Welcome back to the channel guys as you know a few months ago I received the brand new app launch monitor which you can see right behind me and after months of testing I’m finally ready to give my full review if you watch my first video you know that true golf has claimed to

Club their instantaneous launch monitor response time and all the ball and Club data they offer they may be right starting off with space constraints one of the things I love about the apogee is it only sits 22 in in front of you so that takes the ability of a Skyball

Hitting the device pretty much out of the equation now there is chances that it will bounce and hit it but they have built this thing so sturdy I’m not afraid of any ball hitting into the device it’s built that well with other devices they sit 3 ft in front of you

Which definitely gets me worried that a Skyball could hit that transitioning to technology which is one of the biggest things about this unit starting with the AI voice control what I love about this is I never have to touch my mouse I can tell the apogee where to aim to pull up

My shot data and I’m not taking the time to run back and forth which is a huge timesaver and it’s just really cool the second thing I love about the apigy is the responsiveness this thing will read your ball and display it on the screen within onethird of a second which is

Insane it feels like the most realistic golf simulator experience because the ball transitions to the screen so quickly it makes me feel like I’m playing more on the actual course their overhead CER cameras are a great feature and while this is kind of standard in those overhead launch monitors it’s just

A necessity to have to be able to see your Club coming through through impact is just such a good tool especially for those visual Learners and then finally the ability to get Club data without the use of specialty stickers is a game Cher especially if you’re going to have a lot

Of people over or run a business now one caveat with that the device will definitely read your Club data better with the stickers so if you are the primary owner of the unit I always recommend getting the club stickers and putting them on your club and where trof

Tells you to put them they want you to put them high on the toe so if you’re righty and looking at the face of your Club you’re talking the top left portion moving on to accuracy of the device the big question right for right around $9 $110,000 and the ability to get $1,000

Off with code golf Busters 10 how accurate is it going to be and I can tell you it is extremely ACC accurate originally if you watch my first look you know that I thought carry was spot on but thought the spin might have been a little bit off now after more testing

I have found the spin to be spoton with trackmen foresight units and essentially exactly what I would expect the only reason I thought it was a little low for most clubs is some devices showcase total spin which without getting too into it is always going to be a little

Higher than backspin the apog is going to tell you backspin and side spin so when I was looking at Back Spin numbers I was thinking about total spin which is always going to be a little bit higher than Back Spin but once I factored that into the equation spin was exactly what

I would expect but there is one big accuracy tip you need to know the true golf apigy reads logos to get that spin numbers so one of the things that can happen once your ball speeds get very fast above 135 M hour what can happen is

If you just have a blank part of the ball facing in up and you’re hitting the ball very fast sometimes the ball can move out of the screen before a logo appears so for most people above 135 ball speed is just the driver and so

What you need to do for this and very very important is you need to make sure when you’re teeing up that shot you have a logo facing up and then you want the logo parallel to the screen so if you have that let’s say Titleist logo I want

That parallel to the screen and that gets my spin numbers extremely accurate with the driver now if you’re above 135 ball speed on clubs like 3-wood or hybrid I found when I’m hitting it off the ground just make sure some sort of the logo is facing up and then with

Driver like I said facing up on the t- shot and then parallel to the screen which isn’t a big deal because you’re going to be taking the time to Tee It Up anyway it doesn’t really take extra time to line that logo up parallel and one of

The good things about that that’s really the only little Quirk I would say the device has and if you’re someone who’s like well for $10,000 there shouldn’t be any quirks well I thought that too before I began testing all the launch monitors but I can tell you right now

Every single launch monitor has little things like that it doesn’t matter if they are $2,000 or $20,000 there’s always little things and in terms of little things with a device this is one of the littlest things it’s not a big deal and it can be an easy fix all true

Golf needs to do go talk to Titleist get logos in every quadrant and then boom you don’t have to worry about it anymore and another thing I want to add when I was doing my testing with the ape my three rounds that I played Outdoors on the course were the three lowest

