The Riviera Country Club will once again play host to the PGA TOUR’s best as The Genesis Invitational tees off this week. The Genesis Invitational is the first of three player-hosted invitationals (along with the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament presented by Workday). Tiger Woods is the host this week but will also be in the field. This will be his first start since the Masters Tournament in 2023 – where he withdrew after the third round. Last season’s Genesis Invitational was his last full four-round effort on the PGA TOUR before injury. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to action after a strong finish in last week’s WM Phoenix Open. He claimed T3 in his attempt to become the first player to three-peat on the PGA TOUR since Steve Stricker in 2009-11. Scheffler finished 12th at The Genesis last season. Rory McIlroy is set to make just his second TOUR start in 2024 after a T66 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This will be McIlroy’s eighth start at Riviera. He finished 29th last season and claimed a career-best of fourth at Riviera in 2019. Others to look out for are Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele.

Few miles from here at UCLA and it’s aggressive play with a dri you see more players at 3-wood than they do driver because the Fairway does stop down the bottom about 310 welcome highlights from Patrick klay’s round 208 to go into the opening par five here from the rough becomes much
Harder just kind of take what he gives you that’s on the back Fringe it’s going to get a little bit [Applause] better and that’s a good break right at the first hole opening hole this one gets pretty quick around the hole at least he’s seen Tom Kim and all
Ahead of him saw how it reacted that was a misjudgment yeah not nearly enough it’s well done a little more work than he wanted but yeah there’s no question guys and he’s hit a pretty good one down the right side it’s going to be flirting with that bunker
Possibly UCLA right across the 405 on Sunset take you back earlier today right along the right side of the Fairway here Frank fresh off of bird at the par five first that pin is tucked nicely on the left distance and control he’s a very bright person and he just has a good demeanor
For for golf at the highest level klyy Hoops it short riding just TR to chase some sort of draw back there so let’s see what Patrick decides to do just started out a little bit to the right yeah and like I said Graham the the first group through here they all
Went with your approach they took it right at the pin knowing that if they just missed they had a pretty easy up and down can’t L I think it got the little landed a little bit right and now he has about a in his first four holes very quick straight down the
Hill you don’t often see a lot of twos here at the 67 last year 14 under and route to a third place finish here he’s off to another nice start Today that’ll be a nice birdie look for him Rivier got the putter going here at six perfectly judged what a start four under through the first six so making that left side a little bit more easy to take on look like he’s leaning right you catch that heavy sound like thank you
This at the eighth to keep it going I love this green you hardly ever get a straight part some go straight in [Applause] though that’s well out to the right in eucalyptus trees can’t at the par five yeah fortunate to grab that lie I tell you what he went down got it put
A lot of Club face on that at Joe laava said it should be good wow guess what it was you love to to find the right line but more importantly you want the correct pace which that [Applause] qualifies it makes it even tougher for Tom cam you know he feels like like he’s
Probably playing a pretty decent game of golf today and then he’s playing with the two guys that are both tied for the lead and it makes it that much more frustrating having Advantage here at Riviera but I don’t know Graham some pretty good ones by the name of Hogan
Have fared pretty well around here he like to hit a little curling fade off the te yeah there’s lot of ways to do it around here the biggest thing is just getting the ball in play and however you can do that that’s the main thing here out at
Riviera Patrick Klay having a really good day so far tied at the top this from 136 yeah front left hole location so a great t- shot to find the Fairway here really tack this flag great distance control from C he’ll have that to be the first player to get to Seven
Underpar just inside 9 ft to get to Seven under par yeah in an ideal spot straight down the hill do not give the hole away seven birdies through 13 holes is really impressive at Rivier it’s a very narrow green the 14th flag is being protected by that front
Bunker pretty wise shot there center of the green gotten close at a top three top four in this event in the past this at 14 got 124t of pucks he’s still going too I know thanks for watching watching the PJ Tour on YouTube watch another video right here

Ridiculous round – money bags
Looks like Zalatoris is definitely back. He was impressive tee to green at The Farmers. Great start fro Cantlay who targeted this event.
Will Z is as exciting as a wet sponge 🧽
