  1. Possibly the best instructional video I've seen. To see that your grip according to Ben was the cause of a lot of your problems is something we all take for granted. I've always been a fan of your swing but by the end of the video it looked so much more solid. 👏

  2. I am struggling with this very thing. I would love to truly understand what my hands and wrists are doing at impact. And SHOULD be doing.

  3. Great video Dan so much you don’t realise that you wouldn’t know unless people like you make these videos 🎉

  4. Very good vid and relatable. More of this! Suggestion? A followup on the putting vid with Paul? The one with the ramp to roll the ball on the same speed?

  5. Amazing lesson and vlog DH , that new swing move really suits you !
Looking a little thin though , do you need to raid Jordan's snack drawer ?

  6. What a great lesson! To be honest: I´ve just been through or let`s say I am on this process still right now as you have shown in this particular video. ( My HCPI 2.4) I do really appreciate the didactic and methodic way your coach is working with you as a skilled player. I have not been that open at the top but some similar issues during the downswing. Once again: great video. Could be a role model for a lot of players who really want to work on their swing and do not mess it up after having had a few lessons.

  7. Loved every second of that, Dan. Really useful. I've been struggling with squaring the club face on my short irons a lot recently so this has resonated with me 👍👍👍👍

  8. Really great content his video, so inspiring to re-check all that is involved in a proper golf swing. Wish I had someone like Ben around my place. I recently started my journey to improve my swing because I was very armsy with too firm wrists. Starting my movement out of the body rotation instead of my arms allows me to rotate my lower body so much better while keeping my wrists loose enough to achieve that whipping effect with my clubs. Gained one to two clubs in length already, especially with my longer irons, hybrid and wood.

  9. Dan, I don't play at your level (I'm @ 18 handicap), though I appreciate the grip influences swing and impact.

I started with a strong grip, but that got in the way of learning "green to tee". So I moved to a weak grip, this helped with the short game, but blew up the mid to long game. It opened the door to an "out to in" swing and dropped distances a lot. My mission is to shut the "out to in" door and regain distance without going strong on the grip.

I note a full baseball grip, recapitulates a strong grip and is an anathema to the short game but it does reinforce a proper swing from the ground up, using the big muscles.

I believe what was discussed in the vlog may help me but I think I need to attain more competency, as I suspect there will be nuances known to scratch golfers that an 18 handicapper still needs to learn. Regardless, like Hogan's "Five Lessons", I think I'll be revisiting this vlog repeatedly as I build up my skill level.

  10. Love it. I've seen hack motion before and Ben uses it well as a data collector but then uses his own skills to pick the right drills for you. I am one of those who were forever searching for a way to make my hands do what they're supposed to, not realising they already were, considering the lack of good pivot.

  11. I spent 30 minutes this morning on something similar with my pro so really good to watch this and have a good visual on what I'm working on.
I really like seeing instructional content.
Out of interest what instructional time does Paul have (when he's not your cameraman 😂)

  12. This both funny and extremely interesting Dan.

I'm also left-handed playing right-handed and I've been struggling with the exact same thing.
About a month and a half ago I kind of stumbled across this on the range. I can't recall why but I kind of just went Rahm/Johnson with my wrist, at least the feeling was that picture of those guys wrists and it absolutely has transformed my club face control, strike, body movement.
It's the single one thing that has had the biggest positive impact on my golf game over my 20+ years of playing.

I'm wondering if you feel like you're releasing the club at all?
To me now, I'm just turning and not "feeling" a release at all.
Probably because my hands has been taken out of the equation.

It's funny coming from a "hand released action" which seemed powerful to something that feels so so weak because I don't get the feeling of releasing the club. In fact I've probably added 5yds.

I'll definitely follow you're journey on this.

  13. Great video. I can't believe that a pro like you still has room to improve. Makes me think I have a very long way to go to get my swing right.

  14. Excellent really interesting video, amazing how all these things are influenced by a grip change.

  15. Nice to see a live lesson Dan. Well done for going with what Ben suggested, it takes a big leap of faith to change your grip especially when it’s so public. Hope you find it beneficial 👏⛳️🏌🏼‍♂️

  16. Hi, good lessons, same stuff I’ve been working on, could you go through the grip bit in more detail with more close ups so there’s no ambiguity. Thanks

  17. Great content, just what I have been working on with my pro this year, knuckles facing down to the floor at half way on take away 👍🏻

  18. Such a great lesson, the process and explanation is top notch. Even the how to check your grip is a great thought.
For me, I tend to roll the wrists in the takeaway, but when I consciously try to fix I’m then so rigid that I don’t cock the wrists at all.
Feel I can learn from your lesson. Thank you for sharing.

  19. Great video Dan, what an excellent lesson that has help me understand what I have been doing so wrong with my wrist. The half swing practice method really helps hit crisp shots. Thank you so much…

  20. I've never had an answer to this question? Do I control the swing by actually swinging the club with my left arm or swinging with both hands. If I use both hands I hit it fat every time. If I feel like I'm letting things happen by gradually pulling my left arm down and rotating I play my best golf. So do I swing with both hands or with my left? When I say swing I'm not talking about hitting at the ball, but collecting the ball as Martin Chuck explains it. Please help!

  21. Even someone as golf challenged as myself can see a difference in your swing when you implement your lesson, great video Dan!

  22. This is great, I have saved it to watch later. When I start swinging the club again I will take this to the practice range with me. Loved the way Ben related the baseball swing, made perfect sense to me. Cheers from Texas.. ⛳🏌️🤠

  23. Lessons are tough. Especially when the swing is isolated to a "golf" swing when most of what Ben was suggesting was ironing out a wrinkle in what otherwise would be a natural swing in any sport. I had to apply my natural tennis swing in relation to a ball stationary on the ground. Simplified everything.

  24. I had a pro draw a dot on the back of my grip hand and told me that is the ball. Compression was learned.
