Here’s how I built my own impact screen frame:
The frame is three 2x4s, roughly 8.5’ to fit my 8’x8’ screen. I also used four 1.5’ cut down 2×4 ends to fasten it to the wall on top and bottom (pics 2 and 3). The top supports I made sure to hit studs, the bottoms I just put flush to the legs.
I fastened the screen with bungee balls, attached to [slotted angle irons](https://www.menards.com/main/hardware/sheet-metal-rods/hillman-reg-1-1-4-slotted-steel-angle-18-gauge/11112/p-1444432421630-c-9215.htm). The third picture shows this if you zoom in.
For the padding on the front, I just bought a large 2” [raw memory foam pad](https://www.amazon.com/GoTo-Foam-Height-Upholstery-Cushion/dp/B07S7YXD92/), and cut it to width and length. I glued the padding to the wood, and wrapped it in raw black fabric. I used a stapler to fasten the fabric around the padding to the back of the frame.
I also added heavy curtains for the left and right for when I invite friends over who are scared of shanking. You can somewhat see the right one tucked back, but when I play myself I don’t need it. I have one hook on the frame and one on the ceiling for each side to hang the curtain.
Yes I know I need a better projector; I had a cheap one already and my wife was already annoyed of the price of the GC2 lol.
This would be simple to extent out if you wanted a whole enclosure instead of just a frame, but I wanted to take up less of this room. It could be better, but this is a simple enough DIY alternative to the pricey enclosures.
Total price for everything described above was about $150

I hope you are a very good golfer!
Bro I built my frame too. A little different. I feel like that was the huge money saver for me.
Those bungee ball cords though. I recommend getting some 550 cord (parachute cord) and tying it too. The bungee break pretty easy. I’ve had a few break.
Have you made contact with any of the 2x4s?
You will have holes in your wall for sure, everyone shanks one now and again
