If you’re playing Iron and Driver shots exactly the same you’re going about it all wrong I’m going to show you today where you’ve got to put your focus and ain’t the golf ball now we’re going to be looking at one key factor here the angle of attack we driver we’re going to
Train this upwards hit to make you longer and with irons we’re going to help you hit down to make your strike purer the hoop is out and it’s quite funny actually uh one of the guys playing here today in mom Hall said the Hoops out and it well in really is
Because this is the easiest way to think about your angle of attack now if you look at this here if the bottom of our Arc was ahead of this golf ball that means our driver would be smashing it down now think about this logically if you’ve got a low lofted club and you
Have it smashing down into the ground that isn’t going to fly very far is it what we’ve got to do is get it to train just like this and I told you in the thumbnail do not look at the golf ball so what I want you to do and this is something you
Can do on the Range and on the course I want you to grab another TEEG okay now bear in mind on the golf course you can’t actually put a teg in but you could have a mark on the ground as your focus I want you to address your golf
Ball and just put your Club head down okay and then just behind the club head but listen to what I’m about to say here and slightly inside I want you to place a TEEG all the way in the ground now the reason why it’s slightly inside just cuz
I want you to imagine the swings on an arc and we are going to try and just brush and take the paint off the top of that TEEG before we hit the golf ball so what I’m saying here is when you’re making your swing feel as though you
Focus on this TEEG just behind the ball now the beauty of this is and why I know it works I always say this to Golfers right think of someone punching if you just have punch to somebody it wouldn’t have the same Force as if you’re trying to punch through them so having that
Thought we’re trying to go through the teg and the ball just gets in the way of the club swinging now I’m going to prove this to you I got my launch monitor down here just to show you that this is going to help me hit up so here we go I’m
Going to address it normally if you want to you can address where the TEEG is I will leave that bit up to you so have a look at this here I like to do a bit of a halfway house again I’m just trying to focus on taking the top of that TEEG
Off look at the launch on that coming back down into the Fairway but most importantly what was the number now have a look at this right here this is what I’m on about you can see this says 2° on the up so go back to our hoop that’s is
Working low to high into the hoop and that’s going to give you a much better yardage okay let’s now show you how to do it with an iron and we’re looking to have this down I mean look at that 271 just making that slight change you’ll be getting somewhere close to
That now we’d all enjoy some distance like that wouldn’t we onto an iron now and I want you to get that crunch strike but I want you to understand this first off so if we have a look at our hoop and this just represents where our club is
Going to contact the ground so if it contacts the ground way before that would be sort of catching thin and you can sort of see here how that bottom Groove would catch half up the golf ball and on a worst case scenario you’re going to catch it fat whereas what we’re
Going to really get you into here is look Club traveling high to low into that hit and all you have to do and I promise you this is change your focus you saw the effects of the angle of attack you saw it was two upward driver just by me putting my focus
Around about a club head behind now I want to reiterate this I was focusing on the teg here on a drill you can do that when you’re practicing but you can just pick a little Mark out on the ground be selective where you Tee It Up to Aid you
To have a little bit of a mark behind Now with an I am this is what I want you to do a club head in front place a TEEG in the ground all the way in the idea is simple you were trying to brush it with your driver you’re now
Trying to go through it with your iron now word of caution with this you want to hit down more with your shorter irons and less with your longer IR so the measurement that I would use is round about a club head away from the gold
Ball with the TEEG for sort of 7even ir eight iron 9 ion and I would go half a club head away for clubs that are 6 iron five iron and if you’re strong enough carrying a four I now watch this strike away this is where you’re going to go
Alex why did I not do this sooner why did I not do this sooner listen to this strike I really got that sensation there that I was striking through that go ball into that teg I was focusing on that like hitting through the ball to the teg
The ball was just getting in the way with an iron and have a look at this if I pull that forward TEEG out the ground look how I’ve taken the top off I mean that’s pretty good example of what we’re looking for and even better here let’s
Have a look at this data come closer here negative 6.1 so going back to our hoop that’s me hitting down 6° which is a little bit too much for an iron but I would hope that I would overdo this with the 79 on the range and then on the
Course this is sort of maybe around 4 and a half to five but let’s not be picky right if we’re catching Bal and turf that’s exactly what we’re happy about I didn’t realize how far this went 161 in the cold hopefully it don’t look too cold with 879 I’m absolutely buzzing

Whos going to take this straight to the course this weekend? I know I am…you have to try this for me!
Love it Alex, I believe you done a video on moving the driver back (John Rahm style) which in turn gets your body in a great position. This has help me massively and really appreciate the channel pal 👍🏻
I've learned in my short time with golf, to look at the low points instead of the ball itself. My main problem is with the driver. When I tilt my spine I tend to hit the ground instead. Thanks for all your videos and tips!
Thanks Alex your Videos are AWESOME AND SO HELPFUL!!!!
I use a form of this at the range. I just use ordinary blackboard chalk to mark the mat then try and get the chalk to disappear.
Well done alex 🏌♂️ 😊
Love this tip!
Couldn't agree more. Some of the best shots I've taken are where I trusted my rotation and didn't look at the ball.
Hi Alex great tips again, how about a 3 wood please 🙏
last year was the year of driver improvement. by the end of the season, my goal was, in my practice swing, to ruffle the grass about 8 inches behind the ball position. this year, I'm going to be working on consistency with my irons. this goes hand in hand with moving the ball position forward in the stance for longer irons. and yes, I'm one of those who will pull the 3 out of the bag when I'm feeling good.
Very clever Alex!! Can’t wait to try this out!!! 😊
I know ur only 12 years old
Thank you for excellent, clear, easy to follow advice.

Good morning Alex will try that today with driver and irons 👍
Great watch. Really invested in this content. Can you demonstrate a easy drill to practice shifting weight onto my lead side for an iron shot. I find it hard to keep my balance . Thanks
Alex I though you where a Cobra guy or have you switched to Ping driver.
Alex. Can you use similar philosophy with hybrids and 3 Wood. How would you apply. Thanks for any help!!
Wish I could..in winters icey grip right now
Alex you have helped me tons. Im still a work in progress but I fill its getting better
Your videos are so good to folliw
Great drill, and for me, it will definitely help me work on my irons
