Do you need a lob wedge in your golf bag so I’ve got a 60° wedge here and also I have a 56 degree wedge and a common question we get here at the go shop online do we really need a lob wedge lots of people might stop at a 56 even

58 54 degrees of Loft in their wedge and lots of people do end up having L wedges as well now you can do pretty much what you need to do with a 60 with something like a 56 you can twist more Loft on and play Fancy shot and get out of trouble

And recover and hit the shots you need but it takes maybe a little bit more skill and practice having a wedge with more Loft that gives you a bit more option at the end of your bag where you do need to get it up and over something

And get it to stop or you need to go over trees or whatever it is the 60 definitely is an easy option I don’t know any skilled player T players that I’ve worked with and met over the years who don’t have a version of L wedge may

It be a 62 or 60 or 58° something more lofted than what we would class as their standard Sand Wedge if it’s 55 56 54.5 like they dial into the half degrees those T Pros so yeah I think if you can afford it if it’s a club you’re looking

At and you don’t own it already I think a lob wedge is a great addition to most golfers bags cuz it just gives another option out there in situations where you’re going to need as many options as possible because you are going to have to get the ball over and stop now are

They harder to play well for some people they are and some people they aren’t some people actually love having a fuller swing with more Loft so should you stop at your Sand Wedge for me if you can afford it get something more lofted it’s only going to help cuz

You’re going to get in that situation where it needs to go up and come down and you’ve got a club that does it for you

  1. I got one, but there is a saying I heard recently a lob wedge should be behind glass- only break for an emergency 🙂

  2. My feeling is a lob wedge is not a forgiving club. You need to know how and when to hit. If you practic, for most of us mortals it’s better to use a lower lofted club

  3. I gave up my 60 degree and now just use my 56 degree and open up the face. I find I am more consistent with the 56 degree. The 60 degree had very little bounce so I had to be super accurate with strike otherwise it was usually a fat shot just when I didn't want it.

  4. A friend of mine hosel-rocketed a 60 degree into the side of my head, so I don’t have a good relationship with the club. Don’t see it ever making an appearance in the bag.

  5. For years used a 60 for must chip shots, but switched to 54/58 a few years ago, but struggled with using 54 for short chips so I settled on 58 and TBH I wasn't as consistent. SO this year I went back to a 56/60 and mostly I chip with 56 and my proximity to the hole is much better. I have reserved 60 for get out jail moments when less loft just won't work, but I use at least 10* of bounce now on my 60.

  6. The up and over club that i have to have in my bag, the over trees, bunkers and out of those really deep bunkers that my ball gets drawn to. like all clubs you have to have confidence in the swing.

  7. I carry a low-bounce LW, but only use it for bunker shots where conditions are extremely firm, or even compacted to the point of feeling like hardpan.

  8. I've got a 58… I use it once every 3 rounds.. I would probably use it more if I was on a different course but there isn't much vertical obstruction, no deep bunkers which my 54 isn't just fine out form. I do think it is course specific, if newbies think they will get the ball zipping back they're misguided.
