I Got The NEW COSTCO Kirkland Irons & The TRUTH IS…

I Got The NEW COSTCO Kirkland Irons & The TRUTH IS… With the releases of the latest golf clubs either having been announced or yet to come.. the driver that most people are talking about at the moment isn’t the Taylormade Qi10, isn’t the Callaway Paradym AI Smoke. isn’t the Ping G430 Max 10k and isn’t even the Cobra dark speed driver… but in fact the Costco Kirkland signature Irons… a new set of irons for $499 could well be the best irons of 2024 when you go and buy your ketchup, loo roll and toothpaste. Are the costco irons the best forgiving irons of 2024? Are the Kirkland irons the best budget Irons of 2024? well finally… it’s time to find out…

Right I think I know what these are and I’ve been waiting for ages and I’m Mega excited it is as well it is as well Christmas has come late these are the brand new Kirkland irons from Costco oh yes gab yes guys that’s right I have got the brand new Kirkland irons direct

From Costco if you’re going shopping you want to buy some toilet roll you want to buy some ketchup you can go and pick these up at the same time $499 which equates to around £380 I think that’s exceptional value but they’re only going to be good value

If they perform otherwise they are cheap so let’s find out I’m going to test them today out here at a rather cold and brisk wly Park Golf Club we’re also going to test them in the studio for numbers and see just how they do perform can these go Toe to Toe with potentially

The tailor made p790s the Ping i500s all the good hollow body D that you do see let’s find out so personally I think these actually look really really nice we’re going to kick things off with the low ends this is the piton wedge and they do have a very much p790 esque look

About them I’m not too sure about where the Kirkland Signature logo is I feel like it’s just not Central to be honest but that’s something which I’m sure the guys at Kirkland nor care or think about so let’s see we got 140 yards down here and looking down at this club it really

Does have a huge head it’s got a really long blade length a really thick Top Line all the stuff you would expect from a pretty forgiving iron how does it feel on a nice cold morning I can’t believe how easy that was to launch up in the air the turf

Interaction there was fantastic it’s really nice and high you can see I’ve taken a nice clean divot out of the turf here with this club and that just goes to show that if you have the right technique if you have a a half decent golf swing that you can attack that ball

With does it matter too much what clubs you are using and how much they cost one thing that I got told when I was younger that golf ball has no idea how much this golf club cost so there’s something to think about because if you’re wanting

Some pretty good new golf clubs for a good price do you have to go with the big brand names titlist ping Mizuno pxg Callaway even or tlor made or can you go somewhere like Costco there’s lots of Brands doing this now and I’m all for I’m all for the brands such as Kirkland

Such as Tacomo such as C who are helping bring more people into the game of golf can we hit another nice high pitching wedge with the Kirkland iron an absolute carbon copy I’ve actually left that one out to the right a little bit but the one thing I’ll say

With these is they feel quite nice I’m not going to say they feel fantastic I’m not going to say they feel as good as a set of Munos or a set of pxg but for the price for $499 I certainly don’t think they feel terrible they obviously Hollow

Boded they are to be honest jam-pack full of technology for the price they do have a forged element in them as well they have a forge face so you should be able to get a decent element of feel with these clubs and they actually come stock with an Elevate 115 shaft I’ve got

These in stiff and I’ve got a lamping Crossland grip that’s one thing which Costco have done incredibly well with these clubs get good components in them because there’s no way that having a Kirkland shaft and grip would fly in 2024 can we flight this pitching wedge down because I’ve already been in the

Studio and tested these clubs for numbers and I found it really interesting so if I can flight these down and they have an air of Versatility about them what else do you really want from your clubs that you go and pick up when you do the big shop I’ve

Managed to keep that down a little bit but I have pulled it just a touch one thing I will say about these clubs is they are heavily designed for maybe a beginner golfer maybe a high handicap golfer you can see just on screen now how much offset they have how thick that

Top Line is and of course how long the blade length is so for me the jewelry might be out if you’re a low handicap and mid- handicap player but what low handicap player is walking into Costco to buy golf clubs not sure there’s many

Now one of the big things I want to talk about here is bag appeal as well cuz I honestly feel like you can see I’ve got the full set of Kirkland clubs here and there’s going to be a video coming with these guys what you reckon I would shoot

With a Kirkland driver Kirkland putter Kirkland D Kirkland wedges and a Kirkland ball not to mention the glove but I think the bag Appeals quite cool a lot of people say I would never use Kirkland clubs with Kirkland headcovers on them because I’m not that guy well I

Am that guy I like a bargain I like to save money and I like clubs that perform pretty well guys in this video we’re going to jump in the studio and see just how these clubs do perform and I’ve actually been to golf clubs for cash and

Bought a set of ir in second hand they’re exactly the same price and Hollow boded what do you reckon they are and how are they going to compare moving forward that video is coming soon let’s go and test some more of these Kirkland irons so from the pitching wedge in to

The long irons the long irons in these clubs actually look really really nice if you want a bladed looking Club if you want something that has an air of a p790 ping I 500 a cobra forg Tech about it these could actually be quite nice and I

