Oh man just not another one that sounded fantastic good ball speed 103 very very good ball speed all right guys welcome back so a couple weeks ago we took a look at the new Wilson Staff irons the the blade in the cavity uh but there was one more that we

Said we were going to test we teased it out there the dino power Forge Michael yeah first thoughts I mean it looks looks pretty good clean badging um interested to see what it’s going to sound like and feel like once we give it aeit obviously this is much more of a

Technology story I think the other two irons were the the signature feel um the blade was incredible looking obviously not the most forgiven in the world but relative to blades actually handled it pretty well this is a whole different story Mikey boy we’ve got um kind of

Slot technology in the bottom here um we’ve got not the strongest lofs but on the stronger side yeah 44 in the wedge 8620 carbon uh so soft enough for us to obviously Bend customize Etc not something that was really that prevalent in the previous version of it it was

Definitely a firmer iron with stronger Lofts so I’ll be curious to see how this retains the feel of that or does it kind of still lean towards uh a bit of a distance iron so you said to me the other day you know when you’re first had

To look at these you thought quite nice I mean you sit them down you’re like all right not a I was expecting a lot of offset um but I think they look they look pretty clean so again I’ve only had a couple shots with them but to really

Test them I’m excited to to see what they feel like and sound like I think it’s obviously in the realm of a p790 that kind of World um so we’ll see interestingly the the pitching wedge has the same Loft as yours 44 44 so um not

Expecting to see too much in the way of kind of jumpers with with this one out the gate but starting as we get into the sort of uh mid and long IRS when we do start to access the technology here I’m I’m going to expect to see more from the

Face totally we done this test with you a few weeks ago and we saw that the irons I’m trying to think what was it maybe it was maybe the Muno video where we said the gapping didn’t really make sense for you I’m kind of worried about

It here as well you know that’s fairly weak and L relatively speaking obviously this has the tech how is that going to hang with these when it doesn’t he either have the lower loft or the tick yeah it might be gappy yeah yeah let’s see all right hit the wedge for me all

Right Mikey boy let’s see it pitch and wedge mulus 130 Step Up Show what we got oh man just not another one not that sounded fantastic good ball speed yeah 103 very very good ball speed 100 ft in the air little bit of a Miss but held

It really good I love the sound of these the sound definitely a firmer feeling iron though really I’m shocked at that yeah yeah you should hit it after just to see it’s definitely firmer like a to me a p790 or okay you messed that with a little bit

Skinny tell you what it’s held it uh held up its distance pretty well you’ve yeah youve you’ve kicked up the spin a little bit because obviously the low strike but quite like it yeah 1.6 good spin 24 all right Michael lovely opening Salo from you there that was a very

Unlike you uncharacteristically good these tests are Norm a bit of a struggle you but you obviously quite liked it all right all that’s good KBS tour it’s becoming your new sha I like it I’ve always liked the KBS beautiful yeah we bit NY let’s see a couple more not bad though 117 ball

Speed your best seven IRS you normally get about 120 121 ball speed y quite Goods hey you missed it you lost your balance touch but it came out good yeah sounded better yet yeah right out the middle there’s your 121.4 mhm 180 180 carable okay that was flush that’s the noise we

Want that’s the noise the ladies want Michael again that’s a nice sound yeah really efficient with this one path and face are excellent you’ve been working in your swingless what’s happened to you this week this is pretty good I worked over it on the weekend oh did you know yep well sneaky practice

Trying you’ll keep it up it’s working okay this is where it gets tough 200 yards I’m who doesn’t carry a five iron it’s a lot to ask especially when you have the my five iron replacement that I do it’s so easy to get it up in

The air I know you wouldn’t even be thinking about it with this no okay take man up step up it’s good looking P not a ton of offset okay sure come on now pretty it wow that’s pretty lucky pretty good get a little help off that Soul yeah

Yeah that’s a great sound strike did you get it all yeah yeah I said it confidently I wouldn’t lie to you I was right in the heart yeah right in the heart of downtown yeah look at the spin yeah so there’s only 600 difference between your five and

Your seven that’s why it’s kind a little bit close yeah a little launches a yeah you’re right you put a six iron in there this is where the gapping comes into yeah start probably being like 186 18 you know something like that wow that is pure luck pure Technology power hole saves me

Stay do you know what it’s not bad though it’s going to work pretty good yeah I mean that’s why we like this hole for test know we joke about you know we’re back here again in Dubai but is a tough it is a tough pin it is you’re up

Against it trying to cover it but you’re doing a nice job you’re retaining most of the height yeah launch is okay yeah yep no it’s pretty uh pretty good I think it’s uh listen definitely pass the test you know you’ve hit other long IRS really well recently is it

Maybe as good as those I’m not sure if it’s quite as good as you hit those ones yeah but it’s pretty good yeah no I mean there’s a couple especially on the five and one in the toe one of the heel and one of the center and it well I said to

You I’m was shocked it even carried the number if I standing in the middle of the fair I’d be like there’s no chance that’s going to get there and it it flew it so definitely nice to see the wedge sounds soft the you know when you start

Adding the tech where the power hold technology is in the soul I can hear a little bit more of a click but I think I think of Technology at that point I think that’s quite good okay guys three great options from Wilson it’s a hell of

A deal stay tuned for more we’ll see you again soon

  1. These are going to sell like crazy especially with that price point. I think Wilson is definitely starting the year hot.

