Tendency which makes it really difficult for everything thing to get back down online and right right back in through and so what we’re going to what What’s Happening Here in general for your golf swing is you’re kind of there’s a part of you that wants to get more by going

Up higher and farther and that gives you a feeling of being able to pull down harder but it doesn’t take care of what we want to do with a golf swing which is to really let things rotate outwards from the spin of our body so anytime we

Have an excessive lift that means our impulse is going to be hey I’m going to try to pull down for force and again it feels powerful you can use your can use your lots and you can use your kind of your biceps and your triceps to like

Create a lot of energy but that’s a that’s kind of self- defeats what you want to do with a golf swing and so it’s pretty extreme in your golf swing as well so would love to see that just even move a little bit back in a in a in a

Better Direction so like as a right-hander that would look like this Y and and and again it’s good good good good but then right about here I’m trying to get higher and higher and higher and then I’m trying to shift the head and kind of like really move this

Down all we really need to do is get this into a spot where things can fall and then we want to feel like we’re rotating it out okay and so we’re going to use the pro to give you an exercise to really help you start to develop and

See that more clearly and we’ll work that we’ll work that right back into your golf club okay cool yep all right so let’s grab your uh let’s grab your pro here you go the customized Pro customized Bruce Brower we love it okay so what I want what I want to see here

In in this exercise is I’m going to have you I’ll do this as a lefty actually so from your from your perspective so we’re going to we’re going to hold the pro like so so instead of kind of going with our normal we’re going to start with our

Your your right hand or your lead arm like this then we’re going to put your left hand underneath and we’re just going to kind of stretch that out a little bit and first thing I want you to do is I just we just want you to keep

Everything kind of in front of you and just naturally turn up like so till you make like what feels like kind of your full range of motion no lifting needed whatsoever just turn and wherever that ends up is great okay and then from here what we want to do we’ve got we’ve now

Got the golf club and the pro in a position where you actually can see it’s kind of L back behind you so it’s nowhere near where you’re actually putting the golf Hill because of its rigidity and the Pro won’t go there because it just can’t like you can’t

Manipulate it that way so we’re going to hold that thing back out and then what I want you to do is I want you to simply just let it go and kind of follow through your through your swing like so because you have such a pronounced shift

This way what we’re going to do is we’re going to try to stay closed and we’re just going to let this fall down in front like so so you can kind of pump down like this mhm and then right when you feel that starting just let it go

And pass you and then let it pull you back up so we’re accommodating a lot of the things that creates a lot of the or that that uh solving a lot of things that kind of creat some problems in your swing okay this yeah that’s good just

Right right there just right there as you are okay so yeah so kind of bring that up so first thing I want you to do is just let everything just kind of fall back down yeah good excellent awesome beautiful very good okay good now in your next three I want you to I

Want you to feel like you’re initia that feeling of it’s letting go and returning but as you as you come down off the top just simply let the let the cylinder go now you’re going to be tempted to kind of pull on it try not to pull on it try to

Almost feel like you’re pushing a a kid in a playground swing you’re going to just let it go and carry you through it won’t go very fast so just let let it let it uh let its kind of natural Rhythm dictate your motion speed excellent do you want me to ride all the

Way up the other side that’s fine just concentrate on transition and and wherever you wherever you end up naturally is fine cuz this is the the part of the Swing where things are really like going a little Haywire for you is back there that’s awesome very good excellent beautiful I love how straight

You’re keeping the pro too because if you were really trying to like Force this you start you start putting a you start putting a bend on it the skill of getting the best swing from the pro is learning how to keep all the components in alignment so this is a nice little

Shortcut to doing that you’ve got that skill down really well excellent okay good let’s shift to a golf club so what we got here got a pitching wedge perfect with the golf club I want you to do ex pretty much exactly the same thing okay except you’re not going to hold the

Head of the club hold it kind of where you normally put your grip on and just hold it kind of maybe about where the center of the club is so right there few inches above the the hosle and same thing just up couple times just letting

It fall back down nice and easy and then when you feel like you’re ready same thing just let go of the golf club and let it kind of pull you up and through main thing I want you to really be aware of is that when you make this movement

