Way the game is evolving that’s for sure oh absolutely and yes so I mean the great thing is you’ve got you know controlled weather environment you know you you know and we can play a lot more that way you can play a lot more and you

Can play a lot quicker that way too right you can play 18 holes in a short space of time so right so you go ahead just let’s have a look see how we do so we can see a little bit of a a separation as we start there when I say

Separation you see how look at your left arm see how it sort of moves away from the Torso look at the gap between your hands and your body there you see how that increases I do see that yeah all right okay you have to distinguish the

Cause and effect so you can say well I don’t like the position here or I don’t like the position there okay now is that the is that the result or is that the cause okay so right so you know you sort of moved the club out you’ve rolled it

Back a little here okay then there’s a little bit of a lift okay what yeah so you actually end up in a pretty good position so it’s like so if I just stop you there it would look pretty good the biggest key in any golf swing is what we call synchronization how you

Synchronize the arm motion okay arm hand and Club I call the hack hands arm and Club okay the hack motion and the body motion because those are the two components that really need to be timed yeah because if you look here okay if you look at the top there some say

You’re perfect why why why do you care about anything else okay but it’s not it’s not so much that the position’s bad it’s just that the route that you gone on so like if you were flying back to New York yeah okay you wouldn’t really want to go through Dallas no you know

What I’m saying you you’d get there in the end but it’ take you a while right okay so it’s not the most efficient route to go okay so the point the point being is that you need to make the most efficient route that you can the problem is if you’re

Going it’s like you’re almost having to wait for the club to sort of do its thing before you start to go so what happens now watch watch what happens now watch how steep this CH transition is you see this a change of Direction there yes ideally that sha should be about

There so geometrically you’re a little off okay and it’s only because of it’s that you know so it’s wouldn’t be any good just say just shallow a little bit more you’ll be fine I mean you can’t just shallow right okay it’s like it’s the horse is bolted okay okay yeah so

Now so what you do now you actually get the club in a good position but you’ve actually slowed everything down to a point where the club’s got behind you you can see that look here yes see see look see at this point your body should be here but your brain is telling you

We’re not in position there we can’t go here because if you did this if somebody said you know what but you need to be much more open here what you do I promise you you’d hit the ball 50 yards right right okay so your instincts

Are to slow down wait for this to catch up you see it’s a timing game yeah okay does that make sense and that’s what leads to the inconsistency the time and so getting to the sort of the the gist of it you need to find a more efficient

Route to the top the less complicated your swings the better I can agree with you there so here we go so now you can see so look at your low Point here your low Point’s going to be behind the wall that’s why you didn’t hit that’s why

You’re a sweeper look yeah look there see that look how Square you are see mean hot you know you’re very I mean almost to a point where look you’ve actually stood up on it look you see how I look you what they call early extension you know how you sort of yeah

Okay and that’s one way you slow your body down so the club can catch up so so much of what you see is the effect I mean in teaching if you’re try to fix the effect you’re going to be there until God knows when right okay it’s like it’s just it’s

It’s almost impossible plus the fact it takes a lot of brain power to actually think about okay well come on don’t stand up on it stay over it there shallow it out there I mean You’ got five thoughts and that’s on your down swing yeah in a half a second yeah right

Exactly exactly so now from here it’s your move away here because you see you see already at this point this club should already be okay so if you’re doing this your Club should your Club should probably be two yards further back into the swing if it moves on an efficient

Route and that’s why I brought this little train a out for the straightaway okay because the straightaway it perfects your takeaway okay because your takeaway believe you me is the most important move in the swing okay so yes you can I mean because your grip is actually pretty good I

Looked at that your posture looks really pretty good but your first move is the thing that and it’s funny because that’s kind of the last thing I thought of yeah I’ve seen on tape my my early extension everything and I’m trying to solve it from the top I’m trying to you know way

Too late we can do it much earlier yeah if you it’s the golf swing is like a domino effect okay you get a good first the first move you know arold Palmer said it 100 years ago whatever it was okay said the most important move in the

Swing is the first two feet okay so if you are wrong there you’re going to be compensating so where do we start to fix this take okay well here we’ll start right here you know all the greats I’ve Had The Good Fortune to work with we’ve worked extremely hard on the takeaway

And actually I hate the term takeaway i’ I’ve always used the word move away because you’re moving the club away you’re not taking it away Tak it away implies that you’re taking use your hands now I’ve actually had to go use that term in the last year or so since

We’ve had this thing out because nobody understands what moveaway is everybody understand okay I understand the takeaway you know right so you find it’s a very common area of struggle common I would say you can pretty much Source 90% of Swing errors back to the takeaway prise you that’s pretty because it’s

Like it’s it’s like it’s it either gets better or gets worse when it goes on as it goes on like you said that aro effect yeah right so take your addresser we’re going to just dress the ball normally yeah so just now we’re going to relax

These Arms a little bit okay yeah so here’s the deal okay so just close your eyes again so I’m going to describe to you where yours tends to go okay so yours go okay so so look where the yellow pointing here do you see where that is

Yes okay now watch here now couple of things keep this arm your lead arm left arm connected to your chest okay I want you to move your core okay so watch here so essentially just it’s almost like it’s an oblique movement but you’re moving your belly button to start the

