So Mana we’re going to talk about the movement of the arms in the transition moving down to impact and a lot of players are trying to come from the inside right correct they might move at the top they might get a steep struggle with pull Cuts just big slices out to

The right and we were just talking about before how you had a recent lesson you kind talking about feeling that the arms if we just let them fall from the top of the Swing they have a certain path or Direction correct to where they then will make their way down to the golf

Ball whereas we see the amateur spinning open with the shoulders yeah now if you can just understand what the body does naturally and this is a good example you just drop in your Club on the ground there sure and and get to a back swing position for me just make a back swing

If I just come and I hold your shoulders mhm if you just drop your arms where where are they where are they naturally falling yeah they’re going to go what feels like more of anout but a lot of golf when I ask them to to to get there in that same position

And make a back swing and I hold their shoulders the initial movement is like it’s like a driving it down yeah it’s like a pull so if you can get yourself in that back swing position and just feel hey this is what my body does naturally don’t you think we will then

Be more from that inside and ultimately hitting probably the ball further because you got that draw spin on it where most amateurs I mean we we see it they just kind of like get a bit upper body strong want to doesn’t want to spin

Out of it so if you can feel likey maybe give that the hand the hands the head start on the way down yeah and understanding the sequencing of maybe let the shoulders be the captain in the back swing mhm let those arms start to down swing then that right knee right

Hip can start kicking in and all of a sudden we probably got a change of path then I feel I feel like a lot of players are hesitant to do that because they think that is the cause of them getting correct uh Scoopy the arms bunching but

Essentially what happens is the chest is the engine for the back swing and then what does need to occur is the arms need an element of unloading so they actually get back in front of the center line of the chest which then as everything then moves towards the golf ball then we get

Into this position that you see with the probe but most amateurs as a general thumb don’t turn that much in the back swing correct and then they go well I don’t want to scoop it and I’m going to then try and rotate and then before you

Know it your Club is so far out of position with hand eye coordination chop down they then will then start to extend and stand up cuz the face is too open it just leads to a plethora of mistakes right so what say when we are looking at

The feeling and I love exactly what you said there of just like getting to the top and almost feeling that the arms are falling I’ve got a great little drill that I use with a lot of players is actually try and get them from the top

Of the Swing try and get the club head touching the ground as far back behind them as possible yeah right to give them that sense of feel to get that sensation yeah because certainly not coming over the top from this position no definitely not from the inside but it’s also just

Feeling like you just give their hands maybe the Head Start yeah yeah and I think it’s it’s it’s important to remember that if You’ got a nail and a piece of wood here right you don’t pick a hammer up and then drive down with your elbow to try and get the Hammerhead

Back to the nail definitely not you are lifting the hammer up and even though it is preceded by a sequence of the arm and then the wrist the intention is to get the Hammerhead hitting the nail correct right so that would be the same as from

The top of the Swing as my body is pivoting and rotating then the arms and the club head is making its way back down yep and then in sequence everything would move through together I think that’s quite interesting for players to see in slow motion 100% no definitely because you

Can’t two things do need to come together you we we’re not asking you to to pull it down yeah that’s going to obviously invite a whole different other other things but if we can just understand like you said let that chest be the engine let’s get ourselves

Turning that’s the that’s the big thing first if we don’t turn that’s going to obviously cause all other issues let that arm feel like hey let’s just I think Rory said it where he gets his right shoulder to feel like he’s relaxing and that gets his gets his Club

To drop now it’s difficult to ask your your day-to-day golfer to relax his right shoulder I don’t think even I can do it but when I make that golf swing I just feel like right let my hands just start it’s maybe that 20 cm drop just

Feel like hey if I can start that movement now I can come down it’s on from the inside and now clear a rotation now if I just turn I’m probably going to get to the position I want to not quite that over the top but more from that inside B I

Think a great feel and visualization for people is to get the Sensation that they’re Gathering speed right so for example they’re just waiting for the ability to then release it through the golf ball rather than from the top of the Swing Swinging with all abandonment down straight that the the golf ball we

Can see how the shoulders will spin out and the club moves across so I think that feeling exactly what you said of just letting the hands and arms fall beneath before we and I think like even without using props I think it’s just a great exercise

For players to feel let’s go back of the right shoulder behind us for the right hander feel like the arms fall down to Club shaft parallel correct and then and then move through let’s let’s hit one doing that let’s see how we’re going in the lab here so back of the right

Shoulder behind arms fall down they’re nice and soft and then following through now that was a beautiful little Chip Shot there and as we could see the ball curve from right to left which would say that the face is closed correct correct which means that we certainly weren’t

Coming over the top and getting too steep were we correct was obviously would have a whole different shape there but just understanding the path would obviously just by you coming in from the from a whole different path more from the inside that will already put right

To left spin on on it if you’re going to start obviously maybe like you’ve done they maybe close the club face too much it will hook too much but you got the stronger PA the same as a four hand tener shot and you got you got that Top

Spin kind of ball in it so for a lot of amage just chasing distance maybe yeah it’s it’s just a great way to understand a this is what your body does naturally mhm B gives you a little bit more distance yeah all right but it’s now

Just drilling it in and from so that feel what you’ve just done making that back swing feel like hey let’s get this club kind of like parallel with the ground we’re not we’re not obviously spinning open and getting from the other side yeah and then you can turn through for it from

There I think being patient is probably a key word there so let’s just do a couple more reps of these then I’ll finish up with just a shot down there feel like the arms are falling nice and relaxed follow through feel so easy to get the golf club back in front of me

Feels so easy to get the path out to the right let’s hit one and see how it comes off love then