Look where the club is starting from yep and look how effortlessly it just it just traces what you did with the front is there any pushing going on from the top of the club no try try yes you don’t you won’t need to the pro like is so light like it

Almost helps to give it a little kick but by and large is is like we just don’t want you to we don’t want you to feel like you have to pull on anything cuz pulling is kind of what’s getting you in trouble it’s actually the intent

To pull has been shaping your back swing for you so if we can if we can understand what it’s like to not pull and let motion do the work so as it falls when you let go now that thing is going to extend for you okay good let’s let a couple go

Now excellent so that’s a beautiful track that that Golf Club really wants to move on excellent and your body’s supporting it very naturally so notice you’re not like outracing it m excellent very good okay good now go two hands regular grip and I want you just to return to that same spot so

Watch the golf club go up same spot and then see if you can feel the same thing with two hands it’s going to be a little different but can we can we actually get the golf club to trace a similar spot yep and let it come on down very good excellent

Excellent doing without watching it this time now I kind of keep working through the progression good that’s very different yeah very good I like that you actually I saw a little bit of softness and kind of dropping into that movement there good now if I put a ball in front

Of you will it stay together maybe right maybe okay good so the Keith here like if I want to if I want to really ingra ingrain this as a as a practicer I got two thing two things that are my enemy of course my my how hard I want to hit

It as one of my enemies so I need to make sure I can do the movement so you’ve already proven to me with the pro with the club all the exercises look great you’re you’re you’re demonstrating a a physical ability to do the movement and very gracefully and very fluidly the

Need to push this ball though is the difference so we have to convince ourselves in golf that we’re never trying to push the club for power and when we when we feel like we can push a club it kind of translates back to like well if I start with a hard pull it’s

Easier to give it more of a push so it becomes kind of more like a weightlifting kind of mentality I want that simple movement that you’re doing right there that’s simply letting it fall and extend to strike the golf ball for me so what we want to do is we want

To put this up on a t let me get a couple T’s out of here all right good so now now we want to now we want to bring the ball so but before we do that I want you to make sure you get a couple rehearsals in and I want a rehearsal

Between each golf ball too so I don’t want to go rapid fire on this one actually we’re going to we’re going to re re reestablish it anytime that you’re working on any movement pattern you always want to make sure that you’re using your eyes to help you okay so

Watching the task which is for you it’s we’re elim trying to eliminate this this this habit I need to make sure I have a visual on this okay so when you yeah go back do you want me to do one of these yes exactly so let’s start let’s start

Let’s start with one of those and then we’ll do it with two and then we’re just going to I want you to go at the pace where you know you can do it well okay very good so we’re not going to go any faster than that it’s not going to De

Triggers the motor skill that’s the most kind of strong and Grave now was that better than other ones for sure like it was less so that’s we’d always want to be understanding that we’re progressing and what we’re progressing to uh to a new uh a new way of movement so it

Doesn’t happen like all of a sudden oh I got it and it stays it now stays in the new spot it needs to start to drift more and more so you can always feel mentally that you you need to almost do more with the golf balls there or feel like it

Feels a little more extreme I need to use my eyes more but yes anytime you rehearse you need to you need to use your eyes now you can try to use your eyes while you’re hitting the shot some people find that very uncomfortable if you can do that I’m I’m good with that

As well would you recommend that I do that I’m I’m I’m okay with it I I can go both ways on the bottom line is that just you need to get enough reps in that you know you can do it well okay so for for for the training sake will do not me

Not looking at it when the ball’s there so let yeah let’s let’s stay let’s stay on that so let’s let’s let’s complete these last two here you got it yep there’s my movement excellent excellent so yeah you have a good visual of what your Club needs to

Do and we’ll see there’s a little bit of a little bit of a break on that one as well too rhythmically really good though and like a lot of the body structure actually is staying together so the golf club is just wandering it’s picking up it’s picking picking up so big the big

Question for you is like is there can you feel that when you do it that one I felt more okay good cuz that was more Extreme More tipped yeah so that was more that was more extreme than the that was more extreme than the first one okay

