So, what’s my background?

Well, as most professional golfers my dream was to play professionally. However, that dream was a little lofty for someone with my talent. So, I decided to take a different route. This route was to investigate the science behind getting better, specially how to hit the ball further! After all, who doesn’t want to hit the ball further.

This desire to learn how to increase swing speed lead me to investigate the body in terms of golf fitness and golf biomechanics. This interest in golf fitness lead me to complete TPI Level 1 and 2; become a qualified massage therapist and then extend that knowledge by completing a Masters degree.

During my Masters, I focused my research solely on increasing club head speed through golf fitness interventions. This line of scientific enquiry provided me with first evidence and golf fitness routines which would increase swing speed and hence increase club head speed. Personally, I found this research to be extremely helpful, and I increased club head speed by 15mph (from 100mph to 115mph) within 1 year.

After this I have turned my attention to the biomechanics of the golf swing. This combination of golf biomechanics and golf fitness knowledge allows me to provide coaching to all levels to help increase club head speed.

Bryson D Shambo has a couple of secret moves at setup that enable him to absolutely bomb the ball so the first thing we want to look at is look at Bryson’s mouth no this is subtle and very very different but can you see how Bryon keeps that mouth open at setup

Pretty unusual bet that’s something that not a lot of you guys at home do but what that does it really relaxes the muscles through the neck and through the traps now when you do that it enables you to rotate a little bit better through that survical spine if you can

Rotate better you can have a wider Arc a longer Arc and generate more speed also by keeping that mouth open what he does is he’s not creating a lot of tension and think about it this way if you were boxing or fighting think martial arts would you be really tense and squeeze

Your muscles no you’d be very very relaxed Now by opening that mouth and relaxing that jaw it allows Bryson to be a little bit more athletic and create those pulsing movements that generate a lot of speed very very subtle but it’s a sort of biomechanical principle that if

We get that jaw too tight through tension then it will inhibit our ability to create power and speed now the second thing I want to show you with Bryson’s swing or set up specifically is look at that trail heel so the trail heel is off the ground what Bryson will do is lift

That heel up then slam it down what that does it really loads that trail hip watch lift up and then slams down it creates momentum loads that trail hip as he moves into back swing and then lifts that left heel up it’s a momentum thing but it also creates some ground force in

The back swing to help generate the speed in the downswing those are a couple of very very subtle things that Bryson does but they all add up to generate in upwards of a 200 miles an hour ball speed very very impressive from Bryson
