  1. If they were 1200 exceedances, are the FiA actually saying that the drivers issued with the penalties were directly responsible for them all? It would appear on the face of it that they were a greater distribution of these transgressions across the grid than those that were identified and given penalties.

  2. Track limits in outer side of corners are just not necessary, why not abolish them? Porsche Cup cars go way over that white line every single lap and it's just fine. Keep it simple, there is no need to overcomplicate things.

  3. We are continually being told that these are the best 20 drivers in the World! Why is there a discussion about track limits – if they were hard walls they wouldn't drive into them would they. If the speed of the cars is causing an issue then it's up to the drivers to reduce their speed until they find the maximum speed that they can take the corner at without exceeding track limits. It's not rocket science!

  4. they need to screw a line of a razor on the curve, so every time a driver goes out of the line he's tire will go a slice out of them.

  5. They are supposed to be the pinacle of motorsport and the best drivers in the world.
Blaming the circuit for them going offline is absolutly ridiculous.

If they cant judge the limit corectly. Then put a temporary wall in place of the white line.

  6. That green/purple nuances reminds me of demagnetising old cinescope tvs….my only thought would be he had a magnet around his camera, although it is a camera not a tv screen!

  7. Interesting story from Karun there about a team chasing the 3 plane front wing. Pretty sure McLaren first introduced this around 2002 but no idea who the other team is

  8. Track limit violations are a band aid and shouldn't be a thing. Just change your tracks so there's no advantage to going off.

  9. I was thinking about the track limit issue.. I think if there was some sort of an ablative (for lack of a better word) material, that stains the tyre, or throws up some chalky dust. Making it easier to spot visually when a track limits infringement had occurred..
The ol'looking at a tv, with a ruler against the screen doesn't sound very accurate to me.

  10. you could use the Isle of Man TT principal for track limits this would work for cars and already does for bikes, just build concrete walls around the track

  11. Just paint a separate line for the bikes, x amount of distance they need from the gravel trap/bolt on kerbs???

  12. 2 feet of gravel for F1 with bolt on covers for motorbikes. Sorted. This must be at all corners, not just ones where they can "gain an advantage." That way, spectators will understand it better, and it will be totally taken out of the steward's hands.

  13. He craps on about some of the transgressions being centimetres, yet the 2m width of the car is already over the line when the "centimetres" come into it. They already get the full car width as grace.

  14. Just for a change from track limits, I will start another topic. You know, the people from Sky are supposed to be professional broadcasters, as are most of the guests, but you know, I find it very annoying listening to people, who you know, put a "you know" into just about every sentence. It's getting so bad, you know, I have declared a "you know" epidemic, and I fear, you know, that I may have to escalate this to a pandemic after watching the front-of-camera "talent" this weekend at Silverstone. Although I pay to watch F1 on Sky, this weekend, you know, I will probably watch the Channel 4 coverage, especially if they have DC and Mark Webber. Don't they evaluate their coverage after each event, to determine what went well and what did not? Or doesn't a command of the English language matter any more?

  15. Listening to right holders for F1 defend F1 is a total waste of everyones time.
Sky Sports F1 has essentially just become the Formula 1 Official PR team over the past few years. coverage is abysmal.

  16. Gentlemen, are you serious about the suggestion to take Max out of the competition would result in a better racing season? You have to realize that if we take out Hamilton of every result in one year he was winning every race it was a certain Dutchman finishing second and therefore declared the winner of that race. ……and consequently Max would be world champion much earlier.

  17. I think the penalties should be done during the race race stops that's it and not figured out after everyone has gone home

  18. They should add a penalty icon with number of seconds penalty to the leaderboard like they have for fastest lap

  19. Karun mate. Your camera is knackered! The blue sensors have gone, or your color settings are off! Anyway, You have a proven track record, no pun intended, on track design. Technology will not solve it and while tracks are shared between two and four wheels, track limits should be more relaxed. Why are these drivers not allowed to find the limits of grip.

  20. Grass then gravel corse enough the ruin front wings and floors. Off the track=go home. Karun buys a beach property

  21. Agree with Karun. Nasty longitudinal sausage kerb. If the drivers are the best, you stay on the black stuff with all 4 tyres
