All these tips and drills that I’m giving you are based upon the way that the body moves it’s not just my bright idea so if I explained that wrist coock is 90° that’s because that’s the way the human body is made if my thumb was long for instance I would overswing so when

Our grip and posture are neutral our wrists are cocking to 90° our forearms are rolling 90° and our shoulders are turning that’s way the body is made and it coincides with the way the golf ball flies one of the factors is knee Flex the amount of knee Flex you have

Affects the speed and accuracy of your golf swing so let me explain something to you about the way the knees work if I offer the club and lean forward to build my grip I can now take my stance now I’m going to lock my legs rigid you can see that my posture is

Extreme now what’s interesting I can bend my knees one 2 3 in and I haven’t lost any height but in the fourth or fifth inch I then start to drop so we’re all made like that if I stand to you sideways I’m 5′ n I’ve locked my knees

Rigid I can go one 2 3 in I’m still 5′ n but now in the fourth inch I’m going to start to drop so you’re only allowed to flex your knees as far as the point where you start to drop you mustn’t go beyond that point so let’s show you that I lean

Forward now as exercise lock your knees and go one two three that’s fine one more inch I start to stoop and start to sit down that’s bad for my back it’s bad for the golf shot all right so here we go club grip shoulders that’s all the

KNE Flex that I need now when I lad my shoulder my knee is still flexed a little bit and from there I can release free notice at the end of the Swing I’m still on a slightly flexed left knee so it’s rather like the suspension in the car

You don’t want the suspension too soft nor too hard and knee Flex is like that for the golfer you only need 3 in of knee Flex the moment you start to drop you’ve gone too far

  1. So knee flex is about maintaining your height. How does that affect with shorter irons where the posture is more bent at the waist?
