GRF Head Coach Marcus shows how just a simple few adjustments in the set up with the driver can be the difference between playing those nice, tight draw golf shots or not! As always a huge thanks to our student, James, who kindly gave permission to share his GRF Golf lesson experience.

As I said there the past couple weeks I’ve been facing the body that way to try and straighten the swing up you’re not going to need to do that so you’ve been swinging left and hitting down to get a path to the right so that would
Have done this that’s why you’ve had to probably do this yes whereas we’re going to be shifting your swing direction that way to hit up to bring your path so we’re going that way but the path goes this way okay so there’s the swing left that’s fine yep that’s a really good
Marker what’s sometimes difficult to comprehend that far right you actually have to go with the driver because you need to go over here W again you know where near this when you’re actually cuz remember you’re swinging up and by the time and you’re rotated you’re always going left and the
Club’s going left so you need to be over here I mean look what’s through there it’s those trees y so you can move your feet around a little bit this way just to make it easier come around this way there go and then feel the swing over here
Yeah cuz if you that’s it and then your face will just rotate okay have another go it’s all right you just couldn’t get to the ball that’s all so just move yourself this way more toward towards me so your ball position is too far forward move it back
You come this way yeah come on keep coming that’s it really yeah now no so don’t move because you’re going this way the Wall’s here ah there you couldn’t get to that ball then you moved but you were swinging so far right it was physically outside of your of your swing
Range whereas that feels back but it’s not back because relative to your rib cage swinging this way so this is relative to your rib cage not your feet Yes okay it’s if you’re looking that way and you’re thinking this way then and and your rib cage is that way then yes but
It’s not it’s here so that means that’s that’s in the that’s in the right place now you can swing over here very good just C no but the see that see the direction yeah it drew it drew now you don’t need to tilt your shoulders and all that business so you
Don’t need to slide you you don’t need to do all this no no no cuz essentially what happens is that just makes it harder to rotate it does cuz essentially when you do this how do I get into the side Bend to stand off that’s the exact
Problem I have getting through there to the yeah so when you stand here purely by gripping the club look what that does yes so that the Tilt comes from here right not from doing this I’m still trying to do this yeah you don’t want that that’s that’s great now forward
Press and off you go that’s it beautiful that wasn’t a lot wrong with that yeah too early yeah was was it was so it’s okay you to take you stand on there have a swing just practicing now let the club rest on your shoulder again
Yeah Let It Drop now I want you to swish it back drop it and pop into you finish and Let It Drop and again let it fall swish it back off you go nice Let It Drop off you go straight down that’s it the club will
Fall off you go then yeah let it fall then I you through it Let It Drop let it fall now off you go nice different feeling now do the same thing there on the ground away from the bo if you love the coaching and want to experience the effects of the
Training that you see with our pupils you can purchase the GFI system Yourself by following the link in the video description you’ll get all the equipment and a 2-hour download covering all the fundamentals exploring your movement and how you can use the ground and create those all important ground reaction
Forces and transfer them through to Club speed and experience the gains that you’re seeing in the videos Let It Drop yes now off you go swinging out to the right for the draw well played much much better you can spring a little bit it was yeah you you just sprung a bit early
Yes yes you can tell before you even strike it the way you’re moving there now you we brought one the to again yeah a little bit but you’re not so used to you’re not you’re not used to swinging so far right no abely but you’ll get used to rotating and let
The club go swing Dr you’re going yeah exactly cuz keep your GP you’re swinging the club out this way so just you twist that way and spring that way but your Club gets thrown this way and it’s pulling you you’re just not used to it doing this you need to counterbalance it
More with rotation but like you said earlier you’ve never You’ thought you didn’t think you got to be so open with a driver bigger Rangers faster you’re going to have to be even earlier cuz you’re really rotating awesome well play James and then you’re going to get
