Spending all day in the water, surfing with good friends, talking through design theories on boards and fins, testing new equipment — all pieces of why we love surfing.

What is [Laughter] that that right I need that for my deck let’s go are we going yeah I’m going to pick Eli up [Applause] Ch Oh Lord in heaven all right so for a fin that’s just going dead straight in the water is it more functional during turns or straight beine I think it would be more functional both because what a fin is straight so it’s generating Force forward as is liftting length is

Generating Force up and forward so it’s pushing the fin forward on it’s pushing it Forward faster so when when the water is hitting the fin and it has 50/50 coil um that tends to pull your surf work down into the water that’s why Big W fins it’s

Really important to if you want to have control especially your back bins 50 oil is great cuz it adds control it holds your equipment down to the water interesting if it’s 6040 like normal fins or 7030 you had that broadside flat Edge that creates lift yeah your

Equipment comes out of the water less control but more speed because I mean they’re driver fins right that’s why it’s called like that’s why Simon owners a name a Thruster side fins are thrusting back fins like the old school single fins just for control I me you think about the best example is

A old school big chunky Single Fin yeah fat those fins are and they’re super dull and 50/50 and they it’s really slow and they pull the board down because they were trying to hang T and keep their board in in the Water So you want to leave leave where you going what hold on all those ones on the side too yeah I just want to clear out I I just don’t know where I’m there I don’t know where I’m and this is a six oh they’re both six sixes all right [Applause]

Then get out of my [Applause] face pretty sick huh back to the make back to their maker I guess back to meet their maker Yeah Back [Applause] Oh [Applause] back my

  1. I live 400 metres walk from the beach. Only thing is the banks down there have been rubbish for about a year. These guys on the other hand are insanely privileged to live where they do. The thing is I think they know that, and come across as humble, thoughtful, good humoured and respectful. I know their surfing is amazing, but it is the way they conduct themselves that stands out for me. Their mum did a great job bringing them up.

  2. And I thought that all the different fin options and what not was a load of bobbins, V interesting bits of info there. Cheers for that and the vid.

  3. Wow that was next level. All the criteria met right there boys wow…. Blue barrels and rail busting carves. Giddy up……..

  4. I feel bad for the peeps that couldn't appreciate Johnny's lil piano jam @ the beginning and turned down the volume, missing out on dope fin theory and one mayjah banger @ the end💯🍒

  5. The drop and lock rail is one of my most enjoyable moves… on a bodyboard!! Fwaooor gotta give it to ya JJ! eg 1:40

l'm rooting for you from chiba japan!!

  7. Love the musical choices Mate, your vids are always pushing the idea as to what a surf vid is, thanks!

  8. That first piece with just the piano music reminded me of my dad (musician) as he would start to play piano when I’d come home and tell him about surf trips. Thanks.

  9. When a see a new movie or short movie, or what else they call, on your channel, I know that I will enjoy it. It’s a different perspective than others, different music, and probably my surf view of the sport/life that I discovered on the middles sixties. Yeah, I’m still surfing after all these years…keep doing them, JJ, it keeps me happy! Thanks…

  10. So refreshing not to hear any ghetto music on this channel! Edit: I spoke too soon. This footage is vandalized with ghetto music towards the end. 🤮

  11. To be honest surfing waves like that for me would just be about survival not fun 😂😂

  12. All you guys that live over there on the islands are so fortunate to have grown up there. Man wish I could just visit there one time in my life before I get to old!! lol. 55 now.

  13. The introduction of natural sound under the music was perfect. Soundtrack was great. Mix of conversation, surf and title pages was epic. Beautiful little piece! All shot on RED?

  14. I determined a "vibing with the wave" rating for all 3.
    1) Ivan – strongly vibes with the wave
    2) Nate – still asking "how do they want to see it – should I swing my arms in unison?"
    3) John John – "I don't vibe, I dominate…"
