  1. Great video. Just shows that you can’t buy a golf game. It’s the best way to have fun and save a lot of money. Thanks James. Hey what brand is your golf bag? It looks gorgeous. 😊

  2. This has been a great video and shows just how little you have to spend to enjoy golf. Wish I had seen this before being fitted for new Mizuno irons 2 weeks ago.

  3. It’s no different to car choice. A cheap older car will get you from A to B, but may look a bit rough round the edges and potentially break down on you. A new car will do exactly the same journey but will look smarter and perhaps get you there a tiny bit quicker. Plus your mates MAY be more impressed 😂

  4. To me, many golf clubs are like you mentioned about the expensive watch or pen, they’re like jewelry. There may be slight performance upgrades, but the cost to upgrade ratio is generally not very good for the consumer. When I started playing golf again, I bought a set of Stix clubs just to see if I wanted to play regularly again. When I realized I still loved golf like I did when I was younger, I bought new Pings, Vokey wedges, and a PLD putter (now using a Scotty Cameron). Did my handicap improve after spending four times as much? Not immediately. I’ve gotten better through practice and lessons, but it wasn’t really the clubs. But they are pretty. 😂

  5. Thanks for a great video. I always thought the sets like the paradym will be the budget set in 2030. There isn't the room for a fundamental change in golf technology. Performance will always depend on the ability of the person holding the club. This is great news for people starting out in the game and Collectors of classic gear.😂

  6. Every new golfer should watch this series. It shows you how little equipment matters. Save $$, get lessons.

  7. It was just bound to happen and in some ways it's a good lesson for us all that expensive isn't always the answer. We need a Clubs4cash in every town!

  8. Great videos. I think if you are a solid golfer clubs are feel and looks because you hit them well . If your a higher handicapper clubs in your spec designed for max help I think do make a difference.

  9. And the winner is James!!! The real winner is golf, as you have proven that you can play well with any clubs. And probably the more you play with a certain set, the better you become judging distance et cetera. I can imagine some clubs to be more enjoyable to hit than others, so maybe that is what you pay for.

  10. I can see how in the right hands the clubs make little or no difference, but I am a mid hdcp and the forgiveness in some of the newer irons and drivers I believe do help, I have the Ping G425 and when I hit a high toe shot I am always impressed with how little distance and accuracy I lose. If nothing else just the confidence I gain with whatever club I have in hand means I have a better chance of hitting a good shot IMO. Great video btw.

  11. A super video and topic. One might surmise that for over 95% of us golfers (including single digit players) pricey clubs for most part will not improve our game. Practice, playing more and occasional lessons will prove more beneficial.

  12. My bag has a original resale value of $3450, but I only spent $1375 on the clubs, all new except for a demo Cobra LTDx 5 wood and a demo Odyessy Toulon Austin putter. I purchased all of the other clubs right after the release of the following years models. There is value out there if you don't have to have the newest and shiniest things out. I know I could have gone lower with second hand clubs but, for me, removing the plastic from a new golf club is such a awesome time.
