saturday when the PDGA live crashed, but what people aren’t talking about is PDGA scorecard had also crashed

  12. I hate live coverage so this being post round coverage was awesome. I prefer to watch wooded courses.

  13. I played in a PDGA tournament a couple weeks ago. Glad to hear that I’m not the only one that is experienced crashing. I got into my round and it crashed at the end of basket 2. Had to log back in and record the scores on the previous holes that I had already done.
