  1. Really interesting, thank you for highlighting the many young British golfers who were lost during the carnage of WW1.

  2. You did not mention it but the Walker cup was modeled after the Lesley Cup which was originally Metropolitan NY GA, Pennsylvania GA and Massachusetts GA. The trophy is larger (from Tiffany)/and looks like the Stanley Cup. Over 110 years old. The initial problem was that one team lost early and had to sit out the finals. Quebec GA was added in. Best courses. PVGC, Winged foot, TCC, Oakmont, National GL, etc. My dad was Captain of the MGA team for over 20 years and I won the alternate shot at TCC in 1990.

  3. Would have been nice to hear about who's actually playing in the Walker Cup this year, how they got there…

  4. Had the pleasure of walking the fairways of NGLA at the 2013 Walker Cup. One of the finest sports events I’ve experienced… player/caddy chat, club selections, proximity to terrific shots and a surprisingly small crowd. US dominated but Fitzpatrick’s iron play was pretty cool.

  5. Probably my best viewing experience in 2019 at Hoylake, ended up walking around with Matty Fitz watching Alex Fitz. Such a relaxed vibe at the Walker Cup.