Consecutive rounds I’ve ever had I shot par on nine holes 2 days in a row and then my final 18-hole day was my lowest I’ve ever scored I went plus one on 18 minus one on the front nine and I can tell you it felt like it was because of

The apigy it felt like everything I did on the simulator was exactly what I saw on the course so maybe I was just hot those 3 days but it’s always a a good sign when you shoot your best golf when using a device now my final thoughts on accuracy everything essentially exactly

What I expected the only thing that was a little different driver spin was a little high and I’m not talking much I averaged 18850 total spin the AP was at maybe like 2100 so nothing huge but maybe just a tad pit higher but nothing that I would look at when I’m playing

The game and think anything was off moving on to the price and one of the reasons I love this unit for homeowners and Commercial businesses is you guys can get this for right around 10K maybe a little under 10k depending on the sale you got to use code golf Busters 10

Get their Club data without the use of stickers and it’s just got a lot of fun features that will be perfect for that bar kind of simulator scene moving on to setup fairly easy device to set up I find I need to calibrate it if my lighting changes so for instance really

Bright during the day I go and do the calibration fairly quick to do takes a minute or 2 minutes and then if I’m playing again at night I’ll calibrate it again now that is going to change they’re going to have an auto light feature so once you’ve calibrated it

Once basically all you’ll have to do is Click auto light if you’re playing it at night or during the day and you should be good to go moving on to installation of the device all these overhead units can be a little bit of a bear to install

But this one was fairly simple all you have to do with this one you need to mount the launch monitor around 10 ft off the ground and then you’re going to have a power cord and an ethernet cord ethernet cord needs to run from the device to your computer and then the

Power cord just needs to connect to an outlet now the thing that took a a little while to set it up my projector is kind of right at that 10t range so we had to just take take time to make sure the device was sitting just barely above

Where the projector projected the image but once you have it set up good to go very easy simple process to get the device going moving on to the hitting area of the device you’re going to see it’s like a little green circle you put the ball in there when it’s ready to

Read the circle will go away and then you hit really like this they have a bigger hitting range but if you want that club data it needs to be hit in there so they potentially may open that up in the future and it would be a little nice to have that because hitting

In the same spot every time can kind of wear your Mount down a little quicker but at the end of the day not a big deal and I really like the green laser kind of circle thing that they have going on all right simulator programs and this is

A big one cuz there’s big changes coming with the apog since the apog is made by true golf that is the E6 platform so you’re going to get free E6 connect with it which is awesome because a lot of these other devices you’re paying subscription fees to play courses now I

Don’t love love E6 connect I think there’s some things that other simulator programs do better but the good news very very soon and I’m talking within a week to a couple months they’re releasing their brand new software E6 Apex which if you haven’t seen it the graphics look incredible and they’re

Doing all these things to speed up pace of play which I think with how fast the apog reads it can potentially become a device that you can play 18 holes by yourself in under 30 minutes it’s going to be perfect for a commercial business because if you’re having clients over

You want to get them through their golf round as quick as possible and this device when paired with their new software E6 Apex is going to be able to get you through clients at a very fast rate now let’s talk about responsiveness again cuz I want to talk about just how

Cool this really is if you’ve used other units you know there’s around a second second and a half Delay from when you hit the ball to when it shows up on the screen the apog is incredible it feels like the most realistic simulator experience I’ve had because when you hit

The ball it just goes to the screen so quickly and every time I boot it up and transition from one device to this device I’m like this is just freaking sweet now get closer we’re going to talk about putting everyone wants me to talk about putting it does great on putting

But putting is really the only thing I don’t do an in-depth review on and here’s why putting on a simulator is stupid no matter how good the device you’re never going to get better at putting on a simulator so in our opinion we always think it’s best to take

Putting out and do auto putt features you play more holes faster and you get better at golf quicker and people will enjoy it way more when you’re not putting cuz no one really cares to sit and watch virtual putting transitioning to lefties and righties and as a lefty