Actually really really like the look of especially this 4 iron because the 4 iron to me looks a little bit like a p790 driving iron I’d love to maybe put a hazardous 6.0 shaft in this and see just how hot this head did come off they are pretty strong lofted I’ll put all

The Lofts on screen now so you can see them but that is designed just to help you get a little bit more out of them obviously Loft jacking has been a huge issue or a huge thing for a lot of golfers recently but I think these are

Always going to be made to go a long way aren’t they so looking down at this actually the blade length looks more in relation to a nice standard set of irems the pitching wedge For Me Maybe looked a little bit too long but certainly with this it’s more where you would want it

It’s still a nice thick Top Line can we play a nice little draw around this corner nice low ball fly it hasn’t popped up in the air too much and to be honest I haven’t struck that amazingly well it’s worked for me nicely and the ball’s still launched okay it’s managed

To get up in the air but not too much that’s one of the big things that you do certainly want with these clubs they don’t have a speed pocket they don’t have too much technology in them obviously with the Tade p790 you would start to see kind of speed pockets in

Here and things like that but they’re not $499 are they so can we play a nice high one now a nice high powerful shot as opposed to the first one that we hit yes we can and that if you put that club in my hands and I’ve just hit that shot there I

Honestly wouldn’t say and I honestly wouldn’t believe that these clubs were from Costco there’s no way I would think that that felt really good one of the problems that you might see with these how consistent are they if you do strike them around that face are you going to

Get consistency levels but you would get with the bigger Brands but then are we going to compare these with the bigger Brands a brand new set of ping irons sets you back ,500 now $2,000 £499 and you might think James stop Haring on about the price stop

Going on about the price but these I are all about the price aren’t they they’re all about the price they’re all for the people so that’s two nice shots that we’ve hit can we play a bit of a stinger with this so if we can play a really

Nice high shot and a Tiger Woods esque Stinger with a Kirkland they’re just starting to tick boxers they’re ticking the box of price they’re ticking the box of looks they’re ticking the box of performance wait till we get in that studio and we have a look at what boxes

They tick with that now we just have to hit the shot James oh yeah oh yeah versatility big fat horrible tick in that box guys let’s jump in the studio let’s see just how these ions do perform for me they’re quite strong lofted they’re going to be

Low spin they’re going to hopefully go a long way then we’re going to test the mid irons out here and see if potentially they could find the way in my bag or yours so numbers with the Kirkland Signature irons we’ll kick things off with the pitching wedge then

We’ve got the seven iron we’ve of course got the four iron how far will these go 135 is a nice number for me with a pitching wedge that felt softer than what I anticipated actually it felt quite nice not gone that far that felt more powerful that was a better strike 130

That opening seven iron wow they actually feel a lot better than what they look like they’re going to feel 162 yards there with a 79 finishing at 170 55,000 Spin and again we’re thinking about the price aren’t we I mean it looks like a really long blade length

Actually this can we sort of keep that ball flight down that feels a lot better than some clubs that are a lot more expensive consistency wise front to back that one’s traveled 10 yards further so not sure how consistent these are going to be sometimes with hollow body clubs you

Can get those flyers can’t you see if we can get another one but feel wise can you can you hear that has that gone further again that’s a 180 carrier with a 7 iron spinning at 4,600 orbe it but that is very very big I can’t wait to hit the

4on I’ve hit that so hard now it’s just a case of seeing how hard we can hit these and how much we can get away with them because see I hit that one hard and it’s like eight yards less I don’t know I don’t know if the consistency factor is really there how

Far can we hit this this is what everyone does on simulators isn’t it 164 so consistency wise not great well if the 79 was anything to go at this should go miles and it looks really low lofted straight away looks almost like my p792 I in

This I’ve really not hit that very well how forgiving is this going to be not very that’s gone the same distance as the 7on see all I’m trying to do here is hit these really really hard that’s only gone 100 199 but 186 carry cuz forgiveness is going to be a big concept

Isn’t it that’s a towy knuckle ball flight the worry is the gaping between this and the Seven I mean that’s carried 202 with a M hit so that’s what I mean you’re not going to get maybe forgiveness all the time but for the price if you can get it some of the

Time I’ve hit that really good really good totally different ball flight much higher 210 carry and that’s going to have more spin on it as well 41 spin for a 4 iron Hollow bodied 4 IR at that as well 4 iron just turning over a bit for

Me they do have an offset on them here and it’s like a consistent little overdraw we’ll call it it’s a hook but can we 219 total one more this is going to be a good strike it’s going to carry 250 that’s the one that’s better that’s

Better go on get up get up get up get up 205 guys let’s talk numbers for the brand new Kirkland Signature ions because you see I’ve actually hit a ton of shots and spent more time hitting these clubs than just for this video I’ve been testing them for quite a while

And as you can see ball speeds are varying quite a lot the pitching wedge is quite a low ball speed then the seven irons’s an okay ball speed the four iron’s quite a high ball speed then spin rates are all rather low and for me these numbers don’t really tell the

