Rickie fowler, the co-creator of the taylormade pix balls and bringing back a 10 year old putter from the dead is now trying out some lines marked on his driver face 🤔

For anyone wondering, I have from a good source that this is legal to use in a completion as the way it is done does not raise the surface enough to be classed as altering it

I used a silver sharpie which worked a treat on the @cobragolf #darkspeed blacked out driver face
.
You might remember Heidiki Matsyama being DQ’d for a similar thing, only he used a material that more resembled ‘white out’ and so was a lot thicker and changed the way the club performed
.
(Apparently if he had marked it in only the grooves on his 3 wood then it would have been legal to play still but he literally covered so much of the face with it)
.
Now you might be wondering why mark you driver like this? Well it’s going to be one of two reason really..
firstly it might be to help with aligning the face to his target better, maybe he just can’t seem to quite get it right without the help of the lines
Or secondly and most likely I think it would be to help him to see and find where the middle of the club face is.. if you look at a lot of drivers, the face is usually to the left closer to the heel of the overall club head so it can be quite deceiving as to where the middle is
.
But also he does love to where sunglasses and maybe he just can’t quite see the middle clear enough while wearing them 🤣