Confidence to start it even more right because as you can see it’s just a nice tight draw it’s all brand new at the minute isn’t it yes that’s all bit of practice but it’s a new it’s New Foundations to go and take your game forward with oh awesome that a that was
Brilliant and you looked so different over that shot you looked it looked like it was going to be a good shot before you started cuz you were it was a flow in the move I don’t static all the sure straight down on the 250 now SE now
Look at that it started off just inside the 150 and Drew that’s probably the best one yet was the best one yeah oh that was body it w bad you just didn’t move yourself around enough so to go right just move that’s it move around the ball
A bit when you your hands have got to be here otherwise if your hands are back here you the point your Club face is pointing left while how do you draw it from there yeah you can’t cuz it’s going to have to open up cuz you’ve got to
About to have a face that’s closing going this way if you start like that how do you we’re already we’ve got to be over here now you can go that way so the conf address should look to me sort of open yes exactly cuz if you let the club
Sit now it looks just let that relax look at that that’s Square that’s not open that looks something to me yeah it’s not so that’s pointing out this is different to an iron cuz it’s got roll and BGE it’s not a flat face so it’s a
Crown and that’s the sweet spot so it opens up so when when that sits that’s how the club that’s standard Square not the top Edge or the bottom Edge The Sweet Spot sweet spot and we want to be further that way wa so we want the shaft
To be slightly forward as well slight forward that’s it now you can that’s that’s going to let you rotate the face nice brilliant off so you’re showing the face to the ball more yeah and it’s more neutral yeah now this looks already like the intention
That is exactly the shot you set up for I’m in this yeah and you’re not oh yeah it’s what you feel like is it yeah yeah yeah yeah that’s so weird that’s how far you’ve biased your move your calibration yeah it’s so strange at that that’s a good one that’s
Beautiful isn’t it that’s a good one yeah I would have never ever set up like that honestly brilliant yeah a take that fantastic James Marcus enjoy and my hand going to go we not practice up because it’s s it’s obious yeah well the thing is you’ve got you’ve got now
You’ve basically got in that video you’ve got your own manual yes that’s purpose for you purpose that’s very very change to me and yet it works I would never have done that I would have thought it’ be that we yeah but it’s kind of it’s the opposite but this is a
Recalibration but that’s 80% of your shots are drawing so you’ve got the odds in your favor now you can that’s going to give you confidence to start trying more it’s funny how we get into habits yes yes brilant enjoyed it oh fantastic brilliant awesome mate well Done

Great video guys thanks
Marcus, you boys re knocking it out of the park with these YT videos. Happy holidays to all. Cheers.
Marcus. What is best way to increase angle of attack with driver ? Thank you
people ask me where i learned to strike the ball and I was telling them Zen Golf Mech. Just realized you have a diff name and that's why they can't find you.
Was just out in the backyard practicing. Smoking my irons (all thanks to you), but as ever, struggling with my driver. Then *ding*…
Thank you and thank the universe!
Love you lesson I was having same problem trying to hit draw ball to far up this makes sense my question is can you still get a positive attack angle with ball in the middle like this I need to hit up more thanks
Marcus , Great work with James . How about opening up in 2024 with your pick of shoes ? New items that we can purchase ? On Fades your body is aimed left of target , so the swing goes left of target , is the clubhead opening to the target or closing ? For some reason I am not fully confident with the correct feel of face to path with the fade . I feel it is still closing on the fade . Which can lead to pulls ? Cheers
Love the vids but Marcus, please stop standing there. It only takes one bad shot.
Hi, just stumbled across this in the desperate hope of finding a video to help fix my slice. So to recap, are you saying put the ball further back in the stance? Almost central? And also have closed stance? I.e. trial foot dropped back a bit? Appreciate your response.
Update: Played a round, yesterday, with the intention of putting these adjustments to the test and pulled driver off the tee as often as was feasible. Out of 10 driver shots, I hit 7 fairways. 1 just in the rough left, 1 one pushed right, and one where for some reason I decided to forgo closing the club face that went OB. The prevailing shot shape was a 3-5 yard draw. I averaged 30 yards more per drive, without trying to go after any. And I beat my previous differential by 7.1 shot, from one tee box back.