  2. Know how to solve that gapping issue? Just put the darn lofts on top! Then I could have just 2 "8" irons that gapped out perfect smh…

  3. Wilson are back making bag worthy clubs, always played them in the 80’s, the blades were sublime, don’t play blades now, i blend my set and it looks like that’s possible with the Wilson offering. I will investigate.

  4. I purchased the D9 forged to replace my Apex Pro 21’s for more forgiveness. After hitting both I’ve decided to practice more and use the Apex’s. The Callaway’s feel so much better.

  5. I loved my D7 forged irons dearly for a couple years, I must admit they weren't built great and they started to bend where the head meets the shaft. They have really poor customer support in the UK, they use a different company to handle their warranty issues and it was just an absolute farce. Long story short the issue wasn't resolved and I sold them to Golfbidder before the issue became more apparent. Such a shame because I love the look of these new irons but I just don't trust the customer support.

  6. They look good, they sound fantastic, they are clearly very forgiving but…

the spin on the 7i was stupidly low, the gapping between 7i and 5i was poor. I do wonder whether the 6i might go almost exactly the same distance as the 5i. I am guessing that the only way a ball stops on a green with 8i or longer is down to peak height and descent angle.

Cannot help but feel there are better options out there, but possibly not at the price Wilson sell at. Like many sets with similar lofts this is not a set to have a 5i or 4i

  7. Went to my local shop to check the new Blueprint Ts and ended up hitting the new Staff Model Blades.
Really enjoyed them and the price is great too.

  8. So Mike hitting PW and 7 somehow 4.8 degree toe down… would this normally show a more left to right ball flight for right handed player ? (The 5Y saw some slight pulls with 5.5 toe down)

  9. It's good to see some more exposure for Wilson, their clubs are back in a big way, I have the previous model CB's and I think they are more than a match for the major brands at a very good price point.

  10. Nice to see this reviewed lads. I've played the D7Forged and now the D9Forged in the bag for 2024. So pleased with the value, performance, feel, looks and sound of the D9Forged. I'd assume these Dyna's are similar. Like Mikey though, the 5i was a no go in my bag and a 5H gapped so much better to the 6i. The 6-G are money though.

  11. 1.20 you said the "former iron" was a firmer iron i think u said and with stronger lofts, when in actual fact, the former iron, the D9 forged is made from the same metal and have the exact same lofts 🤷🏼‍♂️

  12. This video has left a lasting impression on me, and I'm still processing all the valuable insights you've shared. Your ability to distill complex topics into digestible nuggets of knowledge is nothing short of impressive. The flow of the video was seamless, and I appreciate the effort you put into ensuring that your audience stays engaged throughout. Your dedication to providing accurate information and supporting it with credible sources is commendable. This video is a shining example of what YouTube content should be – educational, thought-provoking, and impactful!

  13. From a price perspective if these are almost as good as the P790’s then I’ll be testing these soon just to see and feel for myself. At about half the price here in Australia.

  14. One of my favourite memories is following the late Payne Stewart at the Canadian Open. He was playing a nice shiny set of Wilson Staff irons. That swing and those clubs were a perfect match.. These new irons come from a pretty classy family tree and they look very playable for us mortals. Remember Mike, luck is a byproduct of skill:).

  15. Big fan of the looks of these. If they come with some decent graphite options as well, that would be awesome.

  16. Good clubs but they never sell at our place until the end of the year when we blow them out at 40 -50 % off , the look of the holes turn a lot of people off just looks cheap.

  17. I totally had a gapping issues with my d9 forged! 125 yard pw and 190 yard 5 iron! I will say the 5 iron was amazing!

  18. You mentioned in a previous video that you would bend Mikey’s irons 2 up for the long irons and flatten the wedges, I’m thinking of doing this too with my new CB’s to help with the leaking 5 iron. What is Miley does in his swing that makes you consider that?

  19. Interesting. I noticed Mikey's chs was the same with the 7i and 5i, which probably explains some of the 'gapping issues'. I have the same speed issue (just a few mph slower) and the same gapping challenge – not enough gap to slot a 6i in there but too much to take the 6i out. I'm thinking of strengthening the 6i a degree and the 5i 2 degrees (and maybe lengthening the shaft for a mph or two more chs) to stretching the gapping closer to what I want.
I already play the Dynapower's predecessor – the D9 forged 5i and 6i, and the staff CB 7i and 8i and I don't think there is a noticeable difference in feel so am surprised Mikey thinks the forged Dynapower feel harsher than the CBs. I guess, like beauty, feel is in the hands (and ears) of the beholder.

  20. These Wilson Dynapower Forged irons are truly game changers – my golf game now has uncharacteristically good luck…or so I keep telling myself! 🏌️‍♂️🍀

  21. Good review and nice to see Mikey in the driving seat. What’s the descent/spin combo for 6 and 7 at 75 mph club speed? Isn’t that what these irons are targeted at?

  22. It's possible the gap from 7-6 is fine but 6-5 a bit tight since 5 is where Mikey would transition to a wood or hybrid

  23. Hello Guys. I really enjoyed these review videos. Hoping to pull the trigger on a new set of irons this season. Tell me your thoughts on this club compared to the Wilson D9 Forged