Myself this is another reason I love the device to be able to have friends over and not have to move a unit is amazing so you’re looking for lefties and righties apigy great option and speaking of lefties and righties let’s also talk about kids because if you have younger

Kids some of those floor units you’re afraid the kids going to go whack it with a club toss it around Apple it’s mounted overhead kids can’t get to it now let’s talk about quirks of the device like I said every device has them but they’re things you got to know

Because you got to know if is it a deal breaker or is it something that’s not a big deal now the good news I think these are all not big deals but let’s go over them quick number one Quirk when your ball speeds get above 135 mph you got to

Make sure you have a logo facing kind of up towards the cameras driver you want parallel to the screen which for most of you above 135 ball speed is going to be driver and I don’t think that’s a big deal because you’re going to be teeing

Up your ball anyway so it doesn’t really add any time to make the logo’s face parallel to the screen for driver and like I said all your other clubs like three wooden hybrid if you are hitting above 135 ball speed on those just make sure a logo’s facing up and this issue

May be solved in the future because they just need to get a ball that has logos in each quadrant and then you’re good to go the next thing very important with these infrared devices you need to make sure you have a dark colored bur T so

White and red not recommended or a light color you want like black dark green dark blue to read well with the apigy I would recommend black my third Quirk is just make sure you’re using the right firmware generally the latest firmware is always the best but sometimes with

Devices you can have bugs and later firmware but I can confidently say there are firmwares out there that are just spot on all the time with no bugs the point7 2 firmware was really good I’ve been using 78 currently that’s been great by the time you’re watching this

Video it could be a later one but if you’re experiencing bugs just call in and figure out what firmware is best they’ll tell you and then I would just use that firmware now the only like real I guess con I would say of the device

And I think this is going to get fixed very soon because I’m very confident in the support team at true golf apigy is gear effect it doesn’t quite pick up gear effect as well as like those four site devices still picks it up but it’s not perfect now for those of you who

Don’t know what gear effect is basically let’s say you have a club path that is out to in and open should cause a slice but you hit it way on the toe that will actually cause an opposite Spin and a lot of the devices aren’t great at gear

Effect like even the trackman doesn’t pick it up great so not a huge deal and they are working on that so I expect within the month that’s going to get fixed and won’t be an issue but at the time of this video that’s something that they’re working on currently and like

I’ve always said with devices not a huge deal because at the end of the day when you strike it good or semi good it’s reading perfect and then you know if you’re going to strike it that far towards the toe where there is gear effect it’s a bad shot anyway so if I’m

Going to have it be a little bit off I’d want it to be on terrible shots but honestly by the time you’re watching this video I think they’re already going to have the gear effect thing fixed so really I think that will be a non-issue very soon and then finally the only real

Thing I think the app G is missing his angle of attack which they probably will add at some point but that’s just kind of like The Descent or upward angle your Club is traveling that’s something that’s nice to have apog doesn’t have it but it does have so many other data

Points where I’m okay that that one’s currently out would love to see that added in in a little bit speaking of Club data let’s talk about the accuracy of the club data now like I said when the sticker is in the right place kind of that high toe area it’s so accurate

And the good news is you can tell accurate because you can watch the video replay of your club now it’s not as good without the sticker but a lot of devices don’t even pick it up without stickers so it’s good that you’re getting something close and if you’re really

Unsure about it again you have the video replay of your Club to see what you’re doing now the only thing I will say the only Club data point that I found isn’t perfect Club speed when I originally tested it seemed to be a little off when

I was using it last night it seemed really really good but a lot of these camera monitors that I’ve tested don’t get extremely accurate Club speed sky track unicore all seem to be a little bit kind of varying on the club speed apog is kind of similar next we’re going

To talk about the team at true golf which watching this video you probably don’t think is important but the team that is working on the device and the support team is extremely important because what I found is the teams that are great end up improving the device at

The fastest rate and they’re just great with customer support and helping you out and I can tell you the team TR golf is amazing and they are dedicated to making that device great and that’s why I love this unit so much because with the few quirks that it has I’m confident