Back swing okay if you ask Ernie Al I’ve worked with for years how he starts his back to me I’ll tell you with my belly button cuz with my belly button okay right so dress the ball so that’s that move away that’s the move away exactly

So it’s like if I could have uh hey chugo I need that medicine ball the golf club weighs a pound so it’s easy to manipulate now okay now you grab something like that okay right so just really that okay put it down here now watch so because it’s because you

Feel a little more weight there you feel this more involved w’t you okay so keep a little more connection here there we go that’s it now what you feel that yeah I do so you see you know basically see this would be your Club face right okay so if

Anything your hand and your butt end of the club will actually get closer to your right leg they don’t get further away just because there’s a little weight attach to it it’s a lot easier to feel than if you’ve just got a one pound club and I could see how it would be

Harder to do what I was doing with that because I’m getting out away from my body exactly so now all right so keep the arms relaxed okay because we remember the tighter the arms are the more emphasis they’ll have in moving the club back okay you keep your arms

Relaxed okay now you move your middle now watch as we go back then good now H have a look there so the B of the club has got closer to you this is connected yeah and this this is this is the key with this little magic Gadget as we call

It is that this at this point where the butt of the club does not get past your right hip pocket is parallel to the club on the ground can you feel that yes I see that down when you look at it it actually should look slightly to the

Inside of it too y okay now from here okay so normally at this point you’d be over there so right right and with this pointing right so here now we just complete your back swing that’s it now I don’t think you’re going to have it’s going to look a whole lot different at

The top but the way you got there is a whole lot different yeah okay so do that again okay okay so just relax your arms move your middle look who this is D okay good hold that can you feel the difference I do okay so let’s look here I want to show

You something okay all right there’s the go how’s that for a perfect model you see how close the B of the club is yeah so the gap between think of it you got a small circle that your hands move on a big circle the club head moves on

Right essentially the small circle stays inside the big circle yours yours crosses over within the first couple of feet so you’re really your takeaway is really inefficient it’s not that you you know you got a bad golf swing and it as the cups you know get

Into the long hands and becomes more of a problem because when you’re back here and trying to hit a long iron it’s not easy is yeah could IA where we want you yeah I want you open up and more on top of the ball but you’re never going to

Get there until you synchronize better think about this why is it there so many players today actually rehearse that first move it’s true when we’re watching on Sunday that’s we’re seeing that it’s unbelievable yeah unbelievable I mean I mean so many more players now it’s what

I call the modern waggle you know I mean the waggle in the old days was just what just to get release tension yeah now it’s actually to get Club get your hands tracking get your Cub head tracking and more than anything else it gets your timing right so let’s do this again this

Is and this is how you want to learn to hit balls like this so relax the arms so the arms are soft and you just move it in just check it you you know you can do the number it doesn’t matter how many times you

Do hold it there that way there you see where that is there yeah so your goal we move the ball out is to okay look back where a ball would be complete your back swing and swing through and you will start to feel okay do this again because you can start to already

Incorporate this so let’s it there that’s perfect right now now you complete it now your goal as you start as you start to move guess what the club’s going to be with you keep going keep going and as you start to move correctly this is this should actually

Start to shallow this out can you feel that yeah I can now from there you just turn your body through so impact now yeah there we go yeah you can start to post up in this leg you can get can get this more open this more open

And all of a sudden guess what your impact position now moves further forward rather than being behind the ball yep so that’s the theory does that make sense yeah and what’s incredible to me is that it’s so much of it’s just set up by that first move you can’t believe

I mean it’s like honestly you get the first move right you can do sorts itself out more or less wow here’s a little test watch it work it back good okay now now turn your feet around and face me get your feet completely opposite me there you go put it down it’s still

Square same position all you’re doing is Shifting your dress position so the swing really starts from here and so that maintains that club face better too yeah you maintains Club face and the thing is then because you’re more synced up in other words because you got a

Shorter root you because your body your body is waiting for the club to catch up that’s why everything slows down stands up lose power you get here you can keep moving because you know your club’s going to be with you all right so get there stop all right now Carry On and

Here so absolutely normal for that to happen why because your body’s still in the old mode right okay so now now start to get your body rotating and your body actually squares the club up it’s your body it’s like imagine having a club sticking out of your belly

Button and it’s like as you rotate through that’s what’s squaring the face off it’s not having you to do having to do this but you got to realize impact is very instinctive right so you’ve created those that metrix yes to basically offset where you’re’ being so now okay

You’ve got to do some things like okay take your dress and just just literally okay get to here right I’ve complet your back spring good now watch come down now let’s see here right come on come right so just just mimic impact it hold that thing that’s it just hold it there look

Where you are that’s there you are right there you see what see I mean that’s I mean that’s completely different looking impact position for you it is I mean because you’re normally there Square on right but that start I promise you everything else is the after effect of

The way you’ve started and the way the club is traveling I mean it’s a reaction my eye goes to two areas when I look at trying to help somebody one is the setup okay because the setup obviously predetermines what you’re going to be doing in your swing and the second is

That first move away because I can guarantee you that you sort that those two you know fortunately you say you’re setup and your uh and your group everything that’s fine yeah but the star is where you need your work because if you get this you know you’ll see won’t

Take you long I me you’re a good athlete let’s see do it do it again best one yet yeah that one felt more like it yeah now you got to sort of rewire yourself to a point where okay I’ve got to get this to match this now okay where this
