Thanks Phillip. It's a bit of a stigma when you mention raising your left heel off the floor in the back swing, but it looks as if it certainly releases tension. Going to give this a go tomorrow at the range/course. Many thanks.
Hope you find this advice helpful and unlock those extra yards with a driver. If you are new to Easiest Swing make sure to get your FREE E-Book from easiestswing.com and learn more about our philosophy. Most importantly enjoy your golf ⛳️
Wonderful video. I seem to recall some golfers of old who lifted their left heel up talked about starting the downswing by planting their left heel back onto the floor as if 'squashing a bug'. Is this a helpful thought to start the downswing, from your point of view, or do you feel this can inhibit the feeling of 'turning through' to a finish? We are all searching for the 'holy grail' feel of starting the downswing and wondered if you had thoughts on that swing feeling?
Brian Sparks and the Easiest Swing instructional videos have made an immense effect on my game. At 75 I am still losing distance and struggle with the driver. Occasional slices or fades occur when trying to put a little more effort as you show here. Surfing YouTube , I found Marcus Edblad, a Swedish PGA instructor that promotes an inside / out swing with the trailing hand pushing rather than the lead hand pulling. I will be interested to see is any of this can be incorporated into the success that Brian and his team have give me.🇨🇦👍👨🦳
Got any extra tips for those of us over 78?
Keep following our channel, sign up for our newsletter and join the Easiest Swing Club we love senior golfers and just two weeks ago one of our members told me that following back surgery he wouldn’t be playing golf if it wasn’t for Easiest Swing…. He is 86 and plays off 12 so yes keep following us and we will keep on helping you.
This is the best instructional video l have seen for a long time. My recolection is in the 80's thats when they started teaching keeping the front heel down on the backswing, keep the bottom half quiet was the fraze. That together with a straight left arm, keeping the head still and a high finish probably ruind as many golf swings as it helped.
Can this be used for younger golfers, like mid 30’s that are built muscle wise or do you just recommend and try?
Can we treat the lead heal coming down as a trigger for the downswing?
Cheers Phillip thanks great video very easy to understand, from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 64yrs 16hcap. My biggest problem is Sliding off the ball and Not being able to get back thru…😊
Do we do this for our irons as well??? Thnks
Thank you Phillip for a valuable, easy to follow very helpful video.
I like your relaxed, friendly way of coaching & also your thoughtful, realistic comments to subscribers comments.
I have a copy of Positive Impact Golf & find it helpful.
Will the new book contain mainly new information or is it an update of your tried & tested approach?
When is it to be published & how much will it cost?
Your brother's advice helped me play golf to suit my ability ,fitness & health.
Many other professional teaching golfers failed miserably when they wanted me to try & play in a similar way to young professional golfers.
I was a primary school teacher who varied my teaching to suit a wide range of ability in my primary school classes.
I still see some of my ex pupils & they tell me that they enjoyed being in my class.
I am 80 years old & recommend either playing a relatively short course or playing off the red tees on long courses.
That enables me to avoid getting too tired & usually have a satisfactory score.
Hits a bullet draw right down the fairway on his "bad"swing 😂
It helped putting the ball forward in your stance. Not so much the foot.
Such bs….100 yards

Happiest Birthday ESClub. 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤ ❤❤❤
Thanks for your info…. as i remember…. the key is to put that foot down as the start of your downswing for the weight shift…not starting down with arms….which is why i probably tried to stop using it and planting my foot… eliminating extra movement. but at 72,,, i think i need it again….Thanks again, i will give it a go on the range tomorrow…. Vince
Glad I found this video.
Can you do this with irons?
How is it? No matter how loose or wide I try to swing I can never get anywhere near those clubhead speeds, I constantly check on a monitor, I am quite strong, loose and flexible.
The best solution, paradoxically, is to swing more slowly.
I watched the Women's Open about 10 years ago and saw they were hitting 280 yards or more off the tee and wondered why I couldn't do it. I slowed down, copied their smooth swing and added more than 25 yards to my tee shots within a few weeks.
I'm 77, 5'6 and had cancer surgery 6 weeks ago so I am taking things very easy. On Saturday my 5 wood tee shots were between 185 and 205 yards. My driver on the 3 holes where I used it went over 210 yards.