So what I want you to feel like you can do on this last ball here shorter sure take away some of the range cuz you’re traveling farther than you think you are in an effort to get more out of it and I don’t need to get more out of it I just

You just kind of fall back to your your Center Point there your hips and everything else are moving they’re moving in the way we want it to go and then now you now you can build in and let the pro extend good that was a little bit pulled

Through maybe you can kind of feel that good this I’ll show you the difference here cuz I didn’t do this there we go yeah so it’s all about always about letting it ride past you a little bit so specifically with and I learned this actually the other day specifically with

This drill in the Pro if you push the kid on the swing that way you’re in trouble that’s much swing yeah you you really don’t even need to push it like once you’re going it has energy it’s just not going very fast so just be

Patient to Let It Go Again the pro has some air resistance it helps slow you down a little bit to like really experience your movement deeper good excellent little more letting it extend at the bottom too don’t be afraid to hit one of those balls there there we go

Good so the more the more it feels like it has a freedom to get a farther distance from you okay and your body feels like it’s countering that perfect that’s the energy of a golf swing it’s a it’s equal and opposite around your line of gravity very good for the experience

Of the golfer though it feels like you’re waiting for it to get by you does that make sense most of us are playing from way too far ahead of the Swing there you go that’s a nice equally Balan motion love it very good okay good let’s

Go put that back in the context of the golf club and the same movement yeah exactly let it get in front of you first and then then let it go yeah yeah just yeah just do just do just do a couple maybe a couple dropin again very

Good very good you just let yourself fall into it yep always always cultivating a sense of a lack of restriction in the body good let’s let yeah let’s do a couple and let it swing on its own or let it let it just like you’re doing with the pro

Thinking about body parts start thinking about body parts you start moving them independently and what you’re experiencing is that hey a golf swing or golf motion it’s a whole body motion it has a simultaneity to it you can you can say it has a Time cycle to it but

Everything’s happening at once that really never is a start and a stop it just flows all the way through so when you see it though you’re actually watching it like a movie so now it’s like oh okay yeah there’s an order there’s a Time cycle to the movie it has

A a beginning and an end but it’s I’m never ever thinking about how the parts stitch together and that’s that’s where that’s where I need to be so my question to you is this if if if my visual cues are over done over and over and over again well that slowly replace what’s

Already built in there is that the way to do it so yeah so this what I would say now is like so when you go back to not looking at it can you still picture it so this is the interesting thing about about the way our brain and Vision

Works is that our brain doesn’t necessarily know if we’re seeing it it can visualize you can shut your eyes and you can picture something very very very detailed and if I can go into that picture Center my motor skills are actually like responding to that so like you’re very skilled with swinging the

Pro your skill became from not looking at the ground but watching it and so you have like a this whole this whole new possibility for golf swing that’s built on actually knowing where it is I just have another golf swing that’s built on wondering where it is and trying to make

The ball go the Target and so like that it’s that it’s it’s it’s learning how to like get to to to make a break from that path that’s why nobody nobody changes their swing fast if you will it constantly goes you have to you have to

You have to go through that process but if you always go to feel feels last for a day like oh I got the feel today now you had a better picture then the next day you went out and thought about how to feel it and you couldn’t do it again

And that’s like that’s that that happen so if you constantly check in with your visual over and over and then use the visual without like seeing it so like I like on this let’s do one more set and let’s bring it into the visual now so

Like when you go back to I don’t want you you can watch the practice swing let’s not watch the actual do you want to do the pro first again yeah yeah let’s go let’s go through the whole process again I’ll get the ball ready you can start with the

Better very good okay that was that was impressive all right very good so that is your process stick to it stick yeah you got to stick to it yeah and I know it’s slow but that you actually affected change without going to the habit of feeling so I think we learned something

That’s really important is that when I try to feel I’m worse right when I use the picture I’m better yeah all right man because my picture for me especially now like when I go back and look at this thing it feels like it’s back over my left shoulder okay before my normal

Swing feels like it’s more up here yeah okay so now I just picture it going back over my left shoulder and I get that exactly cuz you know it like you know so that’s just the matter so you just keep repeating keep repeating every day it

Gets a little bit better good work all right Man Oh
