I bought the chipper a few years ago when I sucked with wedges. Now I use it if I have a tree 20 feet in front of me. If you full swing the chipper, it goes like 85 yards carry and 200 yards high lol. It shoots up quick too. I’ve gotten over trees that everyone laughed when I told them the strategy.

I have honestly never had so much fun on either a par three or 18 hole course in my life! My Dad had an old “chipper” Cheap club from Walmart, I think it was a Dunlop. It literally had a putter head with 45° of loft and grooves on the face. He had a putter grip put on it, and used it anytime he was in short grass around the green. Can’t tell you how times I saw him hole out with that thing. It’s probably still around somewhere.
I have a decent short game with the exception of bunker play…until added a Cleaveland CBX CB 2 I now carry two 58 degree wedges my vokey SM8 for fuller shots and tight lies and my CBX is for every shot out of bunkers or over bunkers to tucked flags it may not get as close as a perfect shot with the Vokey will but I generally leave myself with a vey make-able par putt and that doesn’t happen if i screw up with my Vokey.
Trouble is you catch the flange on the turf too easily. i tried them & chucked them away. I am a 15 hcp. The best I ever was a solid 12 hcp on tough Public Courses.