Whole story because when I hit them really well they go miles and then when I Mish hit them like some of the pitching wedges really didn’t go very far at all so very very interesting I think there’s definitely something there if you do hit them out the middle and

Definitely some decent numbers there for ball speeds and for distances would you want to game them if you were trying to get into the low handicap bracket maybe not let’s get back out there and see how these irons perform and you know one of the big things I’m really enjoying about

These clubs is the turf interaction Turf inter ction for me is a huge factor of how I enjoy clubs and you can see there we’ve hit a couple of for irons we’ve got really nice Turf interaction really nice shallow divots if the clubs had a little bit of a wonky Leading Edge a

Little bit of a two sharp Leading Edge you wouldn’t be able to do that and the fact that they are a budget club and they have thought about how the Leading Edge potentially interacts with the turf is a huge bonus and those numbers were really interesting as well yes they’ve

Gone along way consistency wise leaving a little bit to be desired that’s where maybe if you do spend the big book you’re going to see more forgiveness around the face I’m really glad actually had a bad swinging day with them because it kind of shows that consistency wise

Maybe they’re not quite up to scratch if you were going to spend the bigger money but let’s have a look at these mid ions and see if I can go flag hunting with them so just what do these Kirkland D actually feature because they are funly Enough jam-packed full of technology and

I do like to say jam-packed often in videos especially when a club is jam-packed full of technology so the new feature stainless steel body an injected urethene inserts and of course they have internal tungsten weight in just to make these clubs a little bit easier to launch a little bit more forgiving

You’ll see we’ve got the 7 iron here and for me this is a club that could potentially be a scoring club for most golfers this is going to be around about 150 yard Club isn’t it for a lot of golfers this is the one you want to hit

The greens with you don’t want to be messing up with this as you can see plenty of offset again a really really nice Long Blade lens so if you struggle with ball striking it’s going to give you a little bit more confidence and as you start to see that Top Line doesn’t

Look maybe as thick or as brutal as the pitching wedge so starting to feel like maybe this could be a club that you can really start to get on with that felt good it felt clipped it felt like it actually reminded me of a titless T200 kind of iron that’s the

Vibe I’m getting that’s the sound I’m getting and that’s the kind of feel I’m getting as well you can see that Leading Edge working really really nicely with the turf again people are going to be saying James what a weirdo you are why you bothered about the turf and the

Leading Edge but for me Turf interaction is a big part of what I I like to use can we take one over that bunker towards that flag yes we can and what I like about that is you seeing them just fade nicely that’s a shot I really like to play I

Love playing a little bit of a high fade with irons for me it’s more controllable I see a better spin rate I see a better flight window and even though they’ve got the offset on them I can still play that so it’s not stopping me playing the

Shot I want to play which is a big thing because not all high handicap golfers struggle with hitting it right do they some of us hit it left even though I’m a professional you could say that felt absolutely gorgeous I’m really glad I’ve done this video because

I can’t quite believe how solid these feel yes the numbers were maybe a little bit interesting when it came to M hits but for the price I don’t know what we would expect I guess there’s a little bit of a Roundup for these clubs I’ve

Got to say I think for the price numbers are pretty good to be honest and when it comes to Mid irons long irons and short ions very very impressive very nice irons the big thing I’ll say about them is the enjoyment factor is certainly there I could come and play all day here

I could come and clip shots with the pitching wedge like I’m doing here and the enjoyment factors there when I’m looking down at these clubs I’m not thinking oh this is a Kirkland this is a club from Costco that was a good one that one wasn’t it oh it’s coming back

Down it’s spun off we’ve got backspin with the Kirkland irons I’m not thinking I picked these up next to the toilet roll and the wet wipes I’m not thinking that I don’t belong on the golf course like some people probably think because I’ve got a Kirkland ball glove and irons

I’m thinking I’ve got away with that that was a terrible strike go on oh wonderful we’ll take that at the back edge of the green I’m thinking I’ve got a really nice looking set of irons that perform well for the price that I’ve paid for them guys thank you so much for

Watching make sure you do smash that subscribe Buton if you want to see more content around the Costco Kirkland irons drive wedg just put a ball and glove and apart from that I’ll see you all at the same time tomorrow thanks for watching goodbye

  1. I have seen a few reviews on this set. It seems they are pretty good. So far I think Maltby TS1 IM forged irons were better than these and Takomo! That’s saying something! Thanks

  2. It would be interesting to know who is designing this Kirkland stuff James
After all the Snell golf balls had serious pedigree being designed by Dean Snell who designed the original Pro V1
    Got any idea?

  3. Can u do a Sub 70 review. I wanna get fit for my first set of irons just wanna know your thoughts on them

  4. A really constructive review off a set of irons at a budget price. We all have to start somewhere, and it appears that this set would be a fair buy. Along with the driver, wedges, and putter, maybe a better bet that buying a generic full set of starter clubs that you can pick up in most golf shops.
