Which tells me that Alabama was the second best team in college football this year cuz you took the best team in college football by 20 points into overtime plus you have a quarterback who’s developing yeah you got a Young quarterback 62 225 who can clearly run incredibly well but he also has grown

Into a much more proficient passer plus you beat the team that had won 28 straight games at 2930 in Georgia like you beat Georgia in a must hav it game in the SEC Championship Game to go back to the college football playoffs where you took the best team in the land into

Overtime and now you’re stepping away I won’t question sa because to me Sab is the greatest coach of the modern generation I will not question Sabin Sabin stands in a Class by Himself but I will simply say I don’t think it was the right yeah I don’t think it was neither

And I’m surprised because when you watch coaches that you may think like oh yeah this might be his last year either they losing or you could kind of see them losing the love for the game you can kind of see that stuff like we seen none

Of that like we still seen the passion from him we still seen his teams out there well coached playing extremely good football like we we seen none of that so I am surprised by this because number one he was going to be in the mix next year whether nil money or not the

Way he coaches the the players that he has over there already and I’m sure they going to get some more players as well that want to come over there and play for him and they going to be in the mix when you talk about the playoffs going

To 12 teams so this was surprising because when you really think back to sabin’s Career the only only thing he chases is national championships and and he is and he has let that be known like none of this other little stuff matters but winning and national championships

And he was going to be in the mix for that next year it’s not like he had a team like we ain’t even got a shot to even get back to none of this or we got to rebuild that’s not the case so I’m surprised by this but kudos to him man

What Shady was talking about last block is real you used to be able to walk in a room and say I’m Nick Sabin I coach Alabama look at all these you see all this you see all this you see these facilities you see these these uh these

Boosters you see fans we are the standard we’re the standard there’s a couple other places that are cool weed them boys Weeden boys and they still are but there are a couple other places who can walk in there too and say it and now with nil and the way that recruiting is

It is just different I’m not saying that Nick sa couldn’t keep up because obviously as you mentioned he’s still in the mix we’re talking about whether it was time to walk away or not but what I love about Legends walking away on their own terms is they get to write the story

What’s the what’s the lasting memory you’ll have of Nick Sabin in the Rose Bowl losing to you just made an argument he’s just lost to Michigan in overtime lost okay but you cannot always walk out with a national championship and he knows that and anyone who competes knows

Athletes it it’s influential for other athletes that aren’t playing football it’s great for college sports but it has changed the world it is an exhausting 247 job on top of whatever being a college football coach was before so I think it’s brilliant to be able to walk

Out and say this is how I’m leaving my career which is in the college football playoffs going into overtime against the team that went on to win the national championship that feels good to me yeah I think it’s the right time for him though I think that his age at 72 right

Um he’s accomplished a lot of different things man a lot of things different teams LSU championship bring six to to Alabama but what Joey was talking about is that is that uh that recruiting is real right and I think when you going to to to these homes of these young um kids

You know a lot of them these young black kids that don’t come from much we don’t want to hear this all about these championships now n on there we where the money at right where is the money before you had to get money to go to NFL
