Welcome to an allnew edition of The Village’s Vmail today I’m joining you at the brand new Cordova recreation facility which is located in a beautiful and established area of the villages near Spanish Springs in this area we have a lot to share about new experiences coming in Recreation Golf and even a new Neighborhood to get us started I’m joined by The Village’s executive director of recreation John Rohan John this is a beautiful area tell me all that the villagers can expect to experience when they come to Cordova well Harper as you can see surrounding us is a beautiful piece of property that
Was been laid out that complement the golf experience and the living experience by adding Recreation amenities for our residents uh to come use and enjoy it is a great piece of property because we have pickle ball courts that’ll be here we have a family style Resort style pool we have a
Pedestrian path for for the walking folks to get here by walk or bike or golf cart excellent picnic Pavilion to come take a break in between all the fun stuff people will be doing and then also our fast and popular corn toss game is beautifully laid out on the lawn here so
Really residents can come here and enjoy a full day of Recreation and Parks and golf and uh take it all in uh to enhance their lifestyle so John this all sounds wonderful and looks incredible when can our residents and their guests begin to enjoy this lovely area we’re getting
Ready to open it up Tuesday January 23rd and we are ready to go our manager will be James Pierce he works out a lahas IND Center so if people are com in here want to go talk to James about doing some leagues or programming or scheduling
Some some time to play some pickle ball or do a corn toss tournament uh James and his team over at laas sien will’ll be glad to help you out yeah so the pool is heated everyone can come take a swim in it make sure you have your resident
ID and guest ID card with you but we also have all the equipment available as well so you can bring your own if if you want to borrow some of ours we’ll have it in the pool equipment room and you can check it out and enjoy it and just

Welcome to hend Hills and why don’t we get started with the Pro Shop here sure we’ve got behind us a new golf pro shop under construction probably about 60% on the way contained within the structure is going to be a new golf shop cart Barn uh other amenities most interestingly is
A starter building that is connected directly to the golf shop which is going to be somewhat unique in The Villages and that will be controlling the the pace of play and the start of play all from one solid building so I think it will make for a really unique seamless
Start to everybody’s round throughout the day and there are some other changes that have taken place over the last few months what do you have going on over here well we do we have a brand new putting green installed with some new Contours uh matching the putting conditions that are
You’ll see out on the golf course which is really important to give them a seamless experience from the putting green to the golf course itself uh We’ve also come up with a new uh hitting cage area and a multi- bay facility to work on their swing warm up before rounds we
Get a lot of folks who come out and just want to work on their on their golf swing in the off hours so that’s a nice new amenity that’s been brought to the property as well in addition to the physical structure that we’ve been working on we’ve been doing spend a lot
Of time from an Agronomy perspective during this time to improve our turf conditions a few minor Renovations but folks won’t see any real changes to the layout itself uh We’ve also included a rerouting of the uh of the rec Trail the executive Rec trail that cuts through
The property to allow bikers Walkers dog walkers uh the chance to reconnect with Morse Boulevard safely and also get a view of the golf course and kind of become part of that whole morning process that we see every day so there’ll be a seamless transition through the tunnel which is now open
Crossing Mor bouvard and uh allow not just golfers but all of our residents who use the recreation Trail to have a safe and and fun experience Kevin being the PGA professional here at Henda Hills and given its history in The Villages as being one of our original golf courses
What is it that stands out to you the most about this course and what can folks expect when they come to play here I think what well one of the things that makes Henda Hills very special is the fact that Chichi Rodriguez former PGA Tour player and one of the most widely
Known Senior Golf professionals out there he actually designed the first hole of the lakes and Oak thank you he’s also made a comment that out of what limited course design he did that these are probably his two most favorite holes that he’s ever designed mirrored far five this is nice
Course nice I may retire here so I think that’s a really neat feature that brings some history and some accountability to the golf course design itself I think our residents are really going to experience some great Golf Course Agronomy conditions here uh throughout the times of this project we’ve not only
Focused on the physical properties the pro shop and other things but we’ve also focused on Turf conditions I’m getting a lot of great comments about what our residents are experiencing at that from a playability and and a golf experience overall you can certainly see it out here
